Is the person you're with a witness? -

If you now think screwing around with people and playing games with their emotions and their psychological well being, then stop it and acknowledge it was wrong to yourself and others who might need this bit of information from this kind social behavior..
A bit harsh. I'm assuming the people he's been seeing are men. Growing up as a witness for a gay man must be purgatory.

Oh dear.
Are you still married? What family have you got that are witnesses and how would you feel about cutting contact with them.
The reason I ask is for the sake of your sanity I can only see this ending one way.
And the sooner the better as you can then start living your life the way that you want to.

by oppostate ingeorge cook, omg, george f'ing cook, whattttt!.

he was very detail oriented and very eccentric.

I think it would be unfair to cremate him just because he's 81! -

I saw that same thing about cremated within a week, never heard that one before.
It was the Daily Wail. Don't expect anything it says to be in any way accurate. Ever.

Starting threads
by Landy inany chance of people resisting the urge to start new threads when the subject is already being discussed?.
the prince threads are a good example.
instead of one interesting to read thread with lots of replies you end up with forty threads with one or two replies.

Any chance of merging them? -

To be fair he is 81. Less a case of the mghty have fallen than a case of the mighty getting old and wanting a more settled life. -

Being Positive around family that are still in.
by freddo inif you are a fader or you have reduced activity markedly - say resigned as a pioneer or an elder or ms or gone inactive and still have some relationship with your immediate family or spouse - how do you stay positive around them when you feel like shaking them out of their stupor but believe deep down it would be counter productive?.
thoughts from all most welcome..

Conversation ends with an eye roll and dispear. How do you reason with someone like that.
You don't. You leave it alone. They have the right to their beliefs just as you have the right to yours.
My mother is still a witness. I wouldn't dream of laying into her with whatever this week's forum hobbyhorse is. As long as she is happy that's fine by me.
We talk about the kids, holidays or whatever. If I was constantly attacking her faith then it would make for a strained relationship and why on earth would I want that with my mother?

the Guardians of Doctrine - What was your view of GB 1.0?
by berrygerry inwhen i was an all-in, younger, somewhat uber-dub - i envisioned the governing body as spending 16 to 18 hours a day at the bethel library, with their noses in the bible and associated research books.
sky-j was propelling his holy spirit directly at them, maybe opening the book to the right page or paragraph, and zap, new light.. when i learned that these dudes only met on wednesday mornings, for as little as 10 minutes, and spent the rest of their time managing and traveling, it was quite a letdown.. anyone have such thoughts of our guardians of doctrine?.

When I was a teenager the GB were almost god like, etheral and held in awe.
Now they have Stephen Lett on the internet.
