they need you to recognize them as God's visible organization so you will help fill the coffers. We don't need to be a member of any organization to praise Jehovah...even that which is inanimate praises God.

God Has Only One Visible Organization on Earth!
by Vanderhoven7 inwhy is it important to some that god only have one visible organization to represent him on earth?
why is it important to jehovah's witnesses that people recognize their organization as such?
what makes a witness more moral or righteous or save-worthy if they accept that it is his one and only organization?

I wrote a letter detailing my research as to how I knew JW weren't God's organization on earth. I wanted to send a message. I thought of just fading...but I knew my "friend" would be "concerned" about my being spiritually sick. I didn't want to play the game of agreeing with that pioneer when they were expressing concerns over studies, etc. I only had that one person to loose as the rest of the congregation had very little to do with me even before the lock downs... One needs to count the cost and decide to fade. I really thought to fade at first, but I felt dishonest. Youtube channel exjw critical thinker has some pretty good videos about fading, etc. They may help you determine the best course for yourself.

Is There Life On Mars?
by LoveUniHateExams inno, i'm not talking about the david bowie song, i'm asking does life exist on mars?.
opportunity rover (the one before the present one) took photos of strange, puffball-like sphericals seemingly sprouting on the martian surface.. these photos aren't conclusive evidence but it is an exciting area to investigate.. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-9546225/scientists-claim-evidence-fungi-red-planet.html .

"The Truth"
by Ding inwe all know that jws consider the wt religion to be "the truth" and refer to it as such.. granted, that phrase is used repeatedly in the literature and from the platform.. but it's obvious that much of what the organization used to require jws to teach house-to-house as important truths--even within our own lifetimes--has been abandoned.
it's been replaced by "new light" and "refined understanding.
what's meant by "the 1914 generation" is a prime example.. in fact, i think it would be hard to find another religion that has changed so many of its teachings, especially in such a short period of time.. so why do jws still believe their religion to be "the truth"?.

When The SHTF.
by Lost in the fog inwe have several non-jdub friends who are busy stockpiling foods and goods for the impending societal collapse.
some are happy enough to be called preppers, others are not, but say that looking at the deteriorating condition of the world that it's only a matter of time before the shtf and they want to be prepared to protect themselves and their families when it happens.. contrast that to the jdubs who are actively telling people that the end of the world is coming, but aren't preparing in a practical way because they have been brainwashed by a "jehovah has always protected his servants" mindset from the gb at hq (who laughingly have no reason to be concerned because they're hoping for a quick getaway up to heaven when the jw 'end of the world' comes!).
the most the average jdub has is a go-bag rucksack in case they have to quickly leave their house in the event of a natural disaster like a flood or a wildfire.. isn't it better to be safe than sorry?

I think it is good to be somewhat prepared, but there is time and unforeseen occurrance...If you have plenty and the multitude around you are starving, they will kill you to get your stash! Of course the elite can buy underground luxury bunkers with store houses of food...They hope to out live any disaster...Some don't believe in God Almighty, but if he exists, can anyone really hide? and can he not miraculously save whomever he chooses? I think balance is called for.

was Judas there?
by enoughisenough infrom luke 22:14 .
so when the hour came, he reclined at the table along with the apostles.+ 15 and he said to them: “i have greatly desired to eat this passover with you before i suffer; 16 for i tell you, i will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of god.” 17 and accepting a cup, he gave thanks and said: “take this and pass it from one to the other among yourselves, 18 for i tell you, from now on, i will not drink again from the product of the vine until the kingdom of god comes.”+.
19 also, he took a loaf,+ gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “this means my body,+ which is to be given in your behalf.+ keep doing this in remembrance of me.”+ 20 also, he did the same with the cup after they had the evening meal, saying: “this cup means the new covenant+ by virtue of my blood,+ which is to be poured out in your behalf.+.

BluesBrother, I take your point...but John says nothing in that sequence about the passing of bread and wine...That seems like an important detail to leave out-considering he wrote about washing of feet.

I was at an car show event and a sister set up as a vendor there. I looked over her wares, but didn't see anyone to question... it was only by walking by again, that I noticed her ...she quickly turned away.( so I think she may have seen me the first time -people usually watch their sales spaces closely) She is in the next congregation over where I used to go. My family aren't close to where I live. They aren't JW...So all my "friends" here are shunning. I knew that would happen, but I have a clear conscience and that is better than conditional friends IMO

I am thinking if I had ever read the accounts without the influence of the WT, I would have thought Judas still there. In John chapter 13:18 refers to the "one eating my bread has lifted his heel against me." ...the account doesn't really go on to state anything else about the passing of the bread and wine as others described it. Do you think there is any symbolism in "MY" bread...as in the bread being symbolic of Christ's body...or is do you think he was considering all the food there as his food? Verses 3 -5says the meal was going on and Jesus got up from the meal to wash their feet.

From Luke 22:14
So when the hour came, he reclined at the table along with the apostles.+ 15 And he said to them: “I have greatly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I tell you, I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.” 17 And accepting a cup, he gave thanks and said: “Take this and pass it from one to the other among yourselves, 18 for I tell you, from now on, I will not drink again from the product of the vine until the Kingdom of God comes.”+
19 Also, he took a loaf,+ gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body,+ which is to be given in your behalf.+ Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”+ 20 Also, he did the same with the cup after they had the evening meal, saying: “This cup means the new covenant+ by virtue of my blood,+ which is to be poured out in your behalf.+
21 “But look! the hand of my betrayer is with me at the table.+ 22 For, indeed, the Son of man is going his way according to what has been determined;+ all the same, woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”+ 23 So they began to discuss among themselves which one of them could really be about to do this.+ ////There was a scripture used ( didn't look it up ) where Jesus told Judas to go and do what he had to do. JWs use it to show Judas wasn't there partaking of the bread and wine at the Lord's evening meal? That however isn't how I read this account in Luke...
