While I agree the "thin mattress" is a little weak, the others complaints imho are valid. We are innocent until proven guilty in this country folks - that thats not guilty by common opinion.
If he's a vegetarian - although I agree with Gophers first sentence - he should be allowed to maintain whatever diet he lives by. And also, not allowing a prisoner to read is wrong - simply wrong. This kid is only 17 years old. Although his alledged crimes are horrendous, he still has basic rights. He's being charged as an adult in a state that almost guarantees him a death penalty upon conviction. If he wants to read until then, I say his civil rights are being violated.
