holding off on my baptism???

Welcome and RUN! This happened to me as well. I had studied for 3 years, they were all over me to get baptisied, then when I asked, I was told I was not ready! I was shocked. The study conductor told me to wait on Jehovah or something like that. So I waited 6 month or whenever the next assembly was coming up, and asked again. NO, NOT YET! I wish I had walked like I wanted to as I thought these people play head games, and I had seen others get baptised with less time studying. But I had a very aggressive, manipulative study conductor who convinced me to stay. Third time they allowed it. WORST DECISION I EVER MADE! IT IS NOT THE TRUTH!!! FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS. RUN!!! Do more research without WT literature. go to JWFacts.Go to freeminds. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO YOUR CHILDREN! Find another church. Read the Bible without WT "study aids". I think you will find out this is not God's organization. I wish you all the best!

newbie here - i need advice

i'm an inactive jw, been in and out sporidically these past few years, but its only these recent months after reading crisis of conscience and christian freedom that i think i will never go back there again.. the reason i've been inactive primarily is because i have issues regarding masturbation and porn.
my conscience cannot allow to continue preaching while i continously being overcome by these habits myself.

It sounds like you are conflicted about quite a few things, and your last line indicates that you are in a great deal of pain. I hope you are seeking professional counselling to help you deal with what you are feeling. If you don't have insurance to cover it, or can't afford it, there are places to get assistance at reduced cost.
Please do NOT beat yourself up over masturbation & porn. You are not the only person in the world that indulges in those, and you need to reset your thinking. They DO NOT make you a bad person!
Know that you are not alone here. There are many wonderful people who are more than happy to converse with you, and offer advice if you need it. Many have been through issues involving the WT as well, and empathize with what you are going through. I believe that you will be able to derive inspiration through them. And Jehovah God and Jesus are not far away. They love you, and I believe that they will help you if you ask. Perhaps that is why you have found this site?

Fb status of a Young JW Mom. Sooo Sick!
by 3dogs1husband incan't believe that we made it through the whole assembly, **** wasn't feeling good last night, has a cold, was pretty cranky, then he seemed fine and minutes later im making a bowl with my hands for him to throw up in while we are sitting (the joys of parenthood) then into a plastic bag, then very quickly ran to the bathroom for even more throwing up, but suprisingly we stayed for the rest of the day.
trying to think of a response.
i am not "out" on fb soooo sick from this i wanna throw up myself...poor children!.

This post brought back some weird memories! Some JW's have the strangest mindset about meetings/assemblies. I took a woman who was studying and her kids with me to a DA once. Woman who was studying with her couldn't give her a ride. Nice people, but VERY messed up. One of her poor kids threw up in the back of my van! She yelled at him, and we went in. I would have rather taken him home.
There was a pioneer couple at the congrgation I went to who made their kids go out in service, to EVERY meeting, assembly, etc., no matter what. They would take the kids in service with fevers, and one time brought them to the hall with FULL BLOWN CHICKEN POX!! Everyone spoke of how spiritual they were. I thought they were thoughtless, selfish assholes with poor parenting skills! Guess who had 3 kids who wound up with chicken pox within the next 7-10 days?! Guess who stayed home with her kids so as not to expose anyone else?

So sorry to hear this has happened, outsmart. I hope you have an excellent lawyer. I know I have seen some threads on here with information about attorneys who know all too well about the workings of the WT. Perhaps you can find them before you go to provide your lawyer with the names? Those attorneys may have some information available online. Other posters have given you some excellent suggestions.
You sound like a kind and gentle man who wants to believe the best of everyone. Your wife sounds like she is being well advised, and is calculating.She probably has a great attorney. She may well know exactly how to work you.That does not make her a bad person, but I hope you watch out for your best interests and those of your children. Unfortunately, I have seen women do this, and believe me, if you are not careful and well armed, you can get screwed royally!
I hope you go for 50% custody, even in the separation. This seems to be happening quite often now.

the level of disapointment
by lastchance inas i look at the members in my area, i see alot of fustration and disapointment.
those who still beleive 100%, are sending there kids off to college( to live on campus),there is no rush to send there kids off to bethel and others are just going through the motions just so they wont be questioned.
in the last 7 years i've been in 2 congregations, in 2 different states, and the level of tension and in fighting in both, has made the isreali/ palistani conflict look mild.

I've been out for a while, but still know of quite a few who went to college or sent their kids. Off hand, I know of 6 who sent their kids to college, myself included, and 4 who went as adults(myself included). One even went so far as to get her Masters!
I think too many have struggled and perhaps realized that the men in New York know nothing of having to live in the real world. I know that is what I started thinking as I would sit and listen to the talks telling me what I should and shouldn't do. So I started doing what made sense. I have to live in the real world.

Can someone please explain why I'm NOT DF'd yet???
by Calebs Airplane ini have been sending one "apostate" email after another to an elder in my congo (who frequently does circuit and district convention parts) and i'm still not df'd.... i've even sent him a free pdf copy of "crisis of conscience" twice in the last 3 months (sorry cynthia franz), as well as emails about the whole spectrum of bullshit (607, 144k, 1935, blood, proof of lies, false predictions, etc...).
he vary rarely responds but i know he's reading them because he said so in a recent google chat.... he even acknowledged that the wt got 607 wrong but then says that i should look at the positives and stop finding fault.... but still... i sent some really strong gb-bashing emails and i'n not df'd.... i mean seriously, i've pushed the envelope as far as i possibly can.. what the hell is going on???

May I ask why you don't just DA yourself? Seems like you're going to an awful lot of trouble to get DF'D, although it sounds as though your trouble may lead to someone else awakening, making it all worth it.
