I totally agree joe134cd. I am in the same position as you but with my mother who is 87. It is me who helps my mother still attend - she couldn't do Zoom without me. And it is me who had to run round for unleavened bread last month!. However I have had a couple of texts from Mom's friends in the congregation thanking me for respecting her faith and helping her keep this up during the pandemic...which is appreciated by them at least. From time to time we have discussed the reasons why I don't believe but for the most part I remain silent on the matter. In the last years of her life when she truly believes she will one day be well and one day see my father again, it seems kinder to allow her those thoughts of comfort.

Article: Passing the Time By Firing Back at Jehovah’s Witnesses — With Letters
by AndersonsInfo inhttps://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/arts/under-the-sun-why-a-local-woman-wants-to-nail-the-jehovahs-witnesses-11545704.
kayleigh had run out of postage stamps and was waiting for new ones to arrive.
it was slowing her assault on a local congregation of jehovah’s witnesses.. she pointed to a stack of letters she’d already written to what she liked to call “the jws.”.

Thank you for posting as I did find this interesting. The stand out for me was that the other neighbours' interest soon dwindled.....underlining that most people couldn't care less about these letters.

Tonight's Meeting
by Studyover induring tonight's meeting the brother seemed to read out something along the lines of "you may be helping a poor sister who you think may be struggling, but in turn that sister may be getting financial assistance from the government.
it is always best to stick to jehovah's arrangement in these matters so that help can get to those who most need it, including the worldwide work".
i think it may have been an article about social media platforms initially and how they should be avoided and then this was mentioned.

2020 Convention Friday Highlights: Information Control and Hypocrisy
by neat blue dog inthere's yet another talk to add to the list of talks written specifically for damage control against "apostates".
the speaker says, "some who were once part of the christian congregation attempt to mislead us", that they tell "false accusations" & "lies".
to combat this, he says that you should "protect your ears from damaging noise by not listening to it", comparing it to wearing "noise canceling headphones".

This week's meeting started with "welcome brothers and sisters. Let's take time to put aside our worldly troubles and enjoy this week's meeting". Then the next hour was spent discussing .......worldly troubles! I sometimes wonder if the congregation are hearing what I am hearing!!

This Sucks: Every Day this pandamic goes on, PIMI wife is slipping further and further into the WT abyss
by goingthruthemotions inthere will be no hope that she will ever come out of the wt abyss.
her mind is so diluted with the cult, i.e.
the best life ever.

I agree joe134cd. As my mother is mid 80s it seems to me there is no point in continuing to try to get her to think critically. She believes she will get her health back and see loved ones in the paradise and those thoughts give her comfort. At the same time if I hear the words "critical times hard to deal with" once more this week I think I may go mad!!!!!

Do You Use “ALEXA”?
by minimus ini got the amazon echo dot and it’s pretty good.
do you use it for anything?.
-
Studyover
Yes, and it is a great help in my house. As I care for someone totally blind it has proved invaluable to her. She now has news, weather, time, music on tap, audio books, recipes..everything really to assist. Biggest plus being able to make calls through Alexa so no more worrying about hitting the wrong buttons. Definitely more pros than cons for my personal situation.

Do You Have ALEXA?
by minimus inwhat’s your opinion of having alexa ?
is it something you would get if you don’t already have it?
?.

I bought an echo dot for my mum who has been blind since childhood, It is invaluable to her. She can make phone calls, play music, listen to books, make lists and reminders, all by voice command and no buttons to find or numbers to remember. We love it.

Today's local watchtower study. On csa! Must read
by nowwhat? inmy wife told me that the wt conductor said in in the strongest most emphatic way.
that all child abusers will now be reported to the authorities whether there are 2 witnesses or not!
and this is new thinking!

I listened to this on dial in. It struck me at the end "how would you answer" that they could have just asked "what should you do if you discover a child has been abused.?".
