What was today's video about?

today was a north american address to all congregations, 2 1/2 hours, with a video from the governing body.

was anything earth-shattering shared?.

I didnt pay much attention but all in all it wasn't much of a big deal. Just reminding everyone they are a part of something bigger.

I think with so many changes recently and more coming this summer, there is bound to be an impact on the faith of some. Stuff like this shifts the focus from doctrine to "fruits" and "spriitual paradise".

I have spoken with a few people about the changes coming and I said basically :"its obvious they had it wrong before so they had to change it. I guess we can never say for sure what will happen until it actually does occur"
I said this to nods of agreement.... and these are beleivers!

If believers are going to be realizing that the org. is just responding to outdated timelines instead of channeling Jehovah's light, then yes, they better get the R&F focusing on the non-doctrinal "blessings" of being a JW.

History has proven this works. How many times have we heard about JW's saying;"even if it wasn't the truth I'd still do it!"

JW's are in for the warm fuzzy of being a part of something bigger. "Look how many magazines we print, we MUST be Jehovah's true organization!"

I am certain we are going to see lots more of these streamed videos pushing the mighty ORGANIZATION in front of the R&F's eyes on a regular basis. This on top of the now almost daily reference to JW.org

since coming to know ttatt, i have always wondered if there are others in the congregation who also share similar experience with me, are there pointers to identifying others who are also faking meeting attendance and fs activities..

i didnt attend a book study for almost an entire year. then theY cancelled the book study and my overall average neeting attendance improved by 30%

Canada Zone Visit - April 2013

just got word of a zone visit for canada in april 2013, think it was april 8 to 14. sounds like its just 2 members of the u.s. branch comittee, no gb.

however, they plan on showing a talk on april 13/14 to all congregations in canada, not just a select few as has always been the case.. it'll be the same old stuff, but maybe this is why they the watchtower is purchasing all those projectors, like that "confidential" document mentions?

to broadcast things like this in all congregations?.

pretty lame to show off the "increase" at the canada branch and then talk about jehovah "speeding up the work".

how about, the US shifing production to a country with universal health care! how is halving the size of the mads "speeding up the work" anyhow?

there was something else in there that caught my attention as a misapplication of scripture but it escapes me right now, .... i just remember hearing a bit that was blatantly twisted... i'll try to recall what poin that was

The July 15 Watchtower and all its new light is only...

making people cling to the organization more.

when i found out it was up i told so many people frantically that there is a new study article up and that it had so many changes.

my mother started crying saying how happy she is to be a part of an organization that is truly directed by jehovah... only the true faithful and discreeet slave could have such insight.... another person began to say how great it is to see the celestial chariot on the move.. .

I noticed that there is very little reference to 1914 & the last days. They are both mentioned a few times seperately but only ONCE together.

1914 is called the "beginning of the harvest" and referred to as the time when Jesus comes to inspect the temple.

But the great tribulatin didn't start in 1914, the F&DS was not appointed in 1914, Jesus did not come to Judge in 1914.... all that is future.

1914 still lingers but seemingly as an interesting side note to a new paradigm. That paradigm being the new "great tribulation" driven WTS.Sure we've always had the great tribulation, but it was always connected temporally to 1914. This is now gone for the first time since its inception.

In 50 years JW's will be all about the "great tribulation" the same way 50 years ago the JW's were about 1914.

This is a paradigm shift for the org.

From what I have read this is not over yet. Now that the paradigm has shifted to the yet future "disgusting thing", there is freedom for the BOrg to shuffle more stuff around to keep the R&F awake and on the edge of their seats instead of falling asleep to the 100 year old drone of 1914

Ironically enough in September when the R&F are learning all about the "new light" the vast majority sitting there will have never understood the "old light". Just let me go home an drink beer....

July 15th Study Edition Is Up..

not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but yeah.

they just posted up the new watchtower...with the confusing new information.. time for me to go dive into this "new light" and try to see what sense it makes.

of course cedars already nicely did a run down for us.. .

wow wow wow! this one is a biggie say goodbye to 1914 and move up all the big stuff to an unkown future time - ie: the great tribulation! I suppose this is kind of like how the "friends" back in 1929 must have felt when all the big stuff (1799, 1874) got moved up to 1914 thus delaying the end. Now all that big stuff has been moved up to the yet future great tribulation. Even better, when the disgusting thing DOES stand in a holy place, there is still a "period of time", yes another delay! but at that time we will experience all the joy of call rude people at the doors "goats" like we did back in the day. So I guess the new great tribulation is the "new" 1914 for the millenial F&DS. I mean, we can't have all the good stuff apply to those old boys back in 1914 and us "new boys" get none of the attention can we? As soon as the GB decides to point to an "event" and call it the "disgusting thing" then WHAM! SEE! WE SAID IT! JUST LIKE 1914! Then all the young'ens will be all fired up with the end soooo close and the WTS predicting the great tribulation the same way they predicted 1914 and the united nations. I wonder if 2014 will be the year of the disgusin thing????

even as a die-hard believer I always wondered how an assembly was so expensive. Especailly after the food service stopped.

I learned about all the other expenses wrapped up in the assembly: the CO & DO expenses, their vehicles, gas, travel, food, accomodations, everything! Even after all that I still thought it was so high for 1 or 2 days.

Then I learned about the WTS charging rent. RENT? plus we cleaned it and maintained it and paid for it? WTF? Then on top of that the "pre-determined donation" to the WTS being included in the totals as an "expense"? Very fraudulent as far as I am concerned. I never understood how much of a business the WTS was until I grasped this

If all of this stuff happened all at once JW's would have been falling flat on their faces!

The conflicting tracks about the anointed

i was gobsmacked to hear wife tell me this:.

she said the co's wife in her mother's hall is anointed.. my mil asked the co's wife why she thought that the number of anointed are going up.. the answer will make you think, and might make you a bit angry.. the co's wife said:.

well, 'they' looked around and realized we need more anointed, not less, as they are the ones who take the lead (ie, the fds).. i trust the source for this information implicitly; i believe it.. .

but was there not a WT about 15 years ago that discussed if other sheep should pray for holy spirit? I recall the article basically implied that other sheep can pray for holy spirit but this is more of a symbol of their appreciation of Jehovah's holy spirit acting upon the anointed.

I am certain I remember this article that only anointed get holy spirit. Or am I crazy?
