  as you know (and are probably tired of hearing me repeat), i’m jewish.

  yes, i was a jehovah’s witness when i was a teenager and into my 20s, but returned to my roots and now celebrate chanukah when the holiday season comes around each year.. so why am i writing about christmas?

  well, that’s because i thought i would share something about how jehovah’s witnesses teach against christmas.

  a spanish court ordered the newspaper to publish the reply of the jehovah’s witnesses to a defamatory 2022 article.

  the court found the newspaper has been fed false information by an association of disgruntled former witnesses and has uncritically published it.. .

  I wonder if the finding would have been different if they had not been referred to as a cult. I hope it gets appealed. Maybe the courts don't know the real facts, but those of us who are victims shunning /or other abuses know.

  Can JW's trust what the "slave" says?

  here is what the self-appointed "faithful slave said in the watchtower july 1 1943:.

  "and for company publishers he [jesus] says, ’let us make a quota of 60 hours and 12 back-calls and at least one study a week for each publisher.’ these directions come to us from the lord through his established agency directing what is required of us; and, for those who really love the lord and are guided by his counsel, that is a reasonable service requirement.

  this expression of the lord’s will should be the end of all controversy.

  according to Losch, you CAN trust them because God and Jesus trusts them....however, it does appear the "Lord" keeps changing the light! lol the JW aren't supposed to know what is in the older magazines so they won't discern how they are being led on a goose chase.

  this reddit post suggests that the cessation of reporting hours isn't the only thing announced at the recent meeting.

  can anyone in, or sufficiently well versed in jwdom confirm that the op's understanding of this announcement correct?.

  Real reasons behind this change?

  just a good conversation at home about the hour report change.. we think the change was not impmemented because the gb are such a lovely bunch of old grandpa's having the best in mind for us individuals.. there will be only, and we say only, an organizational reason for it.

  a legal reason, to protect jw.org and it's officials and wealth.. next step?

  maybe selling more kh and when jw hollywood studio's in rampoo are ready a change to tv subscription.. what do you think?

  I had this thought....inclusive is the no time reporting for the R and F and "last minute repentance" thingy: Maybe they want people to leave! That way, they consolidate more halls and have move property to sell.

  reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

  It doesn't mention that elders and ms have to report hours, so wouldn't this indicate there will be a lot more YOUNG men becoming Ministerial servants and Elders...they are wanting more people to fill those slots.

  I don't know why I stayed in for 50 years before "waking up". I never thought counting time was right and resented it. I always believed that others besides JW would be saved at the end ( because a great mixed crowd came out of Egypt with the Israelites and Moses and Jesus told about the workers coming in at the end of the work day and getting the same pay as those who worked all day ) ( Let's hope more and more leave because of this.)

  if they get more publishers this way, then they can count more seats taken and therefore more money from the congregations. Also if people aren't putting money out for gas and snacks while in the work ( because a lot won't go out now for sure....then maybe more for the contributions,,,

  sometimes things don't come across the way the speaker intended.. years ago there was an ad by the whitegoods company fisher and paykel.

  they showed them going to great lengths to get customer feedback on what was important to them.

  one customer said that she wanted it to be easy to get her appliances serviced when they broke down.

  my granddad told this one. The was a sister whose last name was Payne. She sat in the back of the hall and raised her hand to answer a question. The WT conductor called on her to answer the question: Sister Payne in the rear.
