Oops - I should've added that not all single-mother households have "pussified" boys - I happen to know of a couple of women that are raising strong young men!

The Feminization of Boys..is it acceptable?
by Brummie innothing to do with jws but i thought it interesting anyway: .
the feminization of boysafter viewing 20/20's piece entitled, "a gender straitjacket", i have come to the conclusion that the mass leftist media needs a "sensitivity muzzle" when it comes to the feminization of the male gender.
a 15 minutes segment, filled with a quack named william pollack, telling me that 2 year old boys who paint their nails and play with barbie dolls is a normal thing, was more than my paunch could handle.

Couldn't agree with you more Brummie!!!! The pussification of America is what I call it (I read that some where - spot on).
But I think the problem lies with too many single-mother households and not enough good male role models.

Hey Lady - what is up with this???!!!!
I remember a post you started - I'll try to find it, but it was a post I will never forget, and think about everytime I'm feeling kinda down - the "10 Things You're Most Grateful For" thread - do you remember?
I also know a beautiful woman, who when I first started posting on these boards, reached out to me, who answered my posts, who cared enough to send hugs when needed, or just to respond when no one else did. A wonderfully talented woman, who even though had many ups & downs, and traumatic events in life, still found time to make OTHERS feel good, loved or appreciated. Someone who took alot of crap for no seemingly good reason, yet still kept her sense of humor & positive outlook on life. You are all those things, and you have touched many of us more than we've probably told you, and without you, this world would be a sadder place. You are needed, you are cared about & you are loved. This is what makes life worth living, and you have some of the greatest gifts already that some will never know....so don't take the sharing of that gift from those of us that DO consider your friendship such - it wouldn't be fair. I don't know what I would do if I ever logged on here and couldn't find a few Robdar words of wisdom, or beautiful poetry.
We're all here for you Robdar - just continue reaching out until you're back on your feet & your old self again.
Love You!

My philosophy paper on leaving the JWs...
by logansrun inyesterday i found a disk i had forgotten i still had.
it contained a paper i had written for a philosophy class i took last summer -- just about a month and a half after leaving the jws.
it's not the greatest treatise in the world and, today, i would have written it differently.

Divorce is now final
by Scooby inhi you guys... just thought i'd pass on my sadness for me to heal a little.. if that's okay.. i was in the "program" for 11 years, husband witnessed to me in college while he was inactive, we studied together, got baptized & married.
had rough times... but i loved him so much........unconditionally despite wt doctrine.
last 3 years we both started to miss meetings and question the bs.

(((Scooby))) - I have to agree, if your husband is behaving this way, he is not (nor sounds like has ever been) a "good" JW - he's using this religion as an excuse for his own self-chosen behavior. I know this hurts, but from the sounds of things, you will be much better off in the long run without him. If he's sleeping with God knows who - he'll eventually catch God knows what, or worse continue to hurt you with his deceit and adultery. You don't deserve that, you deserve better - remember that. There are many people (yes in the world) who are much better "christians" than this man sounds like he could ever be.
Keep venting, posting & maybe make some of the meet-ups - start making some new friends and a life for yourself - a life filled with happiness & unknown potential - you do deserve that!

Do you still believe in the debil?
by Brummie inwould you say the debil is a spirit creature (fallen) or do you think its just a descriptive word for the depravity of man?.
if you dont believe in the debil then you must still believe that humans have inherited sin ...right?
what other explanation is there?.
-
pettygrudger
I don't think I believe in the "debil" persee - but I do believe there are "negative" as well as positive forces (or energy) which we can be guided by - dependant upon our choices.
But, I have no brain this evening - and this conversation could get really deep - so I'll just say that Minimus is the cutest easter bunny/santa/debil I ever did see

(((Hamas))) - its okay to lose it once in awhile - just remember to take all the negativity with you and let it stay lost - and come back to the positive - its all there just waiting for you.
And if it helps - put it out here. sometimes just writing it all down gets it out - and you can hopefully "leave it here".

Replacing what was stolen
by Dawn ini have been heartbroken for many years because of the way my family treated me (brothers and parents) - not only because of my df'ing but even before that.
i come across as a pretty strong person to most everyone - but my closest friends and my husband know the truth because i can't really talk about it without starting to cry.. i had a revelation this week.
my old family was stolen from me.

Dawn - I couldn't agree with those sentiments more! I too had to find my way around in this world without too much family support - and I have to say that those that I now am fortunate enough to have in my life are better to me than my real family ever could. You don't get to pick the family you're born into - but you do get to choose with what family you will spend your life. Favorite line of mine from the Young Guns movie: "You get yourself a few good pals - you got yourself a tribe".
