i'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).

and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.

people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

It will always amaze me for some reason how the most obvious reasoning is always ignored.

:I'm an ex-elder, stepping away some years ago. Still "active" in the congregation. I do have the mindset that has been described here by many - that Jehovah will correct matters in time, that it will be a "massive" correction, and that the scriptural applications of how corruption infiltrated the Israelites for years is appropriate in this time that we are living.

One of the most difficult times in my entire life was dealing with my mother, almost 2 years ago this month, regarding my issues with the wts. She is anointed and in her late 70?s now. She has on many occasions voiced her opinion about doctrine she felt was?I can?t use the word ?wrong? but how about less then accurate.
She has always been well aware of my personal views and my reasons for ?falling away? many years ago and even blamed the society for it until 2 years ago when I made it clear that I would never go back to a society that expects me to pledge my allegiance to a bunch of old men in New York.
It was from that moment on I was demonized in her eyes.
We always had a close relationship over the years until now and it is only because I will not return to an organization that even she has acknowledged is wrong. Her reasoning is exactly what you said in your post. She believes it is going exactly as planned and now Satan is using me to try to get to her personally. She dedicated her entire life to this org and nothing?NOTHING is more important even if it?s wrong.

JW-apologists - and who survives Armageddon?

lately i`ve been in conflict with jw-apologists on wikipedia in my country.

the most annoying thing is when the jws are trying to rewrite doctrine to make it sound more humane than it really is.

everyone on this board, everyone who ever was a jw or were raised as a jw,knows what the real doctrine is on this issue.

This was the belief for many years even though they may be changing what has been taught in the past to something that's not quite so...offensive to the general public. I spoke to the PO and one of the elders from my mom's congregation a couple of weeks ago. They called on me in hope of getting me to reconsider my personal views and attend the meeting last weekend as the CO was visiting. This was the topic of the conversation and I will guess it was also what they were saying to everyone they called on in service, that being: "We don't know who will make it through Armageddon and who will not. That will be for Jehovah to decide". This was NOT the norm while I was being raised in the "Truth" at all. But it is something recent.

However, the fact that they were here calling on me and using language that conveyed a message of urgency that I need to hurry up and come back before it's too late was very real. In no way did they leave the impression, oh well, we'll see you after Armageddon if not before. Lol!

when one disasociates or is disfellowshipped surely the acceptance of the majority to shun from the view of the minority is of a sinful nature.

this dawned on me today when walking home with the kids from school a member of the kingdom hall drove past us and waved ( at the kids - not making eye contact with me ) in fact i saw two members who did the same.

the question that arose in my mind as i strolled home was this, these people are basing their apparent belief i am an apostate on an announcement made from the platform at the kingdom hall, this statement was obviously made by an elder etc.therefore they have all become judges against me without a case - for only the elders know of the conversation i had with them on the day i da'd.

As for getting them to use the bible for explanation without distortion? Forget it.
They distorted the entire shunning thing using those very scriptures by classifying someone that questions doctrine the same as a criminal or a willful immoral person that has no intention of ever being good or even trying.

Did your study conductor inform you though that you will now be expected to get baptized and become a JW otherwise you risk being destroyed at Armageddon and THAT will count as your second death? If you die during Armageddon it counts as the second death because you were officially given sufficient knowledge to decide. If you are destroyed at Armageddon and have no knowledge of the truth THEN that would count as your first death, you can be resurrected...learn the truth...then make your choice.
That?s what I was raised with but I haven?t seen all the new light.
