  i don't post here much, but read often.

  seen quite a few jw apologists and trolls come and go.

  they are almost always successful at getting a good number of people here upset and riled up, leading to personal attacks.

  Agree with you whole heartedly Fencing. In ones like this there's a lot of cognitive dissonance going on and it's almost as if they want to fight it.

  Overlapping Generation, Overlapping Instruction

  someone pointed out that it might be handy to compare current teaching on the generations, properly cited.

  i'm going to quote two sources; the watchtower magazine of april 2010 and "reasoning from the scriptures" published 1989. a witness to remain in good standing must follow current teachings.. from the reasoning book:.

  definition: the bible uses the expression last days to refer to the concluding time period leading up to a divinely appointed execution that marks the end of a system of things.

  Look who's coming to dinner...

  since i have recently received all of my cooking stuff out of storage from indiana i decided i wanted to do something i haven't done in a long while: cook a big thanksgiving feast and invite family and dear friends.

  the friends won't be a problem, it's the family that mostlikely won't show.

  i've asked my brother who lives fairly close and he said he didn't know because he and his wife would be coming home for a trip two days before.

  Hope you have a lovely time Mrs. J!! And everyone else who is going to have a thanksgiving.

  We don't have thanksgiving here in England, as such but I could never understand why JWs can't celebrate it. After all it's not religious, nothing 'pagan' to it. It's just a happy slap up meal for family and friend isn't it?

  JWStruggle.com is finally fixed!

  for those of you that know/care lol my website has been "frozen in amber" for about a week or more.

  no one could make a comment, post an article, reigster as a new user, etc.

  the last couple weeks have been hectic for me, although things are finally calming down now thank goodness, and i was able to make the repairs.. so anyway, problem solved!

  jwfacts has an article that explains why the great crowd must be in heaven.

  i am also aware that many of these are the same arguments that stemmed from the 'awakenings at bethel' so my statements are not simply attacks of jwfact's character (since these arguments are probably not original) but rather his copy and paste of what others have said instead of verifying it as 'fact' for himself.. so here are jwfacts arguments:.

  1. he shows that russell and rutherford (at some point) believed that the great crowd were in heaven.. 2. each term that describes the great crowd of revelation 7 is else used to described the anointed by the wt.

  i was thinking it would be helpful if we put together a wt lexicon for those that are not too familiar with wt terminology.

  it's important for them to understand these theocratic expressions so that they too can understand and speak the "pure language" of truth.

  mafia-like chasing

  so, i have missed 4 sunday meetings now for different reasons mainly fatigue cause i'm still in school and i'm up late almost everynight.

  anyways..the lady i study with decides to harass the house with relentless phone calls disturbing my mum (who doesnt like jws) for the last 3 days.

  she finally got through to me today because she called super early (before 7).

  Hi Happy... don't let anyone invade your space!!

  Just because you've been studying for while and going to meetings doesn't mean anyone 'owns' you. You don't need to answer to anyone!

  If you choose to learn about the bible, that's your choice, if you choose to go to a meeting, that's your choice.. if you choose not to go to a meeting, that's also your choice. They can't bully you into anything if you don't allow them.

  They'll start trying to guilt trip you and emotionally blackmail you. Don't let them! Listen to what your gut instinct is telling you. You can 'feel' something is wrong. Don't ignore it.

  You have the right and the choice to do with your life what you wish and if to you it doesn't 'feel' right then you shouldn't let anyone pressure you into it. Allow yourself the freedom to do what you want to do and not what someone else wants you to do. You owe them nothing!
