desirous of change "Elders are also the "glorious ones". Best not speak poorly of the "glorious ones". That's grounds for DFing." I was set up once. The elders were trying to get a reason to axe me. I got a call from an elder in a congregation next state over. He knew of somethings going down in my life, but not sure exactly the how of that. Anyway, I was a bit suspicious of his call. In course of conversation, he ask Me, " are the elders there doing you any good?" --clearly a fishing expedition to get the goods on me for speaking against the "glorious ones". I was on to him! I said, "No, but they aren't doing me any harm either."

question for those who either aux pioneered pioneered
by enoughisenough inhow many of you would have spent the hours "pioneering" if it weren't for the pats on the back and being looked up to as someone special in the congregation?
i will admit that back in late 1970's i attempted to aux pioneer during a campaign because it was promoted and seemed the right thing to do,but i didn't get the hours and it was stressful trying to...and i didn't feel like a cheerful giver.
i never attempted it again.

ThomasMore "As a result, many who followed their teachings now want nothing to do with the Bible, as if it was responsible for their ludicrous teachings." I have noticed this among the ex JWs...they cared enough about the Bible to "study" with the JW and become JW, and when they leave, many seem to distain the Bible and God Almighty.

I went to a thrift store yesterday, early afternoon and there were 3 sisters coming in as I was leaving. ( the youngest spoke to me ...her mother looked confused...I greeted them and ask how they were. and so got a reply One didn't say anything, but I had never known her anyway....they talked low while walking away-maybe about me!) so I digressed...Anyway, I am pretty sure, based upon hew the 3 were dressed, they had been out in "service"

Chezdale, the information you brought out made me think of this Scripture : Job 38 :7 When the morning stars yoyfully cried out together , and the sons of God began shouting in applause. ...so a CO could stretch that out to say the elders being, as they claim ,the stars in Jesus hand , therefore angels. ( if you followed that line of reasoning)

hellothere, I have read a lot of "stuff" and watched a lot of videos, so I don't know where I got this tidbit from and there may or may not be truth in it...but according to what I gleaned, the org stopped appointing the elders because if he turned out to be a bad choice, ( say maybe a pedophile ) the CO would take the fall, so to speak and not the GB.

Honest Hearted Ones
by Sea Breeze inthere are certain wt terms that sound biblical but really just puff up the pride.
hundreds of times the wt has used the term honest-hearted in their literature.
it sounds biblical, if for no other reason because we hear it so often in jw circles.

the thought came to me, "the heart is treacherous, who can know it?" Hmm....there isn't anything honest about the WTBTS ( JWorg) built upon lies.

I watched some Wendi Renay youtube videos. The former elder who was being interviewed mentioned a couple of things I noted. I would like to know what your reactions were at the time you learned what I am going to relate if you had the same or kindred experience.
One thing he mentioned was the circuit overseer told them ( the elders ) that they were the angels in the congregations. Did this happen to you? How did it make you feel? Did it make you feel superior to the rest of the brothers and sisters? Did you think about it? Did you agree with it? If you didn't agree with it, what did you do about it? How do you feel/ think about it now verses then?Anything else you want to add.
The other thing I noted was what he related they were taught in Elder's school: The Bible was written for the anointed-the only way the rest of the world gets salvation is by their relationship with the anointed. ( I think I got that right -and he may be reading this for all I know and correct me if I misrepresented anything he said. ) So if you were taught this in Elder school, How did it make you feel? Did you think about it? Did you agree with it? If you didn't agree with it, what did you do about it? If you did agree with it, how would you have explained it to the sheep you were supposed to be sheparding? How do you think about it now verses then? Anything else you want to add ( "enquiring minds want to know.")

Is doomsday coming as the Bible predicts or will nothing happen eventually?
by Fisherman inthe bible predicts that at some point, the god of the bible will take action.
this is very convincing when reading bible prophecy and history to back up prophecy as represented in the bible.
—exactly when god acts is another subject..

I believe what the Bible says...I may not live to see it all fulfilled, and if I can escape the GT, bully for me. I hope you live to see it, then you will know .

it's bad enough to have been mislead by men claiming to be the anointed...but many have gone back to dishonoring God Almighty and his Son, Jesus Christ with other false beliefs. It is disgusting! Matt 16:16 Simon Peter answered: "You are the Son of God." In response Jesus said to him;"Happy you are Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveral it to you, but my Father in the heavens did. ( Jesus here on Earth, God in Heaven)
Jesus didn't say to him," no Peter, I am God Almighty and I am revealing that to you. Jesus was on this earth and walked among the people and NEVER claimed to be God or tell the people, I am a man, but I am actually God almighty as well...1 Tim 2:5 For there is ONE GOD and one Mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus....
If Jesus were God Almighty, he obvisously didn't require a mediator as he was talking with the people on this earth.
Matt 3 :17 Look! also, a voice from the heavens said: " This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved."( Jesus didn't say: did you hear that folks? I just approved of myself! - Jesus being baptized on earth. God speaking from Heaven.
If Jesus is also Almighty God, then the things he taught while on the earth were LIES-and who wants to worship a liar!
