JW.ORG TRAFFIC WORTH
by @ROOT ini looked up the estimated revenue of jw.org using http://www.siteworthtraffic.com/ and was shocked at the results.
not only are they saving money on printing psychical books/magazines, but they're also making a tidy sum romtheir "free" website created and maintained by volunteers.
i spoke with a jw recently who was very proud to tell me just how good their website was and that they provided it free of charge.

Whether its purely visitor statistics that look good or if money is indeed generated. I will never visit that site and let them think another person is interested in the crap they have to offer. -

What if.....the impossible happened?
by sparrowdown inwhat if the almighty gb announced that all shunning will cease, and next minute all the people who have shunned you start calling and texting saying "hi, we're baaaack, we can talk to you now!".
.
what would do you do, and how do you react?.

I'd say don't bother crawling back to me now Mum and Dad. I know now that your love has always been conditional. I would continue to shun all JWs. They are bad association! -

I am going to pioneer after the holidays!
by snakeface inyes, you heard right.. as you know, most christian organizations publish and distribute little tracts with their gospel message.
well they also make some that expose the lies of the wt, and explain how it is a cult.
even if people are not interested in the "gospel message" in these tracts, the tracts do a good job exposing the wt as a cult.. now, those of you who are now agnostic or athiests or just non-religious, please keep reading, to understand what i plan to do.... i am expecting to receive $$ for christmas.

I carry a black marker in my backpack. I visit a lot of hospitals and public waiting rooms in my job so any tracts or mags I find I write, depending on my mood and anyone who may be able to see me things like "BULLSHIT" or "BEWARE, DANGEROUS CULT" in big bold letters across the front. I used to write www.jwfacts.com but figured people will just think its a crappy JW website and ignore it anyway. This way makes them think 'hey someone hates JWs' maybe theyll even wonder why. I also get a cheap thrill out of it ha ha.

Does Anyone Watch Ascension?
by jw07 inthis new series' pilot episode is the perfect allegory for the blind faith of the average person in the jw movement, those who deny that anything 'immoral' or sinister happens within the ranks, the double lives, doubters, and towards the end of the episode, an example of how the governing body controls persons' lives.
check it out and tell me if you saw all the parallels.
i think it's my new favourite show.. http://tv-series.me/2014/12/15/ascension-s1e1-season-1-episode-1/.

I always wait till theres at least a whole season or 2 before I start watching a series. 2 reasons, firstly so they cant cancel it half way through on me and secondly because Im too bloody impatient to wait a whole week before watching it again, especially after a major cliff hanger.

How can I ever leave this cult?
by Julia Orwell ini've been out nearly two years but it's not out of me.
i am on school holidays now til february so i thought without work to worry about i can come off my medication.
i phased it slowly, starting in early november to avoid the physical side effects of coming down.

Hi Julia, nice to see you again.
I tried numerous times to come off the anti depressants. In the end I settled for half the dose I was on when in the cult. I think the pharmaceutical companies have to take credit for hooking me onto them in the first place. (aropax, paroxetine... once explained as not the least bit addictive, now a known addiction drug)
I am way happier now though just because Im out and like you keep my Hubby and 2 'worldly' people as my most trusted best friends.
Can you tell us what youre studying?
Enjoy the holidays mate, Ive got to work though them.
Love from Queensland.
Ps I love your writing style.

life after the wtbts
by Hortensia inyou can't move forward to a new, more interesting, possibly much happier life, if you're still looking behind at the former life.. there is so much obsession on here about what the wtbts is doing, and discussing all the forms of injustice and bullshit in the wtbts, or how to bring down the wtbts.
yes, their doctrines are crazy and they are a cult and cruel to boot.
move on.

Your post Hortensia isnt taking into consideration that most people have moved on to better more exciting and fulfilling lives of happiness and contentment. I dont believe there would be anyone here that spends the whole day on JWN. Even if a person on here comes across as obsessive after leaving WT many yrs ago it doesnt mean they arent living a good useful life with lots of friends and good plans for the future. Fact is they may only spend an hour a week here on JWN.

Unfortunately for some they face their JW past at every turn. Being shunned and stared at at the mall, shunned/treated badly at work, having JWs knocking at the door, being reminded of family theyve lost. Even just the PTSD all those years in a cult have caused. Its not a matter of just 'getting over it' for most of us. This is a much needed forum for everyone to vent and seek support not just those whove just left. No one can judge anothers motives or need for being here.

One day theyll thank their Father for getting the courts involved. Ive noticed its so much easier for kids with one parent out of the faith to leave at an earlier age as they have support in leaving JWs. Wish at least one of my parents had the sense to not join the cult.

Her mother confirmed to the judge she would not be attending her daughter's concert, relating "at some length the bible story of Jesus evicting the money lenders and dove sellers from the temple".
OMG what a wacko!! No wonder the ex husband took her to court. New JWs are the worst and its just embarrasing and makes you cringe when they open their mouths.
She hadnt even gone to the kids prize presentations for 2 years, good on the baptist church for actually doing things that interest children instead of making them sit through mind numbing BS.
