In the 1930's they would howl about a drought that affected the corn and tie that into imminent Armeggodon. In the late 60's the earth would be too unsafe to live. Yada Yada

Does anyone remember letter from GB "end is imminent" around 2009?
by cha ching inmy sister remembers, hearing at her congregation, a strongly worded letter from "the society" that hinted that "we may not be getting any more letters from the society, as the end is coming soon.".
she thinks it was around 2009, or after.. anyone remember this?.

The GB are a group of little minded selfish men who throw a tantrum when someone is not looking at them, so they have to make silly stories up. "Look at me, Look at me, Look at me", ...... As I kept intently listening to them I failed to notice that everyone else had left and I stood alone. No one bothered me to tell me they were leaving. I was the last fool. as I turned away, no one bothered looking anymore when they said, "Look at me"!!!

Trying to establish the demographic trends of congregations. Wanting counters please. Big brother needs you.
by joe134cd ini'm just curious?
since i have become aware that witnesses are getting older and that the youth is leaving (well in western lands anyway), i have started doing counts by age group of the people sitting in the hall.
generally in the hall that i attend i have found that 2/3 are 40 and over while 1/3 is 40 and under.

I haven't gone in a few years to anything, but there were lots of singles, very few conventional families, many mentally unstable. The conventions were a sea of grey hair.

Yes, read them in High School in college prepertory courses. Took them apart and extensively discussed in class but did not make the connection until a few years ago.

I do remember this letter or announcement. One elder at our hall said he had gotten word from someone at bethel about an announcement at the bethel table and he related the announcement earlier then we had the letter. He related it as if it were fact, it was just so encouraging. Ho-humm, nothing happened. This elder was always relating something as if he were in on the GB's meetings every Wednesday. Such a wanna be.

HOT OFF THE PRESS: ZO talk in Japan
by WinstonSmith inthis is literally hot off the press as in from about half an hour ago.. we have a friend from nz (who is wavering and knows our situation) and he is on holiday in japan at the moment.
today there was a zone overseer talk that he went to in nagoya (southern japan) and it has just finished up.
straight after the song and still in the stadium he emailed us the info below.

Oh, I bet the GB miss the fact that they can't brow beat the worldwide brother and sisterhood with their favorite child in Japan anymore. It used to be they used the Japanese as the benchmark of exemplary productivity, implying that the Japanese can have 50% pioneering why can't every other country? The answer was that you were just spiritually lazy. I remember packing my bags, we were going on a guilt trip when I heard these talks; well, evidently not anymore.

Welcome Joe, I understand where you are coming from and it is an interesting journey. I too wondered "How could I (or my family) have been so stupid"? Welcome again.

WHY DO SOME ELDERS LOOSE THEIR POSITION OVER BANKRUPTCY AND OTHERS DON'T?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inanother story of the love in the christian congregation of jehovah witnesses!.
elder squidbilly was gunning for a brother who screwed up with his real estate portfolio in a bad way.
squid-billy made the case this brother had managed his holding in a unchristian and greedy way, so he appealed to the body to remove him for theft!

Wow, ArbolesA,
After reading your post I thought you were an unknown brother to me. I have a similar situation in my family and 12 years ago had to deal with my brother loose cannon in the congregation. Currently, another brother/wife is living with Mom with fixed income. Other brother will soon loose property because he is behind on payments. Hasn't really worked in 20 years, but lives the life of Quickbuild heavy while wife works for peanuts. He drinks coffee and has breakfast with other quickbuild workers everyday. I have one word for them, "Loosers".

Did reading Jwfacts help you? Please take a moment to say thanks..
by The Quiet One init seems as though so many of the stories of people who are now mentally free that i read on here involved reading jwfacts.com at some point along the way.. he basically saved my sanity (questionable, i know!
), and was never as sensational and garish as other sites which immediately scared me away.
why not take a minute out of your day to say thanks for any difference that jwfacts made to your life, and tell us what it was that helped you?...

Yes, JWFacts is a professional presention. Thank you very much. The facts are so overwhelming; the website is like a pneumatic nailer rapid firing into the "WT coffin".
