Tonus it’s not vague. They say clearly -
person’s eternal future does not depend on when he happens to die
i’ve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.
from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a “hailstone message of judgement” which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.
there were hints that this could be very soon, “any day now” preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.

someone else posted something a similar experience, this is one i had regarding my mom.my mom died last year.
she had been in failing health for years, but the last 2 year were pretty rough for her, with lots of visits to the hospital.
the last 4 months, it was the hospital, a skilled nursing facility/rehab unit, and finally, a nursing home.
I wish the CO had some funds available from Borg or something. It’s all very well the CO telling the elders to organise rota’s and assign different ones to look after older ones. But are younger members of the congregation supposed to do this for free?
what happens in practice is that those older ones who have money pay younger ones £30 hour to come round and clean and look after them.
those who pioneered for years or for whatever reason have little money can’t pay for care. Who should pay for this?
the org has hundreds of millions to look after old bethelites but if not in bethel you are out in the cold literally
on a recent Bethel tour around Chelmsford the tour guide made a really big deal out of the precious older ones and how Jehovah values them, he makes sure they get the best care. This is only true of older ones in Bethel ones outside not so much

Take this faithful old sister who has a son who is a drug addict. He is most definitely unrighteous and can’t kick the habit.
She used to hope he died before Armageddon so he would be in paradise. If he didn’t die he would not be in paradise as he would be killed at Armageddon.
But the new light is it makes no difference if he died before or was alive at Armageddon. Unrighteous ones have the same chance of being in paradise if they died beforehand or not.
Going by this new light BILLIONS now living will never die😂😭

Yes very obscure.
Either they backtrack and do a U turn on the new light and it is better to die before paradise after all.
Or they don’t do a U turn and it doesn’t make a difference if an unrighteous one dies before or is alive at Armageddon.
I agree they don’t make sense

person’s eternal future does not depend on when he happens to die
This is the key. If they died beforehand they would get a resurrection and make it into paradise unless they were really really bad.
If they are still alive when Armageddon comes they would get into paradise just as if they died beforehand unless they were really really bad.

Notsure You need to go listen again to what Br Jackson announced as new light.
He made the statement that “we know some of you were thinking that you hoped your loved ones would die before Armageddon” he repeated it saying “we know, we know that’s what you were hoping”
but then he says in a whinny sarcastic voice “but does that really make sense?”
no it doesn’t make sense as the rest of the nonsense interpretation by the GB.
but then he goes in to imply that if some JWs have unbelieving loved ones they don’t have to die beforehand to be in paradise.
So the big question is now - is there a difference between an unrighteous person dying before or still alive when Armageddon comes? The new light says no difference.
so will there be billions of unrighteous make it through just as if they died beforehand?

Notsure think about it. The new light is that unrighteous loved ones do not need to die beforehand to get a spot in paradise.
So how could that mean anything other than billions of unrighteous ones will survive Armageddon just as if they died beforehand
tell me where I’m wrong about what this new light is supposed to mean?
uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.
Many times throughout history there was no sex before marriage. Did all those people get messed up sexually?
I would agree with him that he is messed up sexually and just as most sexual perverts try to make excuses there is no excuse for this.

Now they brought out this new light that it’s silly to hope your unrighteous loved ones die beforehand because they may make it through Armageddon unless they are really really bad.
so basically now billions of people will make it through? Lloyd Evans used to say those pictures of the new world showed perfect parks landscaped over the bodies of 8 billion people.
Now it seems the new light is that not that many will be slaughtered at Armageddon?
This really is the opposite of a nothing burger that Lloyd said it was, it’s probably one of the largest changes in the history of the organisation. Now Billions of unrighteous may survive Armageddon and Billions more unrighteous getting resurrected
The new light is that we can’t be dogmatic and we don’t know who of the unrighteous will be resurrected or who of the unrighteous will not be slaughtered at Armageddon.

Its a huge change because up until recently the official doctrine was always only baptism can save you, possibly children of baptised may just about make it but it’s going to be very hard. But if you died beforehand then you would be resurrected unless you were really really bad.
