in this article titled, " maintain a complete heart towards jehovah " ( which should be called ' maintain a complete heart towards the wt society ) - wt society uses a lame illustration of a field laborer desiring family - yet missapplies this to jw's desiring " things of satan's world".. on page 15 it states, " a field laborer is busy plowing.

if a person walked up to you one day and started telling you what to do, how to do it, and threatening you if you refused, wouldn't you immediately ask them by what authority they had such a right?

I know for a fact that there are a lot of people in their 30's, 40's and 50's who are still in the borg that are NOT listening to the BS about not preparing financially for the future/retirement. They are quietly "storing up treasures on earth" cause subconsiously they know the big A and WT are BS. I'm not speaking of every single Jdub but a good 75% of them in that age group. At least thats what I see in my area.

I parents have a Lot of Bound volumes of old WT and Awake mags plus tons of other WT Lit. It would keep you warm during the long winter months . We can have a real bon fire with Marshmellows and such.

How did you visualize Jehovah when you were young?

i was born as a third generation (perhaps even fourth gen. but my great great grandfather never got baptized) jw.

i remember that when i was young, perhaps about five years old, i would think about jehovah as this big black ghost with yellow eyes.

to me he was quite frightening, and i was constantly catious not to piss him off.

As a Kid I went to Italy and saw images like this. Also my Non Jdub relatives had Goddy pictures (mostly Jesus images) and images like the one below everywhere in their homes. So I drew my concept of Jehovah looking something like this. And Yah, He scared the shit out of me! As a kid I used to think that Jayhoover was gonna kill me at armageddon (pictured a horrible excrusiating death) cause I thought a person had to be perfect in order to make it through the big A bomb. It didn't help that whenever I did something that would piss off my parents, they would say crap like " Your gonna Die in Armadegon" Just writing this is making me LMAO.

since finding out the truth about the truth myself and having successfully extricated myself and my parents about the jw's, i find myself with a new dilema that being they still believe the bible as a literal book for their salvation as i has read all of thomas paines works and how the bible is not very good for the human family, as they are of advancing years would it be inappropriate to shatter their illusions of some kind of paradise and let them flounder in a moral precipice and wonder what their lives have been about.

on the flip side once their time has come how would i feel for not telling them their false views.

at the moment i am in the deist point of view, with a tendency of the agnostic, it is quite a dilema!.

I get into it with my mom sometimes. I throw in a tid bit or two about certain obvious flaws with the borg but I don't push the issue too much with her. I mostly argue with her about the fact that she stauchly believes that 99.0% of humanity will be slaughtered by Jehooba. Its hopeless. She's in very 70's and has been a JW for almost 50 years. So whats the point in telling your elderly parents the real truth about the troof? Let them go in peace believing that there IS a Santa Claus.
