  Conversation with old friend

  i recently had a conversation with an old acquaintance from the congregation i used to attend.

  we talked about the recent changes in the 2023 annual meeting.

  i especially pointed out the one about getting rid of hourly reporting on monthly time slips.

  The New Busy Work

  for a hundred years the slaves were kept from having the time and energy to question anything and associate anywhere where they might be exposed to alternative views by having to keep up the busy work of going door to door.

  that avenue is drying up.

  and policy is changing.. the wt needs new busy work to keep the sheep engaged without thinking.. the wt fancies itself as an up and coming movie studio.

  in 3 different places these past six months the jws were giving out magazines to the public printed in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

  the kingdom hall is still empty.

  even with amalgamation of 2 congregations.

  the elders are handling the microphones and there was only one comment from zoom at the watchtower.

  on the watchtower website it says that most of the work that will be done fishkill will be out sourced to non jws .i thought that jws always used to build everything them selves.

  this might explain what happend to ramapo they put an appeal out for free labour and people said no .

  town of fishkill, new york, u.s.a., gives approval for new support center of jehovah’s witnesses (jw.org).

  on october 27, 2023, site plan approval was granted for new construction at the bethel facilities in the town of fishkill, new york, u.s.a. this approval from the town planning board means that work on the new fishkill support center of jehovah’s witnesses can begin immediately.

  anything that means that they have fewer khs must be good for the future .its almost as though they are trying to make it more difficult for new people to get to a kingdom hall

  Predictions for the next decade?

  as it’s nearly the new year my prediction over the next decade or so will see the sense of urgency dwindle.

  then some huge huge changes.

  for example by 2034 in a decades time, they will have address the 1914 issue and will come out and say we can’t be dogmatic.

  the watchtower will be more online as the numbers will decline as has happened in christian churches so kingdom halls will start to close and that will make it even more unlikly that new people will start to go to kingdom halls as the distance gets further and further

  the watchtower's many legal problems and the jws' use of carts in their preaching work, reminded me of a scene and dialog from the film patton.. in a scene where patton is viewing a battle site the morning after, he says to an aide about the nazis: “you know how i know that they're finished out there?

  in my dreams i saw the carts.

  they kept buzzing around in my head and i couldn't figure out why.

  they are giving people the choice,if people want to stand at a trolley for 60 hours a month then they can. and like simon said 4 years ago you dont have to make massive changes to have an effect. i went to a big city a few weeks ago and they had five cats in the city centre and they all had only magazines printed in 2021 and 2020 and then i went out of the city into the suberbs and a cart had magazines from 2019 and 2015
