I think that if people were simply informed that Jesus is not their Mediator, baptisms would come to a virtual halt and the orgs' entrophy would excelerate dramitically.

Good For You Phizzy!!!
"For those who wish to do extra Bible study and research, we recommend that they explore Insight on the Scriptures, "All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial," and our other publications, such as those that discuss the prophecies found in the Bible books of Daniel, Isaiah, and Revelation."
And I reccommend thay they ponder the scripture 2 Timothy 3: 16 where it says that the bible can make me "complete", "perfect" lacking nothing", "completely equipped".
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It's not spirituality.... its identification. Since I literally gave my life to Christ Alone...everything changed in my life for the better. Once I dealt with the lie of autonomy, I realized I'd always be a slave to something or someone.
One "free man" works all day for a loaf of bread. One slave does not get paid but shares, uses , distributes, does business with all of a Kings wealth, riches and authority and is rewarded with more authority, riches, investments, etc. according to his skill. He can't get fired. He lives in the lap of luxury while administering the King's business interests. The King loves him.
Which one is more "free"?

The Gall & Hypocrisy!!
by Simon Morley injust got a call from my daughter that she got word that the jw honeywagon (literature stand) has set up in the university she teaches at.
one (and there are many) of the reasons we left was due to the stance on higher education, she was persecuted by the elders for attending the very university they are now set up in.
my daughter eventually got a masters degree overseas and now teaches at the same unversity, is self sufficent and will not have to eke out some pittance of a living while fighting a very delbilitating health condition.

I personally wish we'd see more of these public displays; That way they can't leave when they are asked biblical questions they can't answer. Like how is a person saved if Jesus isn't their Mediator?? Or show me that elusive scripture that shows how a person can be declared righteous while outside of tthe New Covenant ??
These booths are great because they cant run to the elders ( who are equally unable to answer).

History And The Search For True Christianity
by pronomono inwhat happened to the original christian churches named in the bible - philadelphia, thessolonica, ephesus, smyrna, pergamum, thyatira, sardis, and laodicea to name a few?
one would think that since these were the original churches, if we could trace the history of these churches down to our day, we could find who is preaching truth today.
obviously this doesn't lie with jws because it is a new religion, although i do not doubt the sincerity of their belief.. there are two likely cases that i can see: 1) these became what is now known as the roman catholic church, 2) the roman catholic church was an apostate christianity that seperated from these true churches and used their power to snuff out the true churches from history.. which one do you think is correct?

Two thousand years, millions of people searching and still no one's found it.
I found it. Lots of folks have.
My truck license plate reads:
Know Jesus, Know Peace
No Jesus, No Peace
When a person makes friends with God through the blood of Jesus alone, you'll know it better than you know your own name.

Hidden Meanings of the Bible: It's All About the Mind
by ProdigalSon inback in bible times, the common literary style was in parables, metaphors, and allegories.
the reason for this is that the spiritual truths they were trying to convey are too abstract and difficult to express in literal terms.
the bible itself says that not a word jesus spoke was literal:.

According to Paul, the story of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar is an allegory.
What? That's ridiculous. Paul as a good Jew revered Abraham as an historical figurehead of his race.
In John 8:56-59 says, "'Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.' 57 The Jews therefore said to Him, 'You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?' 58 Jesus said to them, 'Truly truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'

Which one do you think is correct?
This is an interesting question. I used to think that this question is silly because the truth doesn't live in a religion it exists wholly with God. "Your Word is truth"..... "I am the Way, the Truth and.... In the beginning was the Word.
But, Ive since softened a little and can say that religion does matter. Where you find a body of believers preaching faith in CHRIST ALONE for salvation from judgment after you die....you won't be far off. Also, when members display a servant attitude, it is a good indicator of "correctness".

Topics not often discussed now
by jdubsnub inwhen i was a kid in the early 90's there always seemed to be a mention of how demons posessing people or how if you saw a demon or something supernatural occuring mearly calling jehovah's name would rid you of the situation.
rarely now a days do you hear anything of the sort.
that got me to thinking, what are some other topics the society has backed off of?

I haven't heard much about the anti-typical wide-mouth cooking pot lately or the secretary with the writer's inkhorn.
Funny how when Franz got too old and died, much of the prophetic craziness left with him.

GB: It is reccommended to study WT publications at your "bible studies".
Q: But why can't we just study the bible at our bible studies?
GB: Because many have become apostate by doing that, that's why!

So sad. I love God more and more each day. My life could not be better since ditching religion and becoming identified solely with Jesus.
God is Love.
