  New here and having ah ha moments!

  what made you realize it was time to go?

  i've been having health problems for the last few years and instead of any help, i'm listed as spiritually weak and of course associations is only my kids and husband.

  all the good jw's have moved to other congregations and are doing well.

  That's how it got for me. Going to the KH just became mentally and emotionally exhausting. With all the clicks and good 'ole boy connections, it was simply too hostile of an environment for me to personally function within.

  Jehovah's Witnesses show their support for Jesus by reading this scripture each Memorial. It clearly shows how that our forgiveness of sins is inextricably linked to membership in the New Covanant. The Watchtower teaches that the eight man governing body leading our organization have their sins forgiven by their membership in the New Covenant.

  Her: Wow. That is so loving! But how can I personally benefit?

  You: Well, we as rank and file members receive benefits and are given the priviledge of working for our salvation under their blessed direction. We have hope that one day we will be declared righteous if we remain in good standing with the elders.

  Her: Where is that in the bible?

  You: Well, I can see that our time is just about up. I think you can see that JW's really do believe in Jesus after all. We will pick this up again next week when we discuss what happens to those who end up at the Great White Throne Judgment without a Mediator. Whew!...Seems to be getting a little hot in here.   my gay xjw friend sent me a link to a site (must be an unofficial jw site) with so many do and co talks - f*** me dead!

  its like hearing the dead talk.

  anyway, my friend somehow had found out that one of his (years ago) bible studies was featured on it.

  Do You Dine out? If so do you return unsatisfactory food?

  i was chatting today in the sauna, as one does if you don't go to meetings about dining out.

  one pleasant fellow said he would never return food, he explained it was because he is convinced the staff would do something to the food.. do you agree?.

  Yes and Yes. Last Sunday at IHOP they brought me lukewarm potatoe soup with a glob of sourcream in the middle. I sent it back and asked for simple french fries instead. They brought me lukewarm french fries instead.

  The Philly Cheesesteak was nearly rancid and had a hard perimeter around the meat. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up some buttermilk to try and get the taste out and to try and stop the burping.

  Try Buttermilk if you have a bad dining experience. It really does work. The 1% works just as good btw.

  Ive got the Christmas spirit--its killing me

  tonight we watched home alone 2, last nghr we watched home alone...i hear the christmas music and i have started to....feel again.

  its hard to describe this feeling...its overjoyed, peaceful, hopeful, at the beauty ive missed around this time.

  and at the same time it kills me because my children dont know it...its just another day, no special time, no holidays...my daughter asked me the other night if she could have a birthday.

  Why Evolution Is True--something that scares me

  so im reading "why evokution is true" by coyne and the page im on is talking about darwin and natural selection:.

  "but natural selection was also the part of evolutionary theory con- sidered most revolutionary in darwins time, and it is still unsettling to many.

  selection is both revolutionary and disturbing for the same reason: it explains apparent design in nature by a purely materialistic process that doesnt require creation or guidance by supernatural forces.

  The bible predicted the UNIFORMITARIANISM in later times ... the foudation of evolution.

  "There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of... the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished" (2 Pet. 3:3-6).

  It's hard for me not to quote Mark Twian here:

  ("Life on the Mississippi," chap. 17): "Now, if I wanted to be one of those ponderous scientific people, and 'let on' to prove what had occurred in the remote past by what had occurred in a given time in the recent past... In the space of 176 years the Lower Mississippi has shortened itself 242 miles. That is an average of a trifle over 1 1/3 miles per year.   But seriously there are mountains of evidence to blast holes through the standard evolutionary naturalistic worldview paradign.

  Get right with God through the blood of Jesus and he'll take you places and show your things you NEVER DREAMED of. He did it for me.

  My brother died yesterday

  "albert" was 55 years old, and the fifth-born of seven children.

  i am the second oldest and babysat him often while he was growing up --- and while i was still at home.. yesterday, albert was out taking his usual morning stroll around his small town, when he collapsed on the sidewalk.

  the doctors said it was a heart attack.

  Jehovah prophetically also said this about himself:

  That's awesome!

  I think its just what is needed.... Learning to love yourself the way God loves us. It is the polar opposite of "do more, run faster, jump higher".
