  Jesus' death amounts to zero, according to the governing body's teachings!

  Virtually every human who has ever lived, wiped out all of their sins via their own death - they didn't need Christ to die for them.

  Watchtower May 15th 1982, pp. 8,9 - "The Bible explains that at death a person is set free or released from any sins he committed."

  Bible Teach p. 214 par. 3 - "..the judgment will not focus on what people did before they died... Those resurrected thus come to life with a clean slate, so to speak."

  If this doesn't merit being called "antichrist," then nothing dies!

  What Will JW's Do If They Find Themselves Still Conscious after Death?

  we all know that despite many scriptures to the contrary, jw's believe that when they die, their consciousness will cease.

  my question is this: what will be the likely reaction of jw's if they find themselves conscious after death?.

  Non-existent before, non-existent after.

  Acts 2:34 - "For David did not ascend into heaven.." (was David not good enough, but Lazarus was?)

  John 3:13 - "No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven - the Son of Man."

  Cost of living crisis

  during the height of the pandemic all elders had to report to the co anyone who was struggling with bills or who couldn’t pay the rent.

  the co reported it to the branch.. i don’t know what happens next.

  do the branch help at all?

  @ seabreeze - The average human lifespan is approx. 840 months, so when I hear professed Christians say that their righteous God is going punish/torture sinners for all eternity, I'd rather not get to know their "God."

  I used to think sending people to an Australian penal colony for stealing a loaf of bread was bad, but eternal torture for 840 months of sinning????? Nah! That ain't justice!

  they're fooled into believing false teachings about the name "jehovah," to subvert the name of christ.. prime example: w94 9/15 p. 10 par.

  This false teaching is based upon their false interpretation of this scripture:

  (Hebrews 13:15) "Through him [Jesus] let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that make public declaration to his name."

  What topic & name was to be "publicly declared?"

  (Romans 10:9) "For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved."

  The antichrists in Warwick should consider revealing "new lights" - they're worse than so-called apostates.

  the attitude of jw is that they expect it immediately although the inter-lapping anointed allows for any additional extended time.

  given the time of the end, the end comes after the good news is preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations with the internet and 108 years and tons of publications even in finnish.

  @ disillusioned JW - I think it would be reasonable to conclude that Jesus was referring to the preaching being done initially to the ones he was sent to - the dispersed lost sheep of Israel, i.e. Jews and the "world" of Judaism.

  After that work was completed, then his prophecies about pointed stakes, great tribulation, and destruction of the temple would then be fulfilled.

  Paul wrote Colossians 1:23 approximately 6 years before Jerusalem and the whole of Judea began to endure 3 1/2 years of great tribulation, followed by Jerusalem's destruction.

  @ Fisherman - isn't the org's tenuous teaching that Matthew 24 has a "greater fulfillment" the problem?

  Wasn't Matthew 24:14 fulfilled before 70 C.E. as Jesus described?

  (Matthew 24:14) "And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end [of the Jewish system] will come."

  (Colossians 1:23) "...not being shifted away from the hope of that good news that you heard and that was preached in all creation under heaven...."

  (1 Timothy 3:16) "He was made manifest in flesh...was preached about among nations, was believed upon in the world, was received up in glory."
