  Pete,

  You guys Seem to miss the poetry in this masterful world litterature. JWs have their special dualist spin on this story tying it to the great argument about who we should follow Jehovah or Satan. But most people would see this story as an ahistorical reflection upon the life conditions we meet and the philosophical problem of evil. Why does evil befall good and the like thinking. Mrs Job or the children are not the point of the story, is the suffering of Job. Job knows that there is only one true God. It is not a contest or debate. Nor is sufferring a debateable subject. Suffering and God both exists to the believer. Therefore Job as the super believer and type of the humanity of Christ holds on to his faith in the One who has the power to restore

  Not to be theological geek here, but it does not really matter if God was causing their disasters or not. He either caused them or allowed them and it did draw Job closer to him DESPITE the reason, wisdom and recommendations of the people around him. He restored God just as God restored the humanity of Jesus. Job btw is in the Wisdom genre

  Job is a humbling book showing how disaster draws strong believers closer to God. We dont really get that in the present West but saints in peril get it elsewhere. Jesus Christ tempted by in all things yet without sin Hebrews 4:15. The greater Son of God passed the examn flawlessly.

  Halls are status symbols not needed and they can always spin a story as to why times changes. Many small fellowships/sects rent a cheap room somewhere. Get a room, as we say

  within the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.

  the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.

  i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.

  If you believe the org, you will believe the allegations are simply apostate lies from satan. I remember how apostates were viewed in the 80s. They were bitter evil people that were angry that they had been judged and now they spread lies about God's org rather than going back and repent and face divine discipline 😈. If JW experience judgment from the governments, that fits perfectly the image of satanic persecution. I think a future abandonment of the 1914 doctrine is a bigger worry. That could wake up old servants

  Thank you for confirming that marxism regimes killed many and that marxism promotes disbelief in God. Had the US and USSR gone into war, USSR might have called to war against religion ☺️. Hitler approached religion a bit differently knowing its surface level appeal ☺️.

  I think human nature is the great killer, the Devil in the mirror as the Christadelphians say. Man will use the given excuse. If God is in fashion, we bring him along 😆. If some fabled liberation from God is in mind, God is out.

  The great liberator of the human spirit is Jesus 😘. Even in the dark days of Luther, he could say I know nothing of God apart from Jesus Christ. The reformation brought the new testament to light proclaiming that Deity's blood was spilled for every man. Oh the sweet name of Jesus gradually changing the world.

  There are interesting similarities between RCs and JWs. They traditionally view their org as the saving ark, they have a meditorial clergy though the JWs speak of elders and governing body and none of them worship Jesus as their only God. Similarities between JW and Islam? Well, works. The Muslims seem to hold Muhammed in higher esteem than the JWs hold Jesus

  True, ideas and reading does not turn one either way. Faith in God is something you either have or have not. That is basically the problem with much evangelism. It tries to convert people that are not fertile grounds. You can force such people but to no good outcome
