  "I agree with you on that. I wouldn't stand by if I knew some
  child was being harmed. What do you mean though when you say
  that you would "take matters into your own hands"? / You Know"

  I mean that ,lets say that I was still a reg. or a member of
  WTBTS,after reporting it the Elders if something wasn't done
  STAT about it and it shouldn't take more that a few days
  after all something like this should be considered a priority
  on a list of things to do, I would go to the police along
  with the child welfare services and I would notify the disyrict attorneys office what I have done and that I expected them to
  follow up on it to make sure that the child welfare services
  were doing there job. And if that didn't work and the child
  was still being abused ,lets say in the home 4 instance, I
  would go over to the home, taking a few large tatooed, pisssst
  and ready to break heads bikers with me who would pick the
  spinny little monster up by the neck a put the fear of God in
  them in a way that they obviously have not expierenced it yet.
  I think thats pretty much what I would do.

  Just logged on and read your reply, Thank you.
  I can appreciate your views on the matter however
  I believe that we, as concerned adults, are
  responsible for seeing to it that when a child
  especially is being victimized,MOLESTED, by
  anyone it is our MORAL duty to make sure that
  something is done to Protect that child NOW even
  if the answer is taking matters into our own hands
  when all else fails.

  no blood cards this year!

  last night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.

  in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?

  age activated attention deficit disorder.... this is how it goes: i decide to wash the car; i start.

  desk, discard the junk mail and i notice the trash can.

  lydia I glad to here that there are at least some children actually benifiting from all of these studies. hope your son continues to benifit. It is unfortunate that so many doctors are so willing to just stick a pill in a kids mouth and send them on thier way bacause just maybe just maybe the teachers are a little to boaring or simply not ingaging all the kids in thier class enough.
  Again I'm very happy for your son.

  YouKnow and OutLaw, please excuse me for butt’n in for a
  moment but I have a Q for YK I hope he can answer for me.
  I’ve been reading your correspondance back and forth and
  enjoy the debating but the topic that concerns me the most
  I haven’t seen addressed enough, or I just missed it when
  it was.

  1)YK since no one lies to you, what exactly IS your
  position regarding the way absusers are delt with in
  the many congregations where they exist in?

  2) If you had first hand knowledge of someone in
  your congregation that was molesting a child, who
  would you report it to and why?

  Yup you sound the the perfect canidate for ritalin.
  You and half the world. And the other half of the world
  probably need prozac so they can do what you do without
  the ritalin.
  The doctors put my son on Rit. when he was in the 4th grade. I protested against it for 2 years then gave in to the school and allowed it. they adjusted his medication regularly because it never helped. But he did develop tooth decay with in 1 year after taking it. The dentist told me that the Ritalin was causing his teeth to decay. It is after all SPEED you know. So I stopped giving it to him. a year later his report card had a note saying that his behavior has improved tremendisly in the class room the past year thanks to the medication. I didn't tell them that he stopped taking it a year ago.
  Amaizing. As long as they thought he was medicated they got along with him.
  Are you thinking about it?

  What Its All About - Lurkers

  its all about lurkers: there are at least three main types of lurkers, 1. a jw with doubts, concerns, feeling that something is wrong with the religion, 2. an ex-jw who is caught between two worlds, and does not feel free yet to live a normal life, 3. a non-jw who is either involved with a jw, or a relative of a jw, or is in the middle of being studied with by the jws.. defining moments: everything we write, say, and do is observed by the lurkers.

  in a single moment, or a series of collected comments, we will eventually cause a lurker to have a defining moment ... a point in time where they decide that being a jw is not for them anymore, or that they can stop living between two worlds, or cease studying, and not join the religion.

  we may never know who we help, or how many.. flame wars and character attacks: when we get embroiled in these, whether we are the instigator or the brunt of the attacks ... what are we really doing?

  Prior to me joing this forum I had a completly different
  perception of what I would find here. Of course I was
  influenced by the views of JWs who also wouldn't think
  of logging on here because their perception of this site
  is influenced by other jws and so on and so on. After
  deciding to pay no attention I began logging on and found
  out that this is exactly what it says it is. Somewhere
  for a large group of people to go and share expierences. Unfortunately most of those expierences are bad ones.
  I am very glad that I stuck it out here it has already
  added something to my life that was more needed then I
  imagined. Even though I do not personally know anyone here
  or share the same ideas as everyone I feel like I found
  a kind of (sorry 2 B corny)family that has been missing
  in my life for to many years. Thanks for letting me be
  here and have an opnion.

  Mr. Jensen,
  I'd like to 2nd everything bluesapphire said. Being born
  and raised in the "Truth" I have heard arguments regarding
  the blood policy my entire life. I have asked questions as
  recently as less than two years ago in reference to accepting
  blood, what exactly is it that makes it a sin? The most honest
  answer came from a pioneer women I studied with for awhile,
  she said "I'm not really sure, I guess all we can do is
  speculate". After reading your letters to the Governing Body
  I fill for the first time I have a crystal clear understanding
  of how they should have been addressing the issue all along and haven't. Thank you, JanB
