  While I agree the "thin mattress" is a little weak, the others complaints imho are valid. We are innocent until proven guilty in this country folks - that thats not guilty by common opinion.

  If he's a vegetarian - although I agree with Gophers first sentence - he should be allowed to maintain whatever diet he lives by. And also, not allowing a prisoner to read is wrong - simply wrong. This kid is only 17 years old. Although his alledged crimes are horrendous, he still has basic rights. He's being charged as an adult in a state that almost guarantees him a death penalty upon conviction. If he wants to read until then, I say his civil rights are being violated.

  Shunning.....

  i could never really understand why jw's shunned the d'f or d'a persons.i have always tought it to be really unloving and cruel,i mean ignore the person and act like their invisable,no i wont do it.

  well hello,im back.i have been ok past week, well to start my story off,i want to paint my room,so my mom and i went to walmart yesterday to buy some paint.we meant up with one of my mom jws friends and her 2 daughters,one is dissfellowshipped,the daug.that is d/f my family and her were really close,and she was like a big sister to me,she was also so sweet and very loving,shes 18, anyways after we were about to leave my mom goes,"i cant help it im going give desiree a hug"wow she did,my mom is not wicked after all,(i always would talk to her when i would see her and give her a hug,whenevr we would meet up some place,hehe)well i went give her a big hug too,and it felt good,and i hope she got some sort of comfort knowing that not everyone feels she is an evil person.

  anyways while we were driving home,my mom says to me,u know people either gonna think were spiritually weak for doing that,are that we are very nice.i was like let them,i feel im doin the right thing by not acting like shes not a person.i hate shunning!!

  Shytears - do you think Jesus would've wanted you to shun her?

  That policy of theirs has destroyed so many families, and lately I've been hearing of another family just torn apart by this stupid rule!!!! Its got to be the most unchristian like thing I know.

  Don't worry about how "man" views you - only God can judge your heart.

  my hubby & i had a debate tonight, so i'm kinda taking a poll..... my hubby says we should stop immigrations and start closing up the borders - except in cases of political asylum or a family member.

  I know what you mean - but this place can get so hectic sometimes - you learn to appreciate both.

  You'll meet lots of cool people here too.

  And yeah - its finally nice to meet another from Michigan too (there are a few here). I feel like we might even be able to have an actual Apostofest sometime soon!

  years ago, everybody seemed to talk to their neighbors, and knew just about everything about them, where they work, knew alot about them.

  but now a days, we know much more people on the internet, than real live people in front of us.

  I can say that making friends has always been easy since leaving the JW's - but maintaining long term relationships with friends have been difficult. When you're entire world is cut out from under your feet, its kinda hard to want to learn to trust others again. There's always a sense that it might get taken away again....if that makes any sense.

  I can remember as a child this "excitement" in the air around Xmas time. There did seem to be an actual difference to me - I can't explaing it. I always got into trouble for humming on the xmas carols I'd hear in the stores - EVIL songs. And even knowng Xmas was "wrong", I still always felt a little happier in the weeks around the holiday, even though there was nothing in particular I was looking forward to.

  after reading about how we now have an increase in the lord's organization, i must wonder whether we think that their data is reliable.

  the society has used "theocratic stratergy" for years and lied about anything that is in their best interests.

  why take any stock in what they say about anything.
