i have a really difficult problem on my hands and i would very much appreciate some input.. some years ago, my wife and i offered accomodation to a female relative - lets call her auntie molly - who was experiencing some marriage problems.
it was a disaster.
she was irrascible, moody and incredibly badly behaved.

Wasn't that a rather shallow note from you, Teejay, surely you recognise that the WTBTS has broken "Caesar's laws" before, and considers God's laws (as defined by their own authority) to be above Caesar's. They only have to say "we mus obey God as ruler rather than men".
You want examples? They won't involve murder, but once you teach a higher law than Caesar's, dub law, murder becomes a matter of degree.

i'd never fully realised it before, but jw's can't stand being laughed at.
they take themselves and their tinpot religion so seriously!.
oh, i know that they expect to be mocked and persecuted, they love all that because they think that prophesy is being fulfilled, but they do go bananas at the "what?
Great crack Englishman! Just a shame dub-in couldn't have enjoyed it with good ole English self-deprecation.

this is a purely hypothetical question, but i feel it is illuminating to address it.
if you find me arcane, i don't blame you, so skip the italics, and go to the quick question in bold, further down.
i only wrote this piece as a 'cold shower' after coming waaay too close to think41self in the chatroom!.

Thinking about the control recipe that the WTBTS has constructed: what if they wrote Jehovah out completely? What person or thing would fill the gap?
What word would JWs use to punctuate their prayers, and fill the gaps with?
What would replace the very important expressions:-
"leave it to Jehovah", for stopping thought, and
"Jehovah's people", for group identity
Also, what if they wrote Satan out of the recipe?
What entity would become the new embodiment of opposition to JWs?
What expression would replace "Satan's world"
What person or concept would be used to glue the Old and New Testaments together?
Where would JWs go to find new support for Original Sin
Could they maintain the idea of a "Theocratic Warfare against Satanic forces"?
Quicky: Which deletion would be the more far-reaching and difficult: Jehovah or Satan. And what does this say about Jehovah's Witnesses as a religion?

i have just finished making phone calls informing the family of the death of my stepfather.
i was an adult when he married my mother, but i loved him very much.
he was a wonderful man.. although he was a faithful jw, for his entire life (he was born to it) he was a really good man, and a true christian, i believe.
I just want to say that having read about this man I am reminded there is hope for all of us. Think of you.
Thanks, philo
when i was separating from my wife and leaving the jws, i had some visions.
for some strange reason, i decided not to eat for a day, then when i found my thinking clearer and my emotions mellower, i fasted for another two days.
so after the third day, i was walking down our street and i saw the houses burning after me, i felt this was an affirmation that marriage was decay and destruction, or wasteage.
Susanhere,
Just saying I have been really enjoying all your posts lately; "voice of sanity". (Btw, you don't wear tight leather gear like Prisca, do you? )

Even if JWs never did turn their hands to God's work as Alan described, the fact that JWs have been taught to hate, taught to regret that 'superior authorities' prevent them stoning apostates today, and arguably, are taught to view them as SUB-HUMAN - regardless of the 'likelihood of the scenario' such teaching deserves attention. YOu want us to talk about the Arabs and Jews or something????

The pic is Andrea Corr, singer in the Corrs. I understand she plays the fiddle and blows a fine horn too.

How can you say that WT propaganda is not "real stuff" that should be attacked? Wake up, it doesn't get much more real.

Winston,
I like your imagination.
One brother was so happy he broke down and cried.
That is perfect! There's always one in Propagandia who does this.
