I personally have a problem with god condemning all of us for the sin of two people
Thankfully the bible doesn't teach this.
Excellent references Bobcat.... thanks

i know this is one huge rant, but i want to put my own questions and doubts in writing.. i am a fading jw who has become agnostic... i still believe in "god" and "jesus," but i simply cannot explain to people why i believe in them.
i just do.. about the existence of god: it is an infinite regress.
"all things were created by someone"... well... who created god?
The Silver fox experiment, The foxes were tamed, and they evolved into dogs with different colour fur and shaped noses
So one Canine turned into another Canine? That doesn't sound like Darwinian Evolution Macro-Evolution to me. Now, if someone could get a Fox to turn into Buzzard, I could get on board with that.

If there is no personal Judgment after you die, then Jesus' sacrifice is meaningless.
The WT seeks to destroy this truth several ways:
1. Your soul is not conscious of anything after you die - even though Rev. 6: 9 reads otherwise:
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the witness they had given. They shouted with a loud voice, saying: “Until when, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, are you refraining from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth? - NWT
2. You get a clean slate just by dying (Opening Post Subject)
3. Jesus didn't die for you personally; He died for Adam - This is in spite of WHO the bible says Christ died for:
The one who did not know sin, he made to be sin for us [Not Adam], so that by means of him we might become God’s righteousness. 2Cor. 5 (NWT)
4. They teach that we are living in Judgment Day Now - This in spite of the fact that the Bible says you get judged AFTER you die:
"it is reserved for men to die once for all time, but after this to receive a judgment" - Hebrews 9: 27 (NWT)

Thank You designs.
Yes, it is nice to experience the freedom to discover historic Christianity free from the pesecution ot the Watchtower.

Thanks Searcher. 1982 was the most recent example you posted. I wonder if they've beat that drum since then?
The context makes it hard to believe that anyone woud except that teaching.
ok so you had a bad experience and you stopped going to church which ever one that is.
but did you stop believing or are you that peeved you blame god etc.
i would encourage you to humble yourself before your messiah and seek him, he will let himself be found by you and come dwells within you.
I sought God through the methods of the Watchtower strenously for 8 years. It didn't work. I didn't get mastery over the things that the first century Christians did. I didn't experience a "new life in Christ". It was all about will-power and I was exhausted. It was very easy to become agnostic afterwards. I guess it was hard for me to swallow that all my efforts at pleasing God were rejected by him.
It was not a natural next step for me to put my trust in Christ Alone. Yet, I eventually did it anyway basically because nothing else was working. If a person seeks him (Jesus); he will be found to be very much alive.
there's quite a lot on tv just now about jesus.
i'm not sure anymore....was he the son of god, or just generally a good person?.
i'm not atheist or agnostic but i just want something real and true..
If you makes friends with God, through the blood covenant (and no other way) he will find YOU. You can count on it!

For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin. - Romans 6:7 (NWT)
I got a chance to witness to my dad scripture for scripture for one whole hour over the holidays. He was hung up on the above scripture. Of course the verse right before it shows it is a spiritual death:
For we know that our old personality was nailed to the stake along with him in order for our sinful body to be made powerless, so that we should no longer go on being slaves to sin. - Romans 6:6 (NWT)
Numerous other scriptures in Romans 6 & 7 and elsewhere show that the death here is a spiritual requirement and not a iteral one. ie. dying to oneself.
Even though this scripture is often repeated among JW's verbally to support the heretical position of receiving a "clean slate" when a person dies, I don't recall it being an official WT doctrine.
Has anyone seen this false doctrine in print anywhere by the WT ?
this is an interesting article from scientific american about a study on how prayer helps increase one's self-control through social connection.
this adds to previous research on the subject.
it's a short article and a worth read.. .
It's a shame they didn't find "THE" source. It is available to "whosoever".

Has actual evolution, i.e. the changes accumulating sufficiently to make ANOTHER species, been observed? If so, where? I would think that the smaller the species/the faster time to reproduce, the better chances to actually observe this.
I'd like to 2nd that question.
