God goes further, and implicates all his servants in the bloodletting of the innocents: requiring his armies to 'devote to destruction' whole cities, even nations. Instructions such as, 'let not your eye feel sorry for the mother or suckling child,' were issued by his prophets and were obeyed.

Nowadays, Jehovah's blood-lust has not slowed by much, for his 'witnesses' still sacrifice themselves at his altar, or their innocent children, even babies who are completely innocent, knowing nothing about their parent's sanguinary God, Jehovah, or his ambitious organisation, even these are offered up. And looking forward, as JWs now do, to a global judgement involving the deaths of 6-7+ billion humans, Jehovah appears to be preparing his masterpiece of bloodletting. So Jehovah has done more than fail himself and humanity, he has been the most enduring and notorious violator of his own standards. Merely describing Jehovah as a hypocrite is too much of an understatement, it is like calling Joseph Stalin a thug.

BIBLE - Inspired Word of God?

For me, the bible is old literature. It's about answers and questions, but one can't sum it up with anything so trite as 'the washing machine manual for living' as per JWs. The more I read it the more diverse it appears in it's scope, and the less relevant for today, especially when you consider Science.

The bible writings have been treasured through the ages more highly that any rare commodity, and so they have been subjugated by jealous authorities. My hunch is that these jealous ones have never been the same ones who did the writing, as creativity tends to be radical more often than conservative.

i applaud the fact that he once was able to bring himself to that point.

Calling you dumb 39 times, Mishnah, would that make someone insane? In your progressive opinion, I suppose it would. But if they called you dumb for defending dumb positions, i.e. for skirting around or ignoring copious evidence that contradicted those dumb positions, wouldn't that be fair? I found AF's use of 'dumb' excessive, but in the context of his tireless and painstaking debate with Dunnscot, perfectly understandable. Looking back on your posts, I am far more concerned about your mental health than Alan's.
