some dumb congressman taking a loaded glock pistol onto an aircraft.. a guy was just jailed for 9 months in the uk for arriving at heathrow (from washington dulles) with amminution in his jacket.

but hey, he wasn't a congressman ... just a black guy.

It still amazes me that **some** people don't get the message yet and haven't figured out that if someone makes a fair criticism and you say "yep, you know ... you're right - that sucks" then there is no argument and bad feeling. It's only when people try and defend the indefensible that they start getting all upset and feeling threatened. I guess it's easier to shoot the messenger than accept the message sometimes.
There seems to be a rediculous notion with some people that everyone must accept that their country is the best and most accomplished in every aspect and this is clearly a laughable notion.

Simon you made a lot of assumptions about what other people think. You also speak as if you are always right and everyone else is wrong, everyone that ~~doesn't get the message~~ doesn't agree with your opinions.

Don't fault Kerry: after all his latest anti-Bush tirade actually has
a lot of merit. He is accusing Bush of working with the Saudi
government to KEEP OIL PRICES DOWN in the US

How different is he from some leader on the other side who claims to be doing the "will of allah" or whoever?

He is not claiming that it is the will of god that we go kill people in other countries. You are taking things out of context. He is simply speaking as a persom who was brought up with strong religious convictions like those of many people. Him including that in his speach may not be the brightest thing to do and he probably shouldn't do it but it is quite a leap to compare what he said to the rantings of a mad man who leads his followers with pure hate toward any and all other race of people.

If you are afraid of Bush then you do have troubles. He is the least of this worlds worries.

question: why are humans worth more than animals?

ok putting religious reasoning aside what is a rational reason why humans are viewed worth more than higher animals?

why is a human worth more than lets say a chimp, a pig or a cow?.

neurophysiological studies show that animals suffer probably just as much as humans....but similar to little children they cannot understand the pain and express it as human adults can.

i just realized that the annointed won't die off.

i mean, the original annointed will die off within the next 10 years or so, but then there are the younger people that think they are annointed, but don't fall under the rules and guidelines of an annointed person (per jw).

i personally don't believe in the annointed, but something struck my fancy at the memorial.

The society will be forced to re-explain the whole concept of the anointed when the governing body dies off and they no longer have "anointed" as figureheads in the organization.

I wonder how that will work? Will the "new" unanointed governing body communicate through Jehovah, Jesus or the dead governing body? I heard it through the grapevine..... Or will they discover that there was just enough fallen anointed ones to open up space for the new bros in charge?
