Can it be proven that the WTS is NOT God's personal organization?

To a large degree, I agree with JT and his outlook on life and the universe in general and seeing God there.

At least I do to that point where I no longer know or understand what he is trying to say.

This is not saying that JT is wrong or unable to deliver his message. It is, I think, due to my pragmatic thought processes and a suspiscious feeling about anything involving God and mysterious "to me" about things I can't see, feel, smell or taste.

Your last post I found I could understand most of it. So, either you are getting better at delivery or I am getting better at understanding esoteric belief systems.

Either way, I enjoy your posts.

THE ONLY THING I FIND EXTRAORDINARY ABOUT THE WBTS IS THEIR.

EXTRAORDINARY NEGATIVE EFFECT ON ITS MEMBERS.

EXTRAORDINARY PUNITIVE ACTIONS.

EXTRAORDINARY FAILURES AT BEING PROPHETS,

EXTRAORDINARY DISHONESTY.

i thought it might be interesting to see where everyone is...home...work...someplace interesting?.

i'm in the world trade center in boston, sitting looking out at boston harbor.

i have to do a presentation today at the build boston show... a tradeshow for architects and builders.

I am in our house along the Weiser river in Idaho. I need to go out and get the things we will take to our week end retreat in Oregon, but it is to cold outside.

So I decided to check out here and see if anything outstanding has happened on jwd.

Na same old same old, wbts still exists and the insults still fly.

We need another scandal like the UN thing so things get more exciting.

Oh well, put my jacket on and drag myself out into the cold.

i have not see anyone mention this..... but it seems to me that money is the one unifying force the world over, as more and more countries become just different aspects of the corporate world world peace seems more likely than anything religion has ever been able to accomplish... war is bad for business over all which is something you dont hear with regard to drug trafficking.... the more an area is dominated by one drug dealer the more peaceful the neighborhood as he finds violence on his turf to interfer with his money.

The Dumbed Down Awake Sinks Lower ( May 8)

the latest awake has, on its final inside page, a section called "for family review" that consists of questions.

that witless families can ask their kids after they've read the magazine.

this new feature follows questions.

Why is the new version of the awake so lacking and confusing??

Think about it for a minute or so guys.

In bethel we have almost all men of varying ages. Most were raised in jw families with all their mental turmoil and fears.

Men who are NOT married, working for a living, raising children, trying to pay for a house a car medical bills and on and on.

Very little secular education if any at all. Add to that, a self imposed lack of experience with society in general.

This is what we have trying to write a magazine, attractive to children and their parents???

Oh I almost forgot "they are with the group of self proclaimed" governing body.

You know, " gods only organization on earth"

When I was in my late 20's early 30's I managed an industrial parts store. One of our outside salesmen was a very happy smiling all the time guy. He was also a good salesman.

Many many times he suggested that "I should ask him about joining the masons" I guessed that he could not offer this option to me, I had to ask for it.

Well being a jw I had no true knowledge of them. Just the "you can't trust anybody" especially an organization thing.

So I just laughed it off.

Now nearing 70 yrs I wonder how life would have been if I had joined up.

I doubt they are interested in old farts like me joining.

i have been trying to improve my dancing lately, but the harder i try the worse it gets.

Why remember the bad treatment?

there are people who have had bad experiences and don't look back.

but many people on this forum remember it and post about it almost, if not, everyday.

personally, i've had my share of bad moments.

I remember the struggle it was to remain amongst a group of people who looked down on me and my family and the damage and confusion in me and my wife and children because we didn't fully fulfill the demands of the wbts.

We were and are good people. We live good lives of honesty and caring for others and now that most have left the org and I df'd because I was angry at the elders "fits of rage was the charge", we are looked upon as worthless apostates deserving of death.

It is this forum and counseling and time that have helped heal me.

Now I come to this forum with the hope of helping others with their struggles and fears and anger as they leave the jw cult.

To be on this forum and watch others heal and help each other and offer help to those like you, that have questions and doubts, kind of makes up for the guilt we now have for having brought our families and others into this cult or for staying in the cult after we saw it for what it really is .

When one is born into a cult controled family, it takes some time for the damage done from birth on to be recognized and then heal and construct the genuine personality we never really had.

For some this comes quickly and for some it takes time.

Question-- Should I inform the Sheriff??

for those of you who dont already know by now, the sheriff's deputy who told us to stop picketing last thursday works for the very same department that i do.

she works patrol, and i work corrections.

i remember when she used to work in the jail a few years ago, but im not sure if she recognized me.

I agree with MKR. Having been a sheriff's deputy I learned that the sheriff is just another political office.

All politicians are afraid of anything controversial that may end up in the local news paper.

His first reaction will be to say NO I don't want an officer doing this on my watch.

If he doesn't say this it will still be his first thought. If you like this job or really need it, don't risk the consequences.

Take your efforts out of this county and remain quiet about it among your fellow workers.

Anyone Feel Guilty For Not Going To The Memorial or For Going This Year?

Haven't gone to the "see the wine and crackers" act for about 14 yrs now.

I have no feelings at all, one way or the other.

I guess it is now, just a non issue with me.
