Hey Dunscott! Can you do Immanentism next?

arguments from natural theology are at times needed when christians defend the faith against atheological attacks.
yet, for the christian, such apologetic maneuvers are not required in and of themselves, for christians know that they are not in a relationship with a force or an abstract superlative entity devised by human adroitness.
no, christians heed the sensus divinitatis and the confirmatory evidence that god provides to those who love him.
Hey Dunscott! Can you do Immanentism next?

for me that is a hard question to answer.
it seems like when your in the borg it is always pounded in your head that you need to do more so they made you think you were never doing enough.. the last five years that i was in it i guess you could say i was pretty gung-ho, i regulare pionered for almost three years as well as served as a ms, i used my home for book study as well as saturday field service.. but you know what all that does not amount to a hill of beans, you know why?
because the whole time i was a doubter, i never liked it from the time i was a kid.
:You cannot be open minded and be a Dub.
Hmmm. I hate this term. It means so many things and, in the round, almost nothing. A dub is open minded to crap from the GB crap peddlars, but congratulates his discriminating mind in blocking out every other source of knowledge.

last night, i found myself wondering aloud about something i never thought i would consider: purchasing a gun.
previously, i had very strong anti-gun sentiments.
i felt, and still do to some extent, that freely available guns in this country are an immediate threat to children and add to the violent perception others have of americans.
: Are you still a pacifist?
Absolutely not. I think pacifism is little more than denial of reality and moral responsibilty. I would neverthless be very careful before I took the king's shilling that I was doing it for moral reasons. Then, just point me at the bad guys...ratatt rattat brrrrrrrrr

When I started to become a JW, one thing I did was boast about how bad I had been as a worldly person. I did it to enhance the effect of my truthful transformation, to display my understanding of the world in the light of new truth. All the time my Christian personality, that I had put on, was just that - put on, and it was the thinnest coldest garment I had. So I am a little more careful now when I describe my personal 'transformation' on leaving the borg, in case I am only kidding myself again.
No criticism of anybody intended, it's just a personal reflection.

This was from the old Great Teacher book, I take it, illustrating the resurrection: "two little dickie-birds sitting on a wall...come back Peter, come back Paul."

i am absolutely heartsick over this.
we don't need more oil at the expense of every other living thing on the planet.
i am not going to rant on because if i get started i'll be frothing at the mouth in jig time.
For the 'merkins' in Britain, and her proud territories, a gallon is 4.54 litres. Ha ha ha.
Jan, seeing your hair, I guess you have a motorbike. Though I can't see any bugs in those distinguished whiskers.

how quickly do they announce a da?
it was last friday when my husband and i da'd ourselves.
this was just a verbal statement, i am not wasting a piece of paper and a stamp, just to tell them the same thing all over again.
To Sarah or anyone,
what does it take to get DAd nowerdays? Seriously speaking, what are the criteria?

What do the WTBTS have an international affairs department for, preventing Mexico-Malawi cock-ups perhaps? Or is Judas simply a guy who can speak lots of languages... in American english.

the wtbts is looking to the perfection of the obedient humans in happiness.
but they have also acknowledged the psychological truth that happiness is not a state we can arrive at, but is a process of change, transformation and book selling.. my question is, is the idea of humanity ever being perfectly happy fundamentally flawed?
do we need to be discontent as humans in order to continue human progress, transformation etc and gain temporary happiness along the way?
Andee,
I think it is important that a life have direction and meaning
Yes. To me, 'direction' is much the same as motion, while 'meaning' means [] having connection in with other phenomena. We collect, and try to connect, all our meanings together and call it 'life'.
My life right now is dedicated to raising two decent human beings (my children) that will, hopefully, will be released into this world to do good things. Sounds trite? Maybe. However, I actually do not see anything more important in this world to do, than that.
Doesn't sound trite at all. Without life there might as well be no earth, or universe. And anyway, I have a soft spot for humans. It's all human rationalistic bigotry, I know, but I'm stickin' to it.
Thanks for your practical post, feet on the ground n' all.
