Giving up the BS evening and replacing it with 'Family Worship' evening is doing the opposite of what they wanted I suspect because in a family environment you feel more free to say what you think without repercussions. I've used it to sow many seeds of doubt in my family, I suspect many families are doing this. By cutting meetings down they would be losing control...

When will they merge the BS, TMS, WTS, T into one meeting ?
by mP init seems to me with all the times being cut from talks, you could save further time and simply smash all the meetings into one on the weekend.
this would also save the need for those extra kingdom hall songs, and one trip to the kh.
with all these savings, jws could easily double their ministry..

Just wondering
by Freeof1914 ini am sure that some of you know my story, but in case you don't, i come fromma family of extremely zealous witnesses.
my immediate family as well as much of my extended family.
my father and brother are all elders that are used on the circuit and district level.

Freeof1914, I felt something like this when I first realised what it was all about. First having one's eyes opened then having the rug pulled from under you. I did feel lost. I still go for keeping up appearances but my immediate family know how I feel. For a while I felt totally lost and without direction but I have never lost faith in God or his word or Christ and now that is completely my direction and I am feeling in a much happier place and it shows to others. I'm not saying this has to be your way as we are all different, but maybe you need to find SOMETHING that gives meaning in your life because otherwise you might have a void that you don't know how to fill, and it will show.

Well, if they're not allowed there are an awful lot of disobedient JWs then! LOL (Including elders, MSs and pioneers).

Combating Destructive Mind Control Part I
by ABibleStudent infor the past month i have been reading threads on the jwn that mentioned steve hassans books.
last week while i was at the library, i checked out combatting cult mind control by steve hassan.
i agree with all of what steve hassan wrote about destructive mind control (i may disagree with some of his conspiracy theories).

by tornapart inat the moment i can't get these books, they are not available as ebooks and i can't risk having them in the house.

Thanks for that LWT.. I'll have a read. And OTWO, that's a good idea to get them from Amazon with some other books. I might try it. :)

They had to have an 'overlapping' generation (really meaning two generations) because by this time one generation is dead, passed away... making null and void the idea that 1914 meant anything. 1914 was a conclusion deriven from numerology and pyramidology based on a false date of 607BC. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus teachings. In fact his teaching was not to follow anyone who proclaimed they knew the date. (Luke 21:8).
They are trying to shore up a dam with a load of holes in it.. one day the dam will break....
