I wonder why they didn't quote the rest of John 5: 29?

John 5: 28 & 29 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

I noticed they didn't quote another very important scripture on the resurrection: Revelation 5th Chapter

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished....Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.... Are we heading for III World War?

the leaders of russia, germany, france and ukraine are slated to meet in minsk (the belarusian capital) tomorrow to discuss a ukrainian peace plan!

some countries such as hollande believe there is going to be a total war.

when they met last year in the same place, they had put forward a peace plan (a ceasefire, withdrawal of artillery, prisoner exchanges and other concessions) that were never fully implemented!

Looks like the Anti-Christ will wipe out another third of mankind during the 2nd half of the tribulation before Israel invites King Jesus to come back to Jerusalem. They didn't exactly welcome him for very long last time.

King Jesus wipes out the armies of the Anti-Christ with ONLY the spoken word.... cancelling the murderous reign of "that Wicked" "son of perdition". Every knee will will gladly bend after the reign of that homicidal maniac is over.

Looking back it is comical how the Watchtower had me believing that Jehovah would destroy all the wicked at the battle of Armageddon, when in reality it is the Anti-Christ that is doing the killing. Jehovah in the person of King Jesus rids the earth of this genocide.

i started going door to door at age 5 and was giving no.

2 talks by age 7. during the 8 years i was an active adult jw i was never a ms or elder (although i was a regular pioneer once).

so, i never qualified to give an hour talk.

Briefly, the approach is this:

The Watchtower has everyone believing they are living in Judgment Day NOW, and that the judgment revolves around how active they are with the Watchtower, ie. meeting attendance, field service etc.

However, Hebrews 9:27 destroys this myth by clearly saying that judgment occurs AFTER a person dies.

The second myth that the Watchtower teaches is that the New Covenant (also called the blood covenant) is ONLY for government positions, (limited to 144K)

Matthew 2: 27 , 28 destroys this myth by clearly stating that the New Covenant is "for the forgiveness of sins".

So, once the JW at your door admits to you that they are not personally part of the new covenant (they will initially claim that they are until you question them about their involvement in the Lord's Supper), you can simply read these two scriptures from their own bible and the problem immediately becomes apparent.

If the NC is for forgiveness of sins and they are not part of the New Covenant, how do they get their sins forgiven?

If handled with love and concern, you'll get the deer in the headlights look every time.

The death of 1/3 of humans is just sort of Act I as opposed to WW III. I suspect this event will usher in the rule of someone who will come to be known as the Anti-Christ. Then real evil begins. King Jesus will defeat the Antichrist when Israel invites him back:

“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” (Matthew 23:39)

I found the above excerpt from the 1911 article interesting because it shows that Russell was a heretic teaching a works based salvation way back then.

Jesus offers offers renewal and rest through the rebirth, not more works for salvation.

Hebbrews 4: 10 - For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

I would say that Jerusalem is still being "stepped on" disrespectfully by Gentiles. - "Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

Moslems run the temple mount. A temple to a false God is on the temple mount now.

Where is the 1st and 2nd century historical outcry charging that this was written after the fact?

Revelation 11:1-2 explains when the times of the Gentiles will come to an end:

And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Remember, Jerusalem will be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. This passage tells us that the Gentiles will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two Jerusalem months. Forty-two months here refers to the (2nd half of the final week in Daniels 70 week prophecy) three and one half year period known as the great tribulation, which immediately precedes the battle of Armageddon.

In Revelation 13:5, we are told that power was given to the beast (the Antichrist) to continue forty two months. This is the same forty two months that will conclude the times of the Gentiles.

I kinda like that.

I would also point out that Christianity is a religion but also deeply personal in that Jesus told Nicodemus three times that we must be born again. When I was born originally, it was a deeply meaningful and personalized experience for me. I even got a certificate officiating the occasion.

When I was born again, the same thing happened... again.

How many people would have been in attendance if you don`t mind my asking.And what was the response afterwards

Around 100 people. Response was positive. I heard the term "overwhelming" and "information overload" thrown around a bit. The demo really helped to simply the info. Without the demo I think it would not have done what I intended it to do. Sound room said they had a lot of requests for the video tape.

Pastor and elders loved it.

i've been lurking for 3-4 years and i mean i've been a mega lurker, doing marathon reading sessions for months or weeks.. sometimes i proceed by researching specific topics, or posters; other times just reading current discussions.

i'm particularly fond of "old" post, i.e 10-12-15 years ago.. i have laughed, smiled, got mad, cried etc, just reading some threads here.. as you can see i suffer from some kind of "accute lurkitis".

God has been very good to me after leaving the Tower and doing business directly with Jesus. May you experience the same.

i didn't go to the prom but i did belong to a chess club until the awake article said it was a war game and suggested true christians wouldn't play such a game.

That reasoning is so flawed. Life is war, our Christian walk is war, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against .... wickedness in high places. And, 2 Timothy 2:3 says, "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."

I suspect the reason they wrote against chess is because of its inherent mental practice, and also it just gives people another reason to imagine their moral superiority by adding another item to their prohibition list.
