i don't know if this has been posted before but i thought it was pretty funny .

That picture brought back many memories. Towards the last few years I would wish for one of my kids to get fussy. That was my reason to get out of there. Got to not let the kid disrupt people you know. I would go back to the motel and me and the kid would get in the pool. It always worked, the kid quit fussing.

I wonder what those two guys in the picture would think if they saw this pic. and recognized themselves.

The guy with his head back and mouth open? Could that be Farkel? It could very well have been of me.

i have been reading this board since right before dateline.. i want to say thanks to simon for this great website!

i want to thank bill bowen, sheila bowen, barbara anderson, joe anderson, the pandelos, erica rodriguez, and all of the other silentlambs who have spoken out!.

i have some questions.. does anyone have any information about a circuit overseer named orval ellis (he used to be the co in arkansas, and then oklahoma, and just now colorado).

The New Study

as the new flock moves ahead into the generation of apostacy are we as brothers and sisters helping each other?

if there were an apostfest would it not be right to perhaps pick up a brother or sister who may not have transportation and is in need of a pint?.

As you are an elder I come to you for your christian advice. I am close to joining a religion and I want your biblical opinion on this move. My friend is a Frizbeterian. He has spoken to me on the beifits of this church many times. It seems they have their worship services every sunday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. They hold their service in the local park. One is required "with threat of disfellowshipment" to own and bring a dog with them. After a reefer or two we all sing a song. Then the serious worship begins. We throw frizbies and our dog catches them and returns them to us. We have to turn in a slip listing the number of times the throws result in a succesful catch. If we do not turn in the expected number we risk being shunned by the others and their dogs.

I really need you to listen to the deeper teachings of this religion and give me your advice. They teach and I am inclined to believe that when we die the soul floats along about 3 or 4 feet above the ground. Quite similar to a frizbee. I am told that if I disobey them that my soul will get caught up in a tree and may never fall out of the devil tree. That in fact I may be in this tree with birds crapping on me for all eternity.

Now these folks have been very kind to me and even gave me a free frizbee. They did say that a contribution would be appreciated. I gave them a contribution and I got lots of hugs and instructions on how to get to the park. In fact they will pick me up. They spent a lot of time showing me the finer aspects of throwing frizbees and cautioned me to not read any of the instructions from competing frizbee manufacturers. Did I tell you they took me through their beautiful large factory where the frizzbees are manufactured. It is staffed by a large group of rather strange but very busy men.

They seem very worried, I might say paranoid about a strange dog getting ones frizbee and running off with it. If you lose your frizbee in this manner, you become a "APOSTRAFIZZ" which they fear and are in dread of. If this happens to one they believe you are hatefull and want to destroy them as individuals.

Please brother Beans WHAT SHOULD I DO?

my wife and i were wathching fox news and they were talking about martha stewart's debacle, and low and behold there is mike commenting on how she is going to have to go from 9 houses to 8. anyway did not know we had a celebrity among us.... you did good mike.

I was right. I saw that Mike dude on tv about a month ago and thought it looked like Mike Musto's post picture. Then his name was mentioned and I thought it was him.

Didn't have the guts to mention it on this board though.

Wouldn't it be a fine thing in Gods eyes and in the eyes of all JW's if this letter had some affect on the hearts-minds-& conscience of the wbts leaders?

However it has been my experience that it will be scorned-discounted & ignored. Looked upon as only some drivel from apostates.

I wish I could grasp intellectualy what it is that hardens the minds of these men to the facts of the lives lost due to wbts policies and the families broken up and destroyed and to the damage all this is to people and the grief and sorrow caused by the displayed hatred for those who disagree with wbts policies.

It can not be explained by simple statements of their lack of this or that. What is happening in the minds of these otherwise kind and caring people? Where does this willingness to cling to old outdated clearly damaging not biblical or Christ like, wrong policies come from?

Could it be that owning up to ones own involvment in promoting these clearly damaging policies is so difficult to admit to, that they are unable to see what they are doing? Afraid of who they will see if they take a good look at themselves?

