yesterday i had a real blast from my past turn up un-announced on my doorstep.
she bumped into my daughter (who has rejected me) in sainsbury's, took her to lunch and got my address from her.
she claims she has been searching for me ever since she discovered i was back in the uk.. she is a disfellowshipped sister who was described by one of our elders as a wagon.
Amelia: At least you gave it a gallant effort to help your friend. Even though she has been out for awhile she still can't bring herself to research about the BORG. Something drastic has to happen to your friend to help her see the need to investigate, sad to say.
But I agree with 20yearfader that at this point it's a waste of your time, she will only drag you down and make you frustrated. Live your life and be happy.

the woman brought a small brochure inviting me to the district convention here in gwinnett county, georgia on july 5, 6, and 7th.
the surprising thing to me is that the jws have modernized a little bit.
Every once and awhile they come by, but I don't answer the door. Don't have any more time for that stupid nonsense. Freedom is a beautiful thing.

when you were a believer did you give large donations to the society?
if so how much did you give?
i know an elder who's a chiropractor and he generously gives $400-800 a month to the society.
I might have gave 500.00 in the 40 years that I was an active Cult Member. I was a tight wad and Thank God for that. Jehovah needs to learn how to manage his money.
i purchased a condo late last year and due to my personal schedule, i wasn't able to redo it to my preferance until a few months ago.
all the heavy work is done.
now just replacing electrical outlets, fixtures and such.

in just the several months i've been lurking here, i have benefited from many of the posters comments and viewpoints.
this is truly a special place for the unique community that has been created here.. after years of holding off my exit from the org (that may be another post) i recently became officially out (by letter of da), but it was a very difficult process as many of you know.
thankfully, i now have my wife (was also a witness) onboard and we support each other.
