>>i don't understand.
i honestly do not understand how active jws can be presented with hundreds upon hundreds of cases that have occurred all over the world, and casually deny that there is any problem.<<.

as witnesses, we were frequently counselled to either do or not do things on the basis of not injuring the consciences of others.
to give an example, i used to always grow a beard whilst i was on vacation.
note, i am not particularly hung up on the right to wear a beard, i do not wear one now and i was never too bothered about shaving it off when i returned from vacation.. however, one year i didnt shave the vacation growth off immediately.
I was counseled by an elder one time when I bought a new tie. The newer ones were wider than the old ones and it upset him. He was also upset with a talk I gave on the school and counseled me for refering to the anointed as the one hundred forty four thousand He said correct english is to say the one hundred AND forty four thousand. I was given the very vital assignment of monitoring the kingdom halls thermostat. Believe it or not this was an issue of much dispute, where to set the thermostat. I and only I was given the authority to do this. This same jerk aforementioned came to me with the accusation that I wasn't doing it to his satisfaction and they could always get some one else to do this. I leaned down close to his face "he was a miniature elder" and said why don't you do just that. Later after I was df'd "which I thanked them for" I saw this same Mimiature jerk in the mall. Being somewhat maliscious I decided to check him out. I put this frown on my face and altered course to intercept him. He looked up saw me and took off on a run.
p.s. after the issue about using "and" in any number I would specifically leave it out and look right at him as I did so.His face would get beet red each time.
what's the most outrageous thing that you were personally told ,while in the organization??
?
After my first wife abandoned me and my 4 children 18 months old to 11 years old I was told this would not have happened if I had been regular in meeting attendance. What really pisses me off is that to some degree I BELIEVED THEM!!
i have had two sons with depression and suicidal thought be disfellowshipped with the elders saying that there was nothing they could do; that depression was not an excuse for wrongdoing.
i can't help but feel that this misses the point, that the depression could be contributing to the behavior and that the df'ing could push them over the edge.
anyone else interested in pushing the society on this matter?
Isn't it odd that the organization that is directed by Jehovah through the holy spirit is so wishy washy
with disputes between hardliners and others? They have to have a vote taken to decide an issue and it has to be a two thirds vote to change or adopt an issue?
Jehovah--- no no---the wbts truly does work in strange ways.
dear outoftheorg:.
satan tempted jesus (without success).
peter , all the other disciples with some success.
Uh yeah. Well you keep trying, maybe you will solve the problem.
first i just want to say how much this forum has helped me.
i get on here every day and read what's new.
i am 27 years old and have been married since i was 18 (since there isn't anything else for a good sister to do besides get married or pioneer and i wasn't about to pioneer.
If he pulls away when you push, stop pushing! Slow down and let him get over the shock of your decision. Ask a question about something like the un thing and then drop it. Avoid Issues like beliefs trinity- christ etc. stick with things like blood issue changes transplant changes the change in military service options the things that show inconsistancies. Be calm loving and kind. He didn't get to where he is over night it took time. It will take him time to see these things. Keep viewing here and you will see the tactics that are working. Several here have been through what you are facing. Ask questions and you will get some very good advice.
Wish you the very best.
i recall vividly my teenage years when i was the eldest son of a colourful po.
until you have spent several days residing at the home of the po of a large congregation, you can have no idea what sagas and dramas are played out day after day by the publishers in many congregations.. publishers, ms's, elders, they all want the ear of the po.
in effect, many publishers become totally unable to make even the smallest decision without first of all contacting the po.
HIGHLITES IN YOUR HAIR? THAT IS DISGUSTING.
Your post sure dredged up a memory for me. My ex wife still a dub had developed a case of depression. Her sister stopped by "she is a hair dresser" and suggested lets do something with your hair. That should cheer you up. So guess what was done? HIGHLITES IN HER HAIR! I don't know what caused it but this became another source for concern in my ex wives mind. The overfull of himself CO stopped by to pry into my business as to why I was no longer thrilled about going to the very boring meetings or trying to induce my neighbors to go there with me. After some time of me trying to appear somewhat theocraticly correct and still not divulge my disgust with all things JW. my wife blurted out "what do you think about my hair"? This pious bag of nonsense replied "I think it makes you look cheap". As if it was any of his damned business?
Now my ex being the good JW wife would surely accept the advice of the head of the familys "me" good advice. Right? I told her I thought it looked good on her and to ignore his comment. Hell no! She began scurrying around like a demented tree squirrel to get the hair dye and get rid of the CO certified evil. The highlites in her hair. I wish my spell check worked here. I am wearing out my dictionary.
would love to chat with you.. joe.

Go back to any ex jw's in boise for info,
the following email was sent to me today, if anyone would like to send and encouraging comment to loris i will be glad to forward it to her.
all she did was tell the truth and now she is facing sanction in the congregation.
so according to wt pr you are not sanctioned if you go to the police but you are sanctioned if you talk about it.
loris you did what you think is the right thing. I and all others here agree with you. The vast manority of the public at large agree with you. You did nothing wrong. If they df you that is their loss. Stand up for your rights and if you wish take the legal steps to discourage them. However it turns out you will always have the backing of all on this forum.
I am df'd and I am enjoying my new found freedom and self respect. Only some minor problems with family and shunning. I can live with that. I think you can also. We can no longer bow down to an org that has no love or conscience regarding its followers.
You have no reason to feel embarrrassed. Feel proud and justified instead.
