The word "always" is Strongs # 2250. It describes this word in part thusly:

the time space between dawn and dark, ... reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period

Jesus was simply saying that he would be with all believers from the dawn of the church age until the darkness of the last days immediately following the rapture.

The Mormons teach the EXACT same thing as the JW's..... that there were no true believers (from the 3rd century ) until their guy (Smith instead of Russell) showed up to get all the false Christians straightened out.

They harp on the Catholic Church abuses to prove their point. They ignore the millions of bible believing Christians who had no leader but Christ & who were the objects of Papal hatred.

Convention

gorby is as you know a long time fader.. visited the convention this weekend.. and concluded that samuel herds talk about hope was not so bad at all, it was well balanced.

made some good points.. knowing both sides of the medallion, have to admit he was humble with a focus on hope.. the saturday drama impressed me.

of course, there is a lot to say about the organization, this professional produced movie in a "true story" scenario, gave me the insight that hope is important for suffering people.

i am having quite a bit of trouble leaving and fading.

does anyone have recommendations of an exit therapist?

it doesn't matter where they are located, i need to get out physically, mentally, and emotionally.

When a person leaves the Watchtower, he is viewed as an enemy by current members. It is very tempting to repay evil for evil. I believe that Jesus teachings on love, forgiveness, boundaries etc., are all powerful weapons against tyranny. And that is what the Watchtower system is more than anything else - tyrannical thought police.

Jesus taught us to look beyond the crime - "forgive them, they know not what they do."

I believe that Jesus' teachings are powerful mechanisms for not only coping with tragedy like the kind the WT generates, but also in overcoming them and putting them under our feet where they belong and not over our heads as burdens.

Simon,

Jesus healed many people during his 3 year ministry. His amazing healing powers were recognized by 1) secular historians,2) the Jewish religious leadership that hated him (his enemies) and 3) those that trusted him too. No one denied that his miracles were real. He is STILL in the healing and comforting business.

when jehovah brings armageddon, will he let me live long enough to witness the deaths of my children and grand children because they didn't believe in him?

When Israel turned towards the heathen for enlightenment and started worshipping idols and sacrificing their children in the fires of Molech while the drums drowned out the babies' screams, God eventually granted their desire to be free of him. He removed the protective hedge from them.

Today, modern man kills the babies while still in the womb or only partially birthed...no drums needed. But, God hears their silent screams from their souls.

He satisfies the desire of every living thing.

That is a sobering thought, because it slices both ways. Eventually, when the church age has ended, God will give the majority of mankind freedom from himself. This will leave a power vacuum unlike anything seen before since time began. It is in this context that globalism will reach its full climax and the Anti-Christ will create a hellish existence for people on earth.

The technology is already here to achieve it all.

That is an incredible story. The dislike for this woman by that Watchtower conductor could not have been clearer. Imagine if this would have happened to his son, daughter or mother. I doubt he would have tried to continue the study while they were dying.

The WT made a good atheist out of me.

Boy, ain't that the truth! The Watchtower is one of the greatest generators of atheism ever invented. After giving it my best shot for 8 years, regular pioneering etc; I had enough and was very nearly an atheist myself at one time.

The watchtower has its interpretation of Revelation so convoluted, they envision God running around like a homicidal maniac killing everyone who doesn't go door to door placing WT literature.

In reality, Revelation predicts a coming one world government headed by the Anti Christ. It is the Anti-Christ who is responsible for the killing of 2/3 of the worlds population before the battle of Armageddon even begins, not God.

And, it is not much of a battle. With only one spoken word, King Jesus slays the army of 200 million who intend to conquer Israel one-last-time.

Armageddon is strictly a military action to save Israel.
