Did The "Titles" In The Hall Bother You?

i always hated the fact that the jws claim they don't take on titles for status and then do just that.

pioneer,special pioneer, auxillary pioneer, elder, ms,co, do, po etc.

did this bother you?

1914 ,the Generation that got tossed in the Garbage Can

My oldest Uncle was born January1914. I will ask him what he thinks of the wt new light on the subject next time I talk to him. I know he doesn't think much of the old light...or any light from the society.

i am having a discussion with my jw mom on the watchtower take on matt 25:32. i know this has been discussed many times on here before, but i was wondering if someone had the watchtower quotes on this topic.

i was thinking the watchtower already had decided who the goats were.

Revelation book revisions in Sept KM

the insert in this months km is 4 pages of revisions for the rev.

book i am going over them one by one.

most seem pretty insignificant, updated figures and such.

"What form will the significant cry of "Peace and Security" take?

“it will be no more than a facade. Underneath, nothing will really have changed."

The change in the insert reads:

"In recent years, polititians have used the phrase "peace and security", to describe various human schemes.”

“Since Bible prophesies are often completly understood after thay are fulfilled or in the course of fulflillment,”

“Christians know that whatever peace and security nations may appear to have achieved, basically nothing will have changed."

It doesn’t look like it. It looks more like they are validating what was previously written about the government fulfilling prophecy while justifying previously failed prophecy.

except for one guy who knew, but had the theory that Jehovah had used the date to cleanse the Congregation...

I think this idea spread like the smurf legends.

OutLaw:..I was there in the years before 1975..The preaching of that date was relentless..If you disagreed you could be Disfellowshipped..WBT$ dedicated articles in the WatchTower and Awake to support that date..Now ask any JW if the year 1975 was preached from door to door.

In another thread I was asked if I had knowledge of my mothers, if any, participation and or communication with the GB (because she is anointed) and my response was: Yes she was admonished for it.
One of the things she was admonished for was disagreeing with and refusing to participate in the idea that the end was probably going to be here by 1975! LOL!
I remember how disgusted she was about the whole thing but she kept quiet because she didn’t want to risk being disfellowshipped or reproved for conduct unbecoming that of a Christian!

My dad however bought it hook line and sinker and my parents argued about it. I was then told by my parents I MUST get baptized before 1975 if I want to be sure and see the new system.

why is it that i have known for so long what to expect of my jw relatives, and they continue to exceed my expectations for crazy-making behavior, yet still sometimes, i am blindsided by a comment so out of left field, so removed from the way that i see my world and the way that i live my life (or try to)...why does it still hurt?.

i have posted before about my sisters.

This thread made me think of my mother and her relationship with her three minister brothers, each of their own faith.
One of her brothers now belongs to/attends The Crystal Cathedral in So. Ca. He told her several years ago that she was Satan’s sister, as long as she remains a JW. She hasn’t spoken to him since. Of course she believes Satan influenced him to say that. LOL!
They each belong to their own faith and each believes the other is a product of Satan. They are all correct. I think out of the four there is only one that is tolerant of the others faith and it isn’t my mom.

We’ll heck she doesn’t sound like a very relaxed person. She is probably a steam engine trying to escape discontent. It’s sad when family or friends take things out on those that love them. ((essie))

Why are the world's anointed not called to Brooklyn to be Governing Body?

when i was in the witnesses, and near the end of my time in.

there was the whole new understanding, of putting non-anointed people in positions in the organization that were normally something an anointed person would be in.

i remember them mentioning that the amount of anointed was dwindling and there needed to be people in these positions of responsibility, to make sure the work continues.. after this was highlighted and all good witnesses swallowed this thinking hook line and sinker.

Blondie maybe you can help me with this. I maybe remembering it wrong but I have been trying to find it, and can't recall where I read it, but I thought for sure I read a passage where Christ was speaking of...or said something to lead the reader to believe that there were in fact others that would be resurrected (a heavenly one) that lived before his life on earth.
