This can't be easy Yeru - but you seem to have a lot of strength & courage. Maybe this is exactly what she needs to truly take responsibility for her own mental health, to the betterment of your entire family.

i'm thinking about taking a break from this place for awhile.. one of the reasons i came here was because of the way jws have been so mean to me.
i don't like to see people be mean to each other.. lately i have been seeing people i care about being very mean to each other and me.
i just can't handle that.. please don't be mean.

And Elsewhere - you'll be missed too. It is tough to be seeing 2 you care about go at each other - but if you leave you might miss seeing same 2 making amends and finding common ground.
Breaks are absolutely necessary imho. I myself can get so caught up in reading every word that sometimes just for your own sanity a break to touch the "real world" is important.

what would make you come back to the organisation?
after the 9-11 events, many were scared of what would happen next, and returned to the meetings.
now that the dust has fallen, in more ways than one, what event in your life would make you reconsider and go back this time for good.. .
I suppose if God gave me a miracle like an arrow pointing from the heavens saying "this is the true religion - go here" I might consider it. But he and I would have to have some serious discussion regarding the lack of love in his organization. I
i personally feel that the single biggest problem in modern society, is the lack of taking personal responsibility for our own actions.
i think that as a culture we have allowed people the room to make excuse after excuse, and accept these as something that should be legit.
well w e see kids raised in families that love them, feed them, take care of them to the best of their means.
Sorry Francois - blaming the governments is just another way to to not take responsibility. If you want to blame someone - blame the parents. We overprotect our children from their actions, we over indulge them in an effor to give them a better life. We excuse all their wrong choices, and try to build "friendships" with our children instead of true "parent/child" relationships. We haven't found the balance between over-strict & spoiling said children rotten - hence the product is children who don't feel like they're wrong for anything & feels like the world owes them everything.
i remember one winter morning when i was 4 my mother telling me to put on my dress, we were going to the neighbor's house.
as we walked along, i noticed that my mother was carrying a steaming casserole dish.
i asked her what we were doing.
I was to young to remember vietnam - I was only 1. But I had an uncle that served. He never got over whatever happened to him over there, nor would he ever talk about it. Growing up, I remember hearing my mother & father discuss my Uncles depression & mental unbalance. Nothing could help him. He attempted suicide 3x & was in & out of the VA hospital for the last 30 years.
Sadly, 3 weeks ago this same uncle ran around his front yard with a broomstick he had made appear to be a gun. Because of his recently found religious beliefs, he couldn't commit suicide, so he made himself appear so dangerous the cops shot him to death. All the family knows it was all the talk of "war" again that sent him into the deep depression he couldn't get out of. If only we had known how far he had gone.
This just proves, its not only those that die in war - its also those that must serve & then try to come home & rebuild their lives with what ever experiences they must bring back with them.

it looks like we might really be going to war (they voted against us) iraq is getting an antidote for nerve gas (sounds like they are preparing) i fear that israel will drop a bomb on them.if this happens all hell will break loose.

When have we ever severely rebuked Isreal for their war crimes? Other than that I'm hoping what you say is right Elsewhere. I'm hoping the Iraqi people have enough left in their hearts to trust us one more time & this time we will actually finish what was begun 11 years ago. Then we can turn our attention to one of the biggest thorns in the sides of the Arab countries as regards to our foreign policy - Isreal.
I wonder though, will we have the Iraqi people's trust this time? After leaving the rebels out in the wind the last time, I wonder how welcome we will be.
As far as a "great tribulation" - as Elsewhere said, all countries are in support of the latest UN resolution. If it were different, if Russia, France & the lot were against this, then your point may have credence. As it is a global effort, including both King of the North & South (whoever they are), then I think not, unless someone changes their mind.

Glad to hear you're alright - has everyone else from that area "reported in?". My condolences to the family that lost their son - these types of tragedies just never make any sense.
But, on a positive note, once again Americans have shown their determination, courage & love for their neighbors & strangers. Isn't it strange that it always takes a tragedy to remember what we're really made of? Food for thought.
