  Are you a coward?

  active jw:s spending their time with the preaching work, are often aware of that their message does not comply with simple scientific facts.

  they know that evolution has taken place, that the timetable of the bible is not correct, and that most of the bibles content, are tales, that the original text has been rewritten, and rewritten, and misunderstood, and rewritten (except for a fragment p54, which is from 300 a.c.) still they go out preaching, trying to find possible converts to the teaching of the gb.. often they try to do as little as possible, one or two hours per month, talking to their children, or old parents.

  this to satisfy the elder who is responsible for the report list to the society.. but are these people not responsible for promulgate a lie.

  You get the judgemenatalism from the inside because you are not 'doing enough' and are therefore spiritually weak. You get the judgementalism from the outside because you are doing too much and should 'man up', tell everyone what you really think and risk losing every single person you have ever loved.

  Guess what? I feel angry. Angry at them and angry at people like you. Then to put us on the same level as Nazis?!! For your information, I've not 'dragged anyone into this cult', in fact I'm trying to get my family to see it for what it is and it's a long drawn out process. I'm not leaving without them and I don't see this as being cowardly!!

  Right now after your comments I feel just like my username... thanks for that.

  i was angry with my kid for questioning me.

  i work, i pay the bills, i provide food, clothing and shelter for them.

  instead of respect, i get attitude.

  I know there's the scripture that says God remembers that we are dust. But dust is NOT dirt. They have taken it totally out of context. Our being like dust to God means he knows we have weaknesses and imperfections. We are not strong and powerful like he is. We cannot do the things he can do. It's like the difference between an adult and a newborn infant.

  We do NOT have to think of ourselves as something on the bottom of someone's shoe. God does not think of us that way. He loves and cherishes us despite our weaknesses and imperfections. Thinking of ourselves as precious in God's eyes is by no means prideful!

  Finally getting a shepherding call... or so I thought

  a few weeks ago i got a visit from a sister from the old congregation.

  she was our uber pioneer, fearless, regular and often accompanied by her husband, a ministerial servant.

  she didnt know i lived here so it was a brief visit after she found out i had disassociated myself.. i got a knock at the door a few minutes ago and it was her husband this time.

  I actually feel very sorry for him. It's going to be a long hard struggle, especially at his age. You did really well to not bombard him with loads of stuff Zoos. Let's hope he tries to find some more kind support and help.

  Teens know exactly how to press their parents' buttons. Mine are all through it and out the other side now with no harm done on either side. They are good well-balanced adults.

  Yes, there were many occasions I wished I'd done/said things differently but no human and no parent of a teen with attitude gets it right every time!

  The biggest thing that made a difference for me was to apologise to my teen if I'd got it wrong. Words can crush and once they're out you can't get them back but apologising and saying 'I shouldn't have said that, I'm sorry', makes a big difference. Many times it can cause the teen to apologise for their behaviour and you can start to get back on track with them.

  Edit: just seen your second post DD!

  Don't think 'mother' is ever going to apologise to us!!

  i still find it strange that believers cannot get it in to their heads that atheism is not a belief, but theism is.

  there cannot possibly be proof "for" the atheistic position as it is simply a position that says i see no proof for a god.. if someone says there are pink unicorns with purple spots and i say i have never seen any proof of their existence, i cannot offer proof of my "position", the onus is 100% upon the spotted unicorn guy to prove their existence to me.

  simple.. where the frustration enters in for us non-unicornists is when the unicornists expect us to listen to inane arguments , non facts and plain nonsesnse and then go along with their delusion.
