i am thoroughly conviced that if the bible is to be believed as it is written, then god has gone out of his way to want all humans to be atheists.

he goes out of his way to convince people he couldn?t possibly exist, and if he does exist, he wants no one to follow him.

with the exception of the books of job, daniel and ezekiel almost all the other books of the old testament are full of gore, murder and genocide either from god himself, or upon the direct orders of god.

Adam didn't just sell his IMMEDIATE progeny; he sold ALL of his progeny

Well, when Jesus "repurchased" said progeny, why wouldn't the same rules have come into play?

And so... God is allowing time for ALL that Adam "sold"... who WISH to be... BE "covered"...

Why would this only taken 2,000 years or so? Why not 500 years, why not 10,000 years? etc. etc. etc. - it just never ends.

The simple fact in this "deal" - Adam supposedly sold our souls so to speak, and Jesus supposedly bought them back. Where in the contract does it say it was gonna take upteen 1000's of generations for the deal to revert? For every person that "chooses" to be covered or not covered, 2-3 more souls are born. So this is just simply not a logical response. God gave us the ability to reason, and there simply is none in this argument. It makes no sense.

Aguest - if God did in fact "repurchase" through Jesus, then why wasn't the "reward" immediate, as it was for Adam & Eve's "Punishment"? Why did it have to wait thousands of years?

Can anyone articulate his "domestic agenda"?

Bush I think started with an almost "Reagonistic" trickle-down economics plan.....but he's sold his soul to the devil in order to try to appease the masses. Let's take the tax cuts, Bush didnt fight hard enough to give Business owners what they deserved, and also gave in on giving tax rebates to those that were the "lowest" income families (who also paid the lowest in taxes). Many of the families that got a rebate check didn't even pay a dime in "federal tax" (no I'm not talking about Soc. Security or Fica). when the year had ended. So, due to his wishy-washiness, nobodies happy, companies are still leaving America for "greener" pastures, and pretty much everyone's spent the $300-600. bucks they were given. Economy isn't picking up, because people are still losing jobs, and its just turned to crap because he didn't have the backbone to force his plan. Maybe it would've worked, maybe it wouldn't have......we'll just never know.

But yes, from what I've seen of Clark, he is well articulated, intelligent. Maybe he is "the man" - but I still reserve until what I hear about his ideals on how our government should be run, and what he's going to do about such things as the NAFTA agreement, and enticing companies to stay at home and keep our people employed.

Any man that claims to understand women is a liar

And to add to that, and at no disrespect to my breathren! I have to say that most women who claim to understand women (or men for that matter) are liars (not all).

Don't get me wrong, my hubby calls me a nazi-feminist at times. But it seems that our society is sending alot of mixed & wrong signals to our girls and young women, and perhaps this is a good thing - time will tell.

Yes, I think I have an "inkling"...but I don't think anyone in our generation can truly understand the sacrifices we would have to make in order to restore balance to our government. Besides, that's more of a societal "ilk" imho. It's how we've stopped teaching our children to be all they can be, and instead taught them how to go after all they can get, which of course they are automatically entitled to.

I hear the passion in your words regarding Clark, but really - this still hasnt answered my question - what is his domestic agenda?

MY Wal-Mart Experience Today.

well, there i was out in front of wal-mart today.

i'm wearing my yellow smock that says "helping the mentally disabled" and "knights of columbus" yep, it's the beginning of that time of year...the time when we pass out tootsie rolls and accept donations giving the money to the mentally hanidcapped.. anyhow, the way our group does it...we offer the tootsie roll to anyone that wants one...even if they don't choose to make a donation.... you wouldn't believe how many people just could not believe that we would actually just give them a tootsie roll without them giving us a donation...one guy just walked away and says "there's gotta be a catch" it took me three minutes to explain to this one woman that regardless of whether or not she gave a donation i would still give her a tootsie roll, even if she told me in advance that she wasn't going to give me a donation.

i guess people really aren't used to getting something for nothing.. sure, it's my hope that after giving them a tootsie roll they'll give a donation...but the other motive is just to get them the tootsie roll that also has the "knights of columbus" name on the wrapper (specially printed for the knights).

Seriously Yeru - why do you think the policy is to hand out "free" tootsie rolls? How many people do you know would feel comfortable taking one of those candies and not giving a donation (probably more than the amount that they would get if you "charged" them)? Not many.

How much have you gotten in your life handed to you for free, no strings attached? just curious.

I'm sorry, I misspoke. Raising the mpg average on cars will definitely help the overall situation as far as our dependence on foreign oil, but its a twisted complicated affair isn't it? Its our consumers that demand the SUV's and the power - gas hungry engines. The car manufacturer's only make what the consumer will buy - its customer driven. Where are the lines for the "hybrid's" ? There aren't any. I can't afford one. I personally drive my little Geo-Prism that I'm happy with - even w/2 kids (albeit a "little crowded" at times) - 35mpg city.

Anyways, the bottom line is, that until I hear a real agenda as far as domestic & foreign policy goes, my vote goes to no one yet. I'm looking for that politician who's "conservative" economically, willing to make us American's go through a painful rebirth of less dependence on our own government, even if it will cost him a 2-term presidency. One who is also intelligent enough to have the right staff in place & a good head on his/her shoulder's regarding our foreign policy - including relooking at our stance in the Isreali/Palestinian affair and our "presence" in so many countries of the world. Bush so far is "chicken sh*t" in my opinion regarding his domestic agenda - he's trying too hard to appease the "left" by giving them all they want on the domestic front - which is way too much, and more than we American's should expect from our government. And then, on the opposite side, he's too arrogant to realize that he's not the ruler of the world, and can't dictate behaviors based on his own whims & wants.

Clark, I don't know yet - but that's why I'm asking you all - why him? What's he going to do on the domestic side of things besides pushing for increased mpg averages on auto's?

So I'd raise average-mileage performance on automobiles. That's something we can do right now that will decrease our oil dependence - but it's something the administration has dragged its feet on.

Now there's 1 idea for problem solving I saw in the entire article -

Okay, I heard him list alot of the problems that everyone knows exists, especially in the middle east. Don't hear alot of solutions here, especially in light of our economic crisis (and don't tell me its not a crisis situation). The above "solution" actually causes more problems than it helps.

Where's the domestic solutions - real solutions, real agenda's.

Foreign policy - A "council" for Isreal & Palestine? Give me a break - we've had "councils" going on now since at least 1968 - aint' working.

I don't agree with our decision to invade Iraq - absolutely 100% was against this war. But, now that this can has been opened, there aint' no closing it.
