  imagine if all the governing body resigned and a new set of brothers came in and said we are very very sorry for all those who have been disfellowshipped and disassociated over the years.

  we know many mistakes have been made.

  we are really genuinely sorry to all those who have been hurt and especially those who have died and been hurt by these mistakes.

  We now want all those still alive to come back. We want you to accept our sincere apologies

  And we are very very sorry about the misunderstanding and misleading of Bible doctrine

  We were wrong about so many things

  We now have to see we cannot be dogmatic and we just don’t know

  This will be a shock to many

  And we want you to realise that from now on JW’s will be completely different

  We will leave it up to you what you decide

  If anyone wants to have celebrations, it’s up to them is the conscience is what matters

  If anyone interprets scripture differently to us, then we will not be dogmatic, we just don’t know

  From now on meetings will be more of a social occasion. We will discuss with an open mind different Scriptures

  Please come back all those who have left, you will find a more gentle, more hospitable, loving and kind place

  Once again, we are so sorry for the mistakes have been made and the misinterpretation of Bible prophecy

  Once again, we shouldn’t have been dogmatic we just don’t know and we never did. Please accept our apologies

  Derek you could be right. He knows he was so late and says I know others have made a big deal out of this. Then he goes on to call it a nothing burger.

  In that case what kind of an activist is he? He is playing down what he is supposed to be drawing attention to.

  Br Jackson said you don’t have to wish your unrighteous loved ones have to die before Armageddon. The unrighteous may make it into the new world if they die before or are still alive when it starts

  And Lloyd calls it a nothing burger and he still said after this that JWs believe everyone not a JW will be slaughtered. He has now proven he doesn’t know what he is talking about.

  Luke 1:8 doesn’t say that. Did you make a mistake?

  Hailstone message AND everyone will be saved? Questions

  i’ve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.

  from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a “hailstone message of judgement” which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.

  there were hints that this could be very soon, “any day now” preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.

  There is no point in a hailstorm message and actually no point in ministry now. There is no point being a JW either as Br Jackson said you don’t have to wish your unrighteous loved ones have to die before Armageddon. The unrighteous may make it into the new world if they die before or are still alive when it starts.

  The everyone will now be saved part is the largest change in the history of the organisation.

  The official change takes some thinking about.

  Old light is that you have to die before Armageddon if you were unrighteous. But now they are saying you don’t have to die beforehand if you are unrighteous.

  They did not think this through and they should have run it past someone intelligent before announcing it.

  But now the cat is out of the bag. So many older ones with unrighteous loved ones have been so relieved that their loved ones don’t need to die before the end!!!!!!!!!!!

  Lloyd needs to redact his mistake saying the new light on who will survive Armageddon is a nothing burger.

  I have tried to have conversations about the AGM asking questions about who will survive Armageddon now? They don’t like confronting this question. They really try to avoid it and not think about it.

  • I force someone to confront it. We used to believe unrighteous had to die beforehand to make it into the new world. But now they are saying this unrighteous one does not have to die before to make it into the new world.

    If a JW confronts this new light they can’t fail to have doubts about what the GB is saying, and what they have always said.

    I do believe the most profound part of the last AGM was when Br Jackson said “we know some of you were hoping your unrighteous loved ones die before Armageddon!!!!“

    but now they are saying the unrighteous don’t have to die before Armageddon to make it into the new world.

    This is so profound and huge I would say the largest change in the last century or so. And Lloyd either missed it, didn’t understand it or refuses to understand it. He says it’s a nothing burger.

    His best bee in his bonnet was to say that JWs believe that everyone not a JW will be slaughtered at Armageddon. Now this change at the AGM they don’t believe that anymore.

  for those who are still attending meetings, what is happening at your congregation regarding field service now that reporting of hours is no longer required?.

  are the elders pushing for people to go out in service anyway?.

  what is the response?.

  It’s many years since I was serving(working) in Bethel but I still recall vividly conversations held in hushed tones where we admitted together some doubts. And I’m referring to members of a branch committee no less! so yes, I don’t just wonder, I know.

  The thing is that they have so much invested into life in the borg, that they cannot bring themselves to face up to “the real troof”. Ray Franz referred to their cognitive dissonance.
