my (non-jw) grandmother is visiting from the southwest this week.

the usual family get-togethers are planned.

my ms younger brother was complaining to me about how unreasonable our (jw) mother is being.

Don't be surprised over the emotional reaction. A man a real man still has the right to react to very sad things in genuine grief.

I have read several posts here and elsewhere that brought tears. It is the normal thing to do.

I think part of it is that it brings to the front the thought less senseless things our own relatives and friends trapped in the Borg have done to us and will continue to do.Now we see it happening to others. Also there is the apparent inability on our part to change their conduct or their lack of respect for family ties. This is extremely frustrating and obviously unfair. This alone is enough to bring tears.

Hopefully some of the problems the wbts are having will open their eyes and we will see some changes in our families conduct.

WERE YOU A WITNESS FU**?

a very good friend of mine ,who was an elder at the time, accurately came up with an expression when somebody acted in a certain way.

let's say a person was a real goody 2 shoes, always supporting the organization, and probably either lierally or figuratively, screwing his brother or sister, he would be labeled a "real witness fu**.

" toward the end of his eldership , he was pretty much calling everybody "a witness fu**.

Hey Zenpunk-- You say your mother wanted you to be more like so and so.

I have a good one for you. My mother was always on my case to be more THEOCRATIC minded.

She would say "why can't you be more like" super publisher. Well Years later I ran into super and he was also out of the org. I told him about my mother using him as a role model when in my teens. He got this grin on his face and tells me "well at that time my mom would give money to eat with and send me out in the service. I would promptly throw the magazines etc. in the trash take the money and go to the movies. Then I would write out the report on the many hours I had put in and I always placed all the magazines".

I developed an instant hatred for him. But it passed in seconds and we both had a good laugh over it.

JW Charities

i was told that the jw have all kinds of charities.does anyone know of any?

I was born into jw's lost faith at 45 yrs old df'd at 55 yrs old. In all that time I did not see any charitable efforts by the wbts or the congregation. Only charity I saw was individuals acting on their own or getting a couple of families to help out.

I asked about this once and I was told and I think I also saw this in a wt magazine once.

WE spend our time and finance on showing people the way to eternal life. Or something to that effect.

I have this friend who needs some advice...

i have a friend named uhhh... timmm, who is in a bit of a quandary.

he has decided to go public with his apostate leanings, because it is becoming too hard to play the role of a meek, spiritually weak witness--complete with looks of pity and concern from his mother and siblings, and contempt from his sister-in-law.

timmm is sure one brother will have nothing to do with him after this, and he can live with that.

When I read their posts I get the same strange mix of anger/pity/frustration I got while enduring the nonsense of the elders and other j-dubs.

I try not to even read their posts, or if I do to not reply to what I believe is nonsense.

Then the anger over rides pity & frustration and I reply.

Then I kick myself for falling for their stupid baiting.

WHY DO JW'S USE MORE OLD TESTAMENT THAN NEW?

every book that is published, every magazine written ,highlights the hebrew scriptures as opposed to the greek.do you think it's because most christians stress christ's words and jw's need to be different?

I think Athanasius hit it right on the head. Almost all of the current warchtower dogma came from old Rutherford "here come da judge". This is especially true of the controlling aspects of this religion.

Then his followers kept using harsher and harsher methods to make the r&f stick to these beliefs.

i just wanted to share this.....i have not been to meetings for a year....one of the elders came to.

our door for my husband....who is an elder.....i am not dis'a or dis'f....just in hiding...(long story).

i do not socialize so seldom if ever see anyone.....he visited for a few minutes then they left together.....that night and for the next 2 weeks i had severe night mares....i would cry and sob so.

Hello Happy Man.

It is not the df'ing of one that no longer believes in the wbts any more, that causes one to complain.

It is the USE of df'ng to then punish and destroy people. You are correct that if one no longer will support that organization, the organization has the right to remove them. However NO one or organization ought to then require that ones relatives and friends are to treat them terribly. To not speak to them to not show the usual respect one human has for another. To impose rules that they know will destroy marriages, destroy family relationships.

Of course you are already aware of all this aren't you!!

Pornography and Sexuality

after leaving the only religion in the world, what are your views on sexual issues and have they changed more and more since the time you left the borg?

did you go sexually crazy and try many different things?

did you find intrest in porn and want to experiment more?.

It is kind of strange right after you get df'd. Since I came to believe that the wbts was an evil org. and not to be believed or trusted, this included anything and everything I had been taught and or believed. This also of course included all the sexual taboos and rules. So I set up another set of rules to live by that were more lenient and reflected what I had more or less felt were right at least for me all along.

So I guess you could describe me as a rather low key sexual rebel.

This brought to mind a rather odd thing that happened just after my dfing.

I come across one of the elders. A more sensible one. But I thought it strange that I had just been df'd and you might say kicked out of the borg, and he says only one thing to me. HI!! then a long pause and he says " you know you can't remarry now??" My answer was "yeah I know" all the while thinking " who the hell do you think you are? you kick me out and you still think you can tell me what to do? Since he was one of the more kind sensible ones I didn't tell him to fxxx of or any of the things I told the arrogant ones.

Is There a HELL ??

according to revelation 20:10 the devil will be tormented day and night forever and ever along with the "false prophet".

i asked several jw's about this and the reply was "we don't take it like that" or "it doesn't literally mean that".

wether or not there is a hell it sure seams they are missing or ignoring something.

It looks to me like this. If we don't do and believe what these man made religious organizations tell us to do, we have 4 choices. We can just die and that is it. Or we can die and go to hell. Or we can if we please one religion go to heaven. Or if we please another religion we will live on earth for ever under the wbts JW's thumb. Well hell or living for ever as a Jw are both a form of hell. Burning forever in hell doesn't suit me at all. Living for ever under wbts rule is a terrible scary thought. So given the option I think I will go for that go to heaven thing. The next best would be to just die and get it over with. On second thought there are some religions that think we come back to earth after death, as another person to give another try at getting it right. But then you got those damned monkeys or sacred cows to contend with.

Now if I could come back as FARKEL ? Hey I would try that in a New York minute

Romance status

just curious as to who is single and who is not on this board.i have been with my boyfriend going on 3 years now.

we just moved in together in feb.for the most part we get along great but he has some weird habits.he also thinks i spend too much time on this site(which i do...but heck i finally belong!!

)so its hard to relate to him on the subject.he thinks i should just forget about it.sometimes i think i might be better off with someone who has more or less been where i have.

Got df'd and divorced at the same time. No sin involved as per jw definition. Df'd because I told the elders what I thought of them and threatened them with bodily harm. So my official charge is fits of rage. Stayed single till I got my self together for @ 5 Years and remarried a <worldly> woman bless her heart. For the first time marriage started to make sense.

If you find it difficult at 40 yrs. try it at 61. To tell the truth here I did not find it all that difficult. I did not and my wife did not have all the pressures of the jw life or the twisted expectations. A friend of mine told me that at 61 you are just too tired to ingage in any more sensless bickering and things are better. I think he may be right!
