"Its operation cannot be observed. It cannot be reproduced. And it cannot make accurate predictions. Can evolution even be considered a scientific hypothesis? The same encyclopedia defines a hypothesis as “a more tentative observation of facts [than a theory],” yet lends itself “to deductions that can be experimentally tested.”"
Similar to the unobservable enthronement of Jesus in 1914, or his unobservable second return in 1919 to appoint a Faithful and Discreet Publishing House to be his sole printing channel to mankind. Or the unobservable "undeniable truth" that in 1925 the end of the world would happen and the holy's would be resurrected, as stated in the "Millions Now Living will Never Die" by J.F. Rutherford. Similar to the disconnect in 1995 from a generation's length, or that in 2009 that Jesus talked about an "overlapping generation"?
Wow, I just don't believe how anyone could believe in a scientific hypothesis, can you?

Newspaper article: 'Rise of ISIS and earthquakes are WARNINGS before ARMAGEDDON destroys Earth'
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/581439/rise-isis-earthquakes-warnings-before-armageddon-apocalypse-end-destroys-volcanoes-earth.
the "end" of mankind, which has been long predicted by jehovah's witnesses, could happen as soon as this year - according to latest announcement from the christian religion.. in the latest edition of jehovah's witnesses monthly publication watchtower, an article translated into 700 languages - urges people to join the religion or face certain death when god sends his forces from the heavens to "remove all world leaders," "exterminate his enemies" and "rid the world of satan".. critics have lambasted the warning of a coming armageddon as yet another "failed prediction" by the religion, which has previously delivered similar alerts such as a foretold apocalypse in 1975.. indeed, jehovah's witnesses have been warning people of the need to recognise jehovah or face certain death when the "end" comes for more than 100 years.. the christian-based religion was founded in the 1870s by charles taze russell in pittsburgh, pennsylvania, us, as an offshoot from the bible studies movement.. today, there are 8.2million jehovah's witness evangelists, while 19.9 million celebrated their annual memorial festival marking christ's death - worldwide in 2014.. followers do not believe in military service and will not accept blood transfusions.. in a new eight-page article, watchtower said jehovah's witness leaders are now "convinced" humans are in their "final days" before the armageddon.. they cite an increase in global armed conflict, such as the rise of the islamic state terror group, as well as natural disasters such as volcanoes and earthquakes.. the lengthy article, written by an unnamed author, said: "will god let humans continue to dominate one another and threaten the future of mankind?
no, as we have seen, he will step in and bring an end to centuries of misery and oppression.

If WTBTS has so much inside information from being the one and only true "God's Channel", why didn't the WTBTS have any expectations/predictions/"prophecies" that ISIS would appear on the world scene and make a war into the Christian/radical Islam conflict and bring about Armageddon? Or at least the U.N. turning against the world's religions because of ISIS? Duh? It's just more Fear and Guilt that they sell soooooo well.
And is there really an increase in earthquakes? Ok, yes they have some reported in the Dallas Texas area and it is considered caused from fracking, Not life threatening. But really, I thought this subject of an increase in earthquakes has been beaten like a dead horse.

Was it worth it?
by John Aquila infor those of you who left family and friends and had to start over from scratch just to get out of the organization, was it worth it?.
.
-
JakeM2012
Yes it was worth it. I lost family, friends, and financially. Yet, I have a sister that will still talk with me, and several of my brothers I do not want any contact with so that is no hurt. My mom will not talk with me, even though I am not DF'd or DA'd. That is somewhat a bummer. But I try, I send her cards, call her when I am in town and leave messages on the phone.
I'm just glad not to be going to the Kingdom Hall every other day and twice on the weekend. Add in the time lost in Elders meetings, working on the kingdom hall, doing the lawn maintenance etc, and building other peoples kingdom halls. The time that the religion consumes is just unbelievable.

Hope y'all in Texas are doing OK !
by Simon insome terrible flooding happening there.. i never realized that texas was so prone to serious floods and flash-floods because of the geography and weather.
it tops the stats nearly every year for flood fatalities.. stay safe, stay dry if you can and don't take any chances.
water is unbelievably powerful - whatever vehicle you have it can sweep it away like a twig.

Yep, Hope all in Texas a well. There are still a lot of people missing in Wimberley. Texas has been in a drought for five years, which is not unusual, but they get all their rain at one time. -

How Some Climb Up So Quickly?!!
by Sofia Lose inour current co has not been in the org all that long, less than 10 years, and already quite a respected overseer.
i know of a few married couples in the spanish congs that are doing everything right, you know, with the theocratic schooling, the pioneering, etc., and... nothing!.
how do some seem to reach certain posts so damn quick, while others cannot make it?!

I was always amazed by this. I was born in, never in trouble, regular meeting attender, auxiliary pioneered, worked for several years at branches in Central and South America and some in Africa.
But some Jack Hole could come in the truth brag that he had done every drug available and slept with hundreds of women and in less than five years was giving substantial talks at the circuit assembly and District Convention. Me, I was asked to either work in cleaning or the parking lot. I know, humility. I did what was asked but just never got it. Geezsh, I am so glad to be out of that crap.

One month researching my doubts: my crucial issues with WTBTS - what are yours?
by Tornintwo inso after 20 years a convert, about a month ago i decided to start listening to my doubts and to do independent research about the wtbts teachings (naughty me).
as a result i have consolidated my position on various points and these are my major issues with the wtbts teachings, i am posting these to help myself figure things out (with your assistance) and hopefully to hear from others at their stage of drawing away from the gb - newbies' especially.
in the form of notes so hope you dont mind...child abuse.

“A mind, once expanded by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions”
― Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.Lots of great advice here.
I would like to add the thought about 1 Timothy 2:5New International Version (NIV)
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, {Per WTBTS says, "Not All Men"} Look for their brackets in the literature.
WTBTS teaches that Jesus Mediatorship only applies to the anointed and not to all of mankind like the scripture says. With this belief enforced and in place the WTBTS then becomes your 'mediator" and you have to treat her very nicely if you want to survive Armageddon.
I have never like that idea, and it is not something taught in the fundamental study books for bible students. I was raised in "the truth" and it wasn't until I was in my late 30's did I ever realize they had stole Jesus thunder.

How much sediment would have been moved in Noah's flood?
by Zoos ini flew over this crate yesterday on my return home from las vegas.. .
they say this crater was created by an asteroid about 50,000 years ago.
then about 6000 years ago, presumably, god wiped out all life on earth with a global flood.. how much sediment would have been moved around during that flood.