I don't know. I don't understand.

Speeding ticket!

ok...i havn't been able to catch up on my payments on my insurance..so most likely it's expired...but i recieved a speeding ticket...and i'm screwed!

...does anyone know what would happen if i didn't have insurance for my car?

..is it going to get towed?

At that point I would have had ncic and state check run for wants and warrants. Again.

Also I sure wouldn't want you driving an unsafe auto So it would need checked over.

Don't drop that carbon from the ticket. Littering you know.

I bet I could find probable cause to search the auto. What might I find?

By this time back up would arrive code 1, what might they be able to think up?

It is the rare car or person that one can't find other violations for.

Then if you have an accident and are bleeding out what if I showed up? Would I hold your pressure points to keep you alive till the pm get there? I might not feel like it but I Damned sure would try to save your life.

my global statement

i am so off this planet.. i have had so much therapy in the past, i dunno, forty years, that it makes me "sick".. i have learned to speak in cognitive-speak.

i have learned to think in cognitive-speak.. i have survived jw-endorsed "therapy": a jw-sanctioned therapist in northern virginia who could "cure" dissociative disorders in just a few sessions.

she learned this technique from the "society" and therefore, did not charge for her services.

Hello Laura.

Well it is obvious that you got the attention of a lot of people who care about you and what happens to you. You sound depressed and on the edge. If you are contemplating suicide please call the suicide hot line in your area and talk to them.

I don't believe my problems along this area were as devastating as yours seem to be. But I also did not find much help with therapists and counselors. I did find help with a phychiatrist who told me that medication to help me heal myself was needed. I took his advise and only went to see him once a month for around 30 minutes. There was virtually no therapy. He monitored my mood and changed the medication a few times. Told me that the right medication would enable me to heal myself in a cognitive self examination. He asked questions and watched my responses and body language. It was nothing like the psychologist approach.

It took about 18 months and I could get off the medication. It seems obvious to me that you need to seek out a medical doctor/phychiatrist and get help.

You are like all the rest of us you are a loveable person and deserve to be loved. You are a valuable person and deserve to be valued . You are an important person and deserve that recognition.

You deserve the love,value, & recognition from us and others and YOURSELF.

WE do love you and value you and respect you or no one would be writing here. YOU must give all these needed things to YOURSELF also.

What phrase did I dislike the most?

To this day I can remember the feeling of revulsion when I first heard " we have a letter from mother " read from the platform. With the usual inciped grin on the face and syrupy voice.

I didn't get along well with my mother. I wonder if that had an affect on me?

NAH it was just to obviously stupid.

Hey Cruzinheart.

Believe this or not there was one BROTHER "shudder" that would often not be able to come up with his own wifes name when he was on the platform. When her hand went up every one would get this expectant look on their face. Waiting for the laughs and giggles to follow.

Hi princess.

You must of seemed like a princess to the officer that stopped you.

Whether one gets cited for a traffic offense often depends on the officers mood and the projected appearance of the of the auto and the passengers and driver. If all of this indicates a clean good family like situation with young ones and the driver and others smile and are cordial rather than defensive and surly things will always go better. You may still get cited but for a lesser or lower speed than the actual speed.

Cars get pulled over and stopped for things as little as a license plate that is wired on instead of bolted on. Why? This indicates a cavalier attitude to the officer and also is an indication of a possibly stolen auto or a switch of plates. It is another situation of first impressions. Like the first time you meet some one and shake hands, there is an impression of that person.

most people would probably feel that it is a compliment to be thought of as an easygoing person, one with a relaxed, placid, tolerant nature.

however, there is another side to easygoingness.

My wife is a nurse and I read in a recent publication of medicine that a person with an easy going personality has less health problems and will live longer than one with a driven approach to things.

Lets see. wbts or medical profession? Wow what a hard decision. I think I will go with the medical profession. Yeah! screw the wbts.
