My Wedding Anniversary
by TOTH ini am happy to announce that today marks 22 years of married bliss to the most beautiful girl on earth.
my lovely wife was always being harassed by the local overlords for wearing too much makeup, having her hair too wild, and for not being submissive to them.
when we began dating the overlords pressured me to get her to change.

That is so sad! How old is the child? Glad he has normal friends to hang out with, that way he will not miss being ignored by the youth at the hall. I remember 1 elder & 1 pious sister at the old congregation. So proud of their teens spirituality. Then would talk about how popular their kids were (they were in High School). I remember the elder nudging his wife to tell others how his son was voted best looking in his Senior Class ( Not a small school). Hmmm. Interesting! How did these spiritual kids get so popular with their peers? Through all the witnessing they were doing at school? Don't get me wrong, they were nice kids, but they wanted to NORMAL!! Guess the old saying it's not what you know, but who you know might be true?

Keep doing your research and reading the Bible without WT aids. Please try a version other than the NWT. Perhaps the NIV. Someone on here very recently told me to take notes on what I was reading. .Tremendous help to have those to refer back to! I have learned so much from the people on this forum. It's painful to realize things are not what you thought they were. Please take the advice of jwfacts & read Ray Franz books. They are written without malice, just presenting the facts. I wish you all the best on this journey.

thank you to all of you.. i wrote a letter of disassociation this week, and sent it to the local kh.
i have been faded for a number of years, and after much research, know that the witnesses do not have the truth.

Excellent points, all! You are so correct, now that I think about it, that she was probably not going to listen to my reasoning. I hope I did plant a seed regarding the UN thing. Everyone who has responded here has helped me so much. I am starting to feel at peace. Thank you!!
BUZZARD BAIT?!!! ROFL!!!!

Thank you to all of you for your comments! They are extremely helpful. You are a wise and compassionate group of people! Wish I had posted here before speaking with her, but I did not anticipate what occured. But I should have, as she has always brought up WT doctrine/beliefs in our conversations. I will remember all of your excellent advice before I speak to any witness again! It's funny ziddina suggested asking my son to help me. He is a trial attorney, and I understand he is quite good at prepping clients & has excellent speaking skills. But when I bring up something about the Witnesses, he laughs at me, and just says, Mom, you know what they can be like, don't worry about it! He has moved on.
I did send her a 3 line note correcting myself, I hope she reads it. Again, thank you. I appreciate your help more than I can say! All the best to all of you!

Hello, I'm new to posting here, although I have been reading and gaining insight for quite a while. Thank you to all of you.
I wrote a letter of disassociation this week, and sent it to the local KH. I have been faded for a number of years, and after much research, know that the Witnesses do not have the Truth. I called one friend that I had kept infrequent contact with to let her know so she was not taken by surprise. I'm shaking after that conversation. After all she has been through with the Witnesses, I thought she might be more open to my reasons. She was not, and started throwing scripture & WT speak at me. I became flustered, and while trying to justify some things, mis spoke about the destruction of Babylon, calling it the destruction of Jerusalem.( My point was the 1914 generation teaching.) I'm going to send her a brief note citing my mistake, but I feel like a fool. I handled this poorly.I spoke to her about the WT NGO status. She was unaware, but justified it, and said she would look it up. I suggested she go to a site other than the WT web site. She kept telling me I was looking at apostate literature. I told her one had to look at more than one source. She asked where I was going to go? To God and Jesus Christ, I replied.( Is it just me, or is that one of the dumbest questions?) I handled this poorly, and due to my inability to speak over her, she may never see the light. I simply became too flustered. I told her I did not call to argue or debate, that I had been researching for over a year, & I just wanted to tell her my decision, and that I loved her and wished her well. There were other things I tried to point out, but she had a response, sometimes very poor, to them. She is a good woman with some (imho) odd ideas in general. Now I'm questioning if I should have done this. Thankfully, My son & I were the only ones who were baptised witnesses, and he came out before I did. So I am really losing nothing, but I wish this friend could see the light. She put me on notice, kindly, that she would no longer speak to me.I hope she reads my note about my mistake.Does anyone knoe if Rutherford was really a judge? Thank you for letting me post, and for all the help you have unknowingly given to me.
