got caught at the supermarket (in between the martini olives and snack crackers ) with several bottles of hard liquor in my basket along with some red licorice by a sister that has known me for years.

still respects me, not knowing that i am in full fade mode, or at least not recognizably knowing.

anyway, when she sees me, her eyes get all big and she heads in my direction, nearly ramming my liquor laden cart with her vegan oriented basket.. "hey sop, how are you doing?

LOL DD! I do like your posts! I sometimes read JWN while family is around and sometimes post too, like you, they don't know what I'm typing... I could be on facebook as far as they know.. LOL but to write down some of the ridiculous things they say while they are saying it must be a bit of a buzz..

i am feeling down... i feel trapped, and don't know what to do... just need to vent here i guess.... so my mom calls me today, and asks how i am doing.

"how are you doing spiritually?

" i respond... yeah, you know, the usuals... service, meeting, etc.... she tells me that she's doing a lot of service with my dad... i say, "great!"...

I'm in the same place with my mum.. my hubby knows how I feel and she does a very little but I have to hide a lot of what I feel with her. I have to pretend a lot. She worries about my 'spirituality' as she calls it. It's hard not to be able to tell her how I really feel about things but I know she wouldn't be able to handle it. I keep off JW things as much as possible. I know what she loves to talk about so I just stick to those things, if it starts veering off into JW speech, I let her have her say then try and change the subject. It works quite well a lot of the time. It's still hard though!!

Annual Meeting Question

good morning everybody!!.

ok ive heard only "activejws in good standing" can attend, what if youre irreguar?

how are they enforcing this?

As I understand it (my hubby is an attendant at this thing) it is by invite only. Tickets and assigned seats, in our area at least. If she goes without an invite she will not be allowed in. If she has an invite she can't invite someone else herself and save them a seat.

JW Wife complications

hi, my wife became a jw about 25 years ago and at the time while it all sounded crazy to me but i could see not wrong and have no problem with people having a religion , it started to become apparent that her choice of religion was almost cult like with all the controls in place.

we no longer have a social life together as she will only be with clan members not wordly people and i have stopped going round to her friends houses for get togethers becouse i am sick to death of being questioned and mocked about my beliefs,hearing other religion being called so harsh,wordly people being talked about as if scum and all the other haughty talk.

i am not allowed any material in the house that might be apostate,satanic?

Welcome mand63, that's a real shame.

In my old cong there was a married couple, she was JW, he was Catholic (still are I believe). They were both regularly invited to social occasions by each other's friends, barbecues, picnics, parties etc . He was happy mixing with her JW friends though he never came with her to the hall and she was happy mixing with his catholic friends, though she never went to his church. Both were very active doing things for their own religion. They had and still have a very happy marriage. We personally got to know him quite well, he was a really nice guy.

It shouldn't have to be the way it is for you!

i am looking for things i can say in passing, when i meet some of my jw friends.

we used to attend meetings, but have not been officially recognized yet, as apostates.

we were good and curious students, but fell away and were choked out by weeds.. since i will be renewing my bible student status soon, i am hoping this will open more windows into the organization.

One that's made my hubby think is asking why they needed to change the 'generation' to an 'overlapping generation' (really meaning two generations), wasn't it because the generation that saw 1914 is now dead?
