This is horrible, immoral, and I feel wretched after seeing this. This child is being heralded as a martyr by this religion. More like an innocent victim of brainwashing and familial pressure. I hurt for those little ones who are ready to be sacrificed by their parents to their real God--the organization. How is this any different from passing their children through the fires to molech in the bible? If this doesn't scream under demonic influence and/or cult propaganda I don't know what does.

I'm all for a nice, trimmed beard. Now, how about pants for the ladies? As much counsel gets dished-out over immodest dress you would think the Borg would allow for business-style pants. Oh, who am I kidding, it's a frickin cult. -

We live a simple life
by hoser inthis is a video on jw broadcasting to quit your full time career, sell your house and belongings and start a window washing career.
i agree with some of what is presented but not all.
it is good to live within your means as presented in this video.

I once told a pioneer that I had to get a job. She told me, "You don't need a job, just rely on Jehoober." It was a face-palm moment. My palm, her face.

Jehovers Witnesses are not the only ones....
by The Rebel in"more than half of the people in the u.k either aren't saving at all or they aren't saving enough to give themselves the standard of living they hope for" ( the money advice service).
how do you have your retirement planned?.
as for myself, i never botherd with putting money in a pension, i opted instead to invest in buy to let properties.

Fear of not enough money to care for my old self keeps me up at night. I worry about this all the time. I worry about it because I know that my poor JW family and in laws are going to need our help and care. But, who is going to take care of me and my husband? Those judgmental people will rely on us, the sinners who work hard and have nurtured a career despite what the org does or says.

Tales from the Special Convention in Helsinki
by internationalfader ini created a new account since i didn't want anybody to be able to trace this back to me based on my other posts.
i was an international delegate at the special convention in helsinki.
i am an awake pioneer.

You are an awake pioneer? You are my hero. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your experience. Were there many baptized at this international? Also, I completely agree with your point that there is very little scriptural support for the JW beliefs. Everything is based upon the social structure and the commands to obey.

What should I do?
by Tameria2001 inhello everyone, it's been quite a while since i was last on this forum.

Tameria2001, it is simply disgusting how your JW family has treated you these years. It is bad enough that they shun their own blood, but to antagonize the situation by saying you and your kids will all die at Armageddon is crossing a serious line into cruel judgment. Your sister sounds like she suffers from a personality disorder. Glad you guys got out when you did. Toxic people, toxic religion.

The identity of "The Faithful and Discreet Slave", solved - I think.
by Island Man in“who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
- matthew 24:45. let's be honest, the faithful and discreet slave logically cannot refer to any and every christian.
this is not merely an encouragement for all christians to prove themselves faithful and discreet.

That's really interesting, Island Man. I pretty much feel that any explaination contrary to the Borgs interpretation is a good one.

Tameria2001, it is good to hear you went and had a nice time. Glad your husband stood up to those bullies and wouldn't take their cheek. Sounds like you were able to enjoy most of your visit. I am appalled that these people who claim to be true Christians are so hateful towards you and your husband. You would think they would be as kind as possible to try and "win you back". It sounds as though their egos are more what they are protecting than their religion. Anyway, hooray for you guys:-)

Need Suggestions/examples: Guide to helping family & friends break free
by LisaRose ini was going through my copy of steve hassan's combating cult mind control and it occurred to me that it would be great to have something like this specifically for us ex jehovah's witnesses.
while this is a great book, the examples he uses are mostly from people that were moonies, as steve is a former moonie and many people that have contacted him for help were relatives of moonies.
while cults all work basically the same, it would be nice to be have some ideas on things that are specific to jehovah's witnesses.

Thanks for that Lisa Rose. I need to brush up on my Steve Hassan lately. Truth be told it is quite exhausting mentally and emotionally for me to remember all this stuff and contemplate indirect tactics to slowly reveal ttatt to my husband. It's one day at a time for me. Thanks for bringing these little reminders to our attention:)
