Konagirl, your post got me thinking. The GB actually IS mentioned in scripture, just not the way they say they are:
Jeremiah 23:1 "Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares Jehovah"
...or can you?.
(we'll see...).

I'm always impressed by the Orwellian nature of the WT. They're "the Truth", so it's okay to lie*. The hateful way they handle disfellowshipping is a "loving arrangement"**. They are the channel of the perfect God, so it is okay if they are flawed***. True charity is in words (or spiritual encouragement), not material assistance**** And so on.
* "Lies are truth"
** "Hate is love"
*** "Flawed is perfection"
**** "Selfishness is generosity"
does anyone have access to available pre-recordings from the 2024 regional convention?.
"If anyone has a Lapel Badge Card for that convention, please give us a download link because a member here is looking for a copy of one."
Pardon my ignorance: are we forging badges to gain admittance? 😳

King's Counsel Diogenesister: "I would like to enquire of any elders, do you know when Watchtower put in writing it that parents are required to be in attendance with minors during any kind of judicial committee, reproof and/or back room counselling session etc?
"It at least demonstrates that elders do have pastoral duties involving minors.
"Also service meetings. The fact ANY baptised male is to "take the lead" in ALL cases where spiritual activities are taking place - that his authority supersedes any female's - places the Sister's children in a vulnerable position."

it was over 9% at it's peak.
one of the greatest increases is price of food, something that everyone feels to some extent.

The law of diminishing returns. This is one business where the longer they're in business can be seen as a liability.
blood transfusion history.
1665 the first recorded successful blood transfusion occurs in england: physician richard lower keeps dogs alive by transfusion of blood from other dogs.. 1818 james blundell performs the first successful blood transfusion of human blood to treat postpartum hemorrhage.. 1840 the first whole blood transfusion to treat hemophilia is successfully completed.. 1900 karl landsteiner discovers the first three human blood groups, a, b and o.. 1902 landsteiner’s colleagues, alfred decastello and adriano sturli, add a fourth blood type, ab.. 1907 blood typing and cross matching between donors and patients is attempted to improve the safety of transfusions.
the universality of the o blood group is identified.. 1914 adolf hustin discovers that sodium citrate can anticoagulate blood for transfusion, allowing it to be stored and later transfused safely to patients on the battlefield.. 1932 the first blood bank is established at leningrad hospital.. 1939-1940 the rh blood group is discovered and recognized as the cause behind most transfusion reactions.. 1940 the us government establishes a nationwide blood collection program.. so from the beginning of the watchtower being printed in 1879, they were ok with blood transfusions until 1945. what caused this?

Beth Sarim: " Satan's' world is out to get us?"
The only reason Satan's world would be interested in the WT* is to learn some of their tricks!
* GB, truth be told. I doubt that they could lie straight in bed 🙄

were asked to operate sawmills, bakeries, numerous farms.
Personally, I don't believe for a minute that the local JWs did Sweet Fanny Adams to contribute to the broader community during the war. They are the only religion to be banned by the Australian Government for the obnoxious way they were carrying on while the country was at war. This looks like a story they made up to try and look good to the broader community, and the apology (for something I don't believe happened*) was both to thumb their nose at said broader community ("We're sorry we helped you ungrateful sods; we won't do it again!") and to cement the anti-war anti-government stuff in the eyes of the faithful.
*I'm willing to accept true evidence, not this publicity stunt.
Edited to add: I'm doubting that first paragraph, p. 172. What came before that paragraph, so that there is some context?

"wouldn't be surprised if Rutherford was drinking blood in the video clip"
Somewhat off topic, but brought back to memory by this sentence: there's a YouTube clip where Kenneth Copeland seems to drink his own blood at communion.
On Rutherford and transfusions: he had rectal cancer and may have needed operations. The blood thing was Franz's hobby horse, but wouldn't have gone anywhere while Rutherford was possibly needing transfusions. Rutherford probably didn't have any regard for Franz and his ideas anyway, because he himself was the theologian, and didn't need any of Franz's weird ideas. By 1945 Rutherford was dead, Knorr was president and was willing to allow his strange little buddy Franz to work on the theology, weird ideas and all, while Knorr worked on the business side.*
Farkel wrote a lot of stuff about Rutherford. He was amused that a cancerous asshole like Rutherford died of cancer of asshole.
*The foregoing paragraph is recollection of speculation that was going around about two decades ago.

It's worrying that they are having food shortages, if your sources are correct. The last thing that they need is a humanitarian crisis whereby their own free labour are starving. Do you foresee aid boxes being collected by the congregations from whom Bethelites came?
