  i'm only to page 130 - so perhaps my questions will be answered further down the line, but i don't want to wait to get to the end of the book!!!.

  why were neither n. knorr nor f.franz reproved for their obvious vocal dissension with the governing body?

  if any r/f member had acted the way they had, they would have been df'd.

  Undecided - I don't know - my copy is the 3rd Revision (I understand there's a 4th). My copy is dated 2002. I don't have your edition to compare, and as I have just begun reading - I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will know.

  When I analyze my contributions to this world, I find myself lacking. Any memory of my existance[ecept for my immediate family] will vanish upon my demise. I have not "saved" the world with a miracle cure or brokered world peace. I have not contributed to advance knowledge by research. I have not even improved my own knowledge[ I have had ample opportunities] to facilitate my doing any of the afore mentioned things.

  So, what's wrong with now?

  My father went back to school at about your age - to become a teacher.

  You still have a life to live - just figure out how you want to do it.

  Thanks - and no - but you had me worried for a moment!

  But, althought the boards tended to be "subservient" to Rutherford, with what the Watchtower itself was publishing - this would have been all the GB needed for total empowerment - i.e. Knorr would not have had a leg to stand on if the GB had been paying attention. They could have used his & Franz "public" opposition as a way to "oust" them if they so chose, or at least they should have been privately reproved!!! My point was that if ANY RANK/FILE member had done 1/10th of what they had done, they would be labeled an "apostate" and would have stood to lose so much by being df'd. HYPOCRISY HYPOCRISY HYPOCRISY!

  Actually, I've been out of the "truth" for many a moon (years). But, my secret santa sent me COC and yes I am eagerly reading it (lol - I've had it for 2 days & already read 130 pages - but them are some big pages!!!)

  There is a lot to digest - and I plan on buying some of the other books as well.

  Sleigh Ride, Anyone?

  i finally got my keyboard to communicate with my computer and have recorded my favorite holiday song.

  it's in a streaming audio format and should be ok with most modern audio players.

  i know it works with winamp.

  I'm not questioning Ray Franz Danny - I'm sorry if my questions appear this way.

  It just really amazes me how little the GB knew of what was really going on, how little they had to do with "imparting spiritual food" and how unable/uninterested they were in protecting their best interests - especially after the Rutherford era.

  Your comments are all welcome - but I still can't help but wonder.

  Given the history of the board, especially under Rutherford's presidency - I find it odd that the GB wouldn't have found Franz & Knorr's public "talks" (i.e. the Bethel dinners) to be a direct threat towards usurping their authority. Since they had the vast responsibility for deciding "disfellowshipping offenses", wouldn't they have wanted Knorr & Franz put in check so to speak?

  I also find it amazing the material that Knorr & Franz were able to put into Watchtowers that wasn't allowed in public talks.....didn't the GB read the material that was presented to the r/f AFTER it had been published to know that this type of thing was going on?

  Ozzie - I'll ask again here, are any of your "recommendations" on the "lighter" side, or is the taste usually more robust (heavier?) flavor?

  And, do any of your recommendations come for under $20.00 (US) dollars?

  "Wine for Dummies" - they haven't written that book yet - and inquiring minds need to know before the upcoming holiday festivities commence!

  Why were neither N. Knorr nor F.Franz reproved for their obvious vocal dissension with the Governing Body? If any R/F member had acted the way they had, they would have been df'd. This went above "murmerings". Also, the GB obviously did little up until then but decide which actions (per case basis almost it would seem) were disfellowshipping actions. Was apostacy not considered a df'ing offense until later? Because, from what I've come to read so far, it appears both could have easily been construed as "apostates".
