I excited for you that its neg. Have they changed the way they do tests now? I went through that about ten years ago and i didn't get results that fast! wow!

my gp suggested an hiv test as beng gay i am a high risk... i agreed and had one.

"long time passing".. children in the witness community here in oz seem to be disappearing.. there was a time when each congregation could expect to count new publishers each year from the children growing up in witness families.
say 1 or 2 in an average 100 publisher congregation.

You are correct! They redefined "approved associate" at some point in the 80's to mean a baptized one. Additionally, the WTS was forced to see how foolish it was disfellowship ones who never committed to their doctrine via a baptism in the first place!! Methinks they were legally vulnerable in this regard. So to protect themselves, they removed the silly rule and quit disfellowshipping non-baptized ones.
Thats exactly where I was but I really had no idea that was the norm for all congs. I went through the shunning thing many years ago and it was extremely hurtful then when I attended the same assembly two years ago as oodles of people from my old Kong. (I purposely went to that one instead of the one my current Kong was assigned to so I could see my dad) It was a bit overwhelming I wasn't expecting to see THAT many from the past. Blast To The Past!! AAHHHhh!! My Dad ofcourse was real happy I was there and flag'd down people before I new it there were all these people all around us that I had not seen in more then twenty years. I think out of fifty or more only 4 hugged me and acted happy to see me again and two of them were friends of my Dads that I JUST met. Sadly mostly everyone only came over to give me the once over the one where your looking right at them square in the face and their eyes are to busy looking you up and down while their talking AT you reciting the usual questionnaire style acceptable conversation "Oh how nice to see you Are you BACK IN the Truth Again?" It somehow manages to always be the FIRST question to address. That sets the table for the proper mingling. Overjoy'd for your reinstatement or just a quick acknowledgment a HIbrow followed by a condescending, But polite, dismissal then immediately directing there attention away from you. It's pretty cool how well so many get that down. One-second your talking to mrs.C from "Happy Days", You blink once and your talking to a "Stepford Wife".
My Dad must have forgotten and then suddenly remembered, maybe not I could have just got paranoid about it but we ended up leaving during the lunch break and going for a long walk away from the assembly where it was quiet.But of all the ones I ran into that I grew up with, they had few children. Not like it was when we were kids. I think Half of the KH's must have been small children and teenagers.
The last time I went to a few different congs. they were all mostly old people and a few couples with a couple of kids. Almost baron compared to what I remember.
No get togethers either like in the old days. No baseball games, No BBQ's at the beach or mountains. No POT LUCKS!! Not much of anything. No swim partys.BLAH.Sorry I couldn't sleep. I guess i'll go back to bed now.

damn can't sleep
GWEEDO "American HX" true that was a darn good movie I saw it several times. For some reason it didn't get a lot of attention. It wasn't really promoted enough. I kinda remember a bit of controversy around it, some feared that it would stir up or insight hate crimes.
This one would be Most UNder-rated for sure.
"Leathal Weapon 4 (the last one) I waited EAGERLY for that movie. Loved the first two. I think I sat thru 30 min. and couldn't take it anymore. I left. Hated it. The acting..the dialog...the looks..IT SUCKED.[>:(]

Kind of Depressed, Looking for Someone to Talk to
by Reborn2002 insome of you on this board know me, or at least part of my story, very likely most of you do not.. i am a 21 yr old male from chicago who finally mustered the courage to da myself roughly 6 months ago.
being a 3rd-generation jw, my grandfather was an elder 45 years, so this developed a reputation and precedence for me that i would one day be a co.. or go to bethel.
such high expectations, which i am happy i never fulfilled.

Hi Reborn. Sorry your feeling down. I still have ups and downs after several years now of being a piece of war torn family. I have only very faint memories left of what it felt like when I believed I was a part of a family. It's unavoidable. But it doesn't make you crazy!! It means your real. Best advice I can think to give is don't let your self hate anyone for it. Man that can really age you fast!

What to you do when you are being shunned?
by aprostate ini used to be quiet around witnesses who were shunning me.
i changed my mind after my dad's funeral a couple of years ago.
i was their alone since i live in a different state; but, i guess everybody still knew who i was because of my mom.

It is a shame that they allow'd themselves to behave so cold hearted.
I like skullys approach. Sometimes doing stuff like that can can change your whole perspective and realy lift your spirits.
The world is our biggest emotional rollercoaster.

You can stand on street corners right beside them and hand a flyer out with each and every watchtower that is handed out...ALL DAY LONG.
Most people will read NEITHER!
Those who are looking for some spirituality they may feel is lacking in there lives will read the watchtower
Those who who don't care about reading the watchtower won't give a hoot about any flyer that warns about the watchtower.The only people who might look at a flyer twice or go so far as reading one seriously would definitely be someone who is either Leaving Anyway, or someone who has a family member or closer friend who they want to influence. And even under those circumstances it would be approached with great caution.
Keep in mind I'm not for it nor against it. This is a purely objectionable opinion based a Masters from TSOHKs.Have you considered narrowing down a more specific "target" audience? That may be a better more productive route.
