  ‘scholar’ persistently demonstrates that JWs don’t actually care about truth at all.

  I read the replies to you and you read the replies to me--they are cop outs, and insulting little phrases in between.

  We are dealing with someone who is not merely refusing to think critically, but be respectful toward their religious community by being a horrible representation of what it should be like to deal with someone who supposedly believes in "life-saving truth."

  There's an entirely new Watchtower publication teaching JWs to LOVE PEOPLE--and for a claimed "JW scholar," this particular scholar has no study in that particular publication or in the loving of persons.

  Totally hurtful, insulting, disgusting, dishonest, and unloving, just to mention a few problems with Scholar's approach.

  What does believing in 607 BCE mean to you?

  Does it provide you with pleasure to share what you know about this with others?

  Do you thiink Jehovah God is pleased with your behavior in the way you reply to me in your posts?

  What do you feel about me as a person when you write your responses to me? Is God pleased with you in your choice of words?

  Is there room for improvement in your attitude toward me and others when you engage us here?

  Did you have God's holy spirit when you wrote all these posts to all of us or have you sinned at any point? Explain.

  These are the answers I really want but do not believe you have the courage or ability to supply.

  The problem with this question and some like it is that degrees of what and how Jehovah's Witnesses "believe" things are all strange, weird, and sometimes just downright wrong.

  When I was associating with the Witnesses, some of them believed that the mere musical theme of the Smurf's television cartoon on Saturday mornings was demonic.

  Others believed that some non-Witness homes would remain standing after Armageddon, and they would purposefully check-out terrorities that included the real estate of houses they would like to live in, hoping they could interest the householders to conversations that would invite them in so that they could get a glimpse of the place. If they liked the home, they would ask Jehovah to spare it so they could move into it after the Great Tribulation and the householders had died.

  Others avoided Oreos because there was a rumor that blood was being used by Nabisco to make them, and of course the Bible prohibited one to consume blood...

  Not official beliefs, of course, but ones that shaped how they filtered what came down the Watchtower pipeline and how they applied it.

  I could go on, but you get it. This should be enough.

  The religious foundation of Jehovah's Witness thinking is more than strict theology. It is also cultural. This shapes and, sadly, warps their so-called "Biblical" teachings.

  Thus let us say they believe in the Bible teaching of the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you." I believe that. But do I believe it the same way a JW does?

  Jehovah's Witnesses might say they believe in the Golden Rule, but I posit that they do not.

  They often do not view "others" as worthy of the Golden Rule at all times. They are often suspicious, even of members of their own religion.

  First they automatically cancel-out all non-Witnesses as demonized outsiders, so they would not really "do unto them." And often, they would "mark" members in their own congregation. If someone did something they thought "smacked" of "demonic" activity or was just "bad association," a Witness would not "do unto them." And they would not "do unto" anyone in their own family who was "removed" (the "new" term for disfellowshipped), even though this person was their own blood.

  A rabbi I knew once taught that it is not what one claims as creed to be their true beliefs but their actions, especially when they believe no one to be watching. What a person does then, that is their true creed, what they truly believe in. If a person publicly says they do not believe in watching porn, but they watch porn in secret--then they really believe in watching porn.

  So you cannot really say you agree with anything the Witnesses teach or claim to believe. Their view of things is warped. Even when they claim they believe in the "Bible"--the "Bible" they believe in is a warped translation. So you cannot say you believe what they believe--unless you are still one of them.

  I did, but you, in your cognitive dissonance, poo-pooed it away.

  I gave you many lines of evidence.

  You just easily dismiss them because any line of evidence you are incapable of answering back to, because of your lack of scholarship, you simply claim is not sufficient.

  This is not correct. In academics, if you were a real academic, you would you the critical method to demonstrate why each point doesn't work.

  You don't do that. You cannot demonstrate via methodological logic.

  Quoting others and not showing your own work and being dismissive is not scholarly.

  So we laugh at you.

  Some of us here have gone to college and universities. We gave gone through the Platonic method. We can tell, therefore, who has not.

  You have not.

  We're just having sport with you. We have given you evidence. We just love to hear how many times you reject it.

  You keep believing what you want. We really do not care in the end. We are not debating with you because we are trying to convince you or win an argument.

  You don't get it, do you? We argue with you to show others that our view that JWs are stubborn and won't listen to facts is true.

  Each time you refuse to budge, you prove us right.

  In other words, we know that you will stand in a circle and let us throw sticks and stones at you and not move, and you will stay in that circle with a blindfold on because the Governing Body of JWs told you to. It is weird, but you do it.

  You keep going back to the circle for more stone throwing, so we do it.

  It's not about 607 BCE.

  Please provide ONE line of evidence that disproves 607 BCE for the Fall of Jerusalem.

  So much has already been provided. You can provide God from heaven to tell you that it's not true and you would spit in God's face and call God a liar. Why?

  Because you are going to believe this, even after the Governing Body does away with 607 BCE, which they are about to, just watch.

  And then, where will you be? They did away with the 1914 generation.

  They just released a new Watchtower just days ago with a section that reads: "We Do Not Know When the End Will Come." (WT June 2024, Par 4) This is something that they never would have published or said a few years ago...

  Stephen Lett was just saying how "undoubtedly" they knew it was the "final part of the last days"...

  The Holy Sprit warned me that she was dealing with a control demon and that the reason he hid his face from her was so she would not see the hatred he had for her in his eyes.

  How do you or someone with a similar experience verify that you or they are having contact with the Holy Spirit and not with a demon or not having a focal seizure or suffering from psychosis? How does one move from being a brainwashed member of the Watchtower to becoming an authority on spiritual phenomenon from Heaven?

  How long after leaving the Watchtower did this special ability happen to you?

  Can would-be Christians know or fellowship with Michael the Archangel?

  Why can't you know or fellowship with an angel? Or vice-versa?

  Joseph Smith claimed to have been visited by the angel Moroni and was led to the Gold Plates that Smith claimed he used to translate into The Book of Mormon (not the musical).

  In the New Testament a demon claimed to "know" both Jesus and the apostle Paul at Acts 19:15.

  Exactly what are the "rules"? Are they listed anywhere? Are humans privileged to them? Or are these made up, ad-hoc, as it were, according to religious belief and doctrine?

  I am serious and not meaning to tease or make fun. I am really asking because I don't know how this works, as to why "fellowship" or 'knowing' one spirit-being blesses one person one way or perhaps damns another.
