"Millions Now Living Will Never Die" - a small book published in 1920.
Whose 'fantasy' was that?
I doubt anyone old enough to read that little literary gem would still be living today. Their shamelessness knows no bounds.
my brother ( an elder ) calls me every time he's assigned a public talk.
he believes listening to zoom meetings is a great start, to eventually attending in-person meetings.
the talk is titled : '' reject worldly fantasies, pursue kingdom realities.

there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.
even the most brain-dead robotic elders told me he was offensive.
.
When they existed, did district overseers visit congregations occasionally? If so, was it a bigger deal than a CO visit?
(I never had the "privilege" of seeing any of these luminaries in person. π)

was there such a thing as a rutherford kite back in the old days?

Great find, blondie! ππΈ
Don't you love the humility? Rutherford is mentioned before God on the flying billboard.
I wonder how easy it was to read that thing? Did a single person turn up to that lecture who wasn't going to before they saw that kite? π€
as an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.
perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.
how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).
Vidiot, that's an interesting anecdote about the Spawn comic, but I think you're comparing apples with oranges. After all, people were actually looking forward to the comics! πΈπ
If that's true that they are written a year in advance (Watchtower articles, that is), then the changes over the last year could well have created some small conflict with whatever content was originally intended for release.
When Jesus said not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, I doubt he had this kind of an organisational dog's breakfast in mind. π

Journeyman, this is not your father's GB!
Not getting a WT out on time would have been unthinkable, back in the day.
But, then again, so would have ceasing the door to door work. Yet they tugged the forelock and did what the government said.

Is The Rutherford Kite another example of "Jehovah's Witnesses have always been on the cutting edge of technology"? π

BluesBrother: "That would have been a great way to get Pioneer hours inβ¦.. just β go fly a kite β !"
A pleasant spring day with a gentle breeze. The pioneer lies back in his deck chair on the hillside, as his kite, which bears Jehovah's life saving message, wafts over the housing estate below. πͺ

Are kites for true Christians? I'm surprised the organisation hasn't found some pagan origin for kite flying and condemned it accordingly. π
on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
He could be seriously ill, hence his absence from meeting attendance. But you'd think that there would be more information out there if it was simply a medical retirement. But then again, he was a head of a secret society which loves to keep people in the dark, so who knows?
for the first time in ages.. a very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap.
but--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation.
i stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are jws--and told them i was an apostate.
At the door I usually tell them "I am not what you would call 'an apostate'". Which is true; I've not so much as set foot inside a Kingdom Hall*, all my life. Whether they believe me or not is up in the air. I'm still probably "an opposer" to them.** And I'm obviously informed by "apostates" as to how I get my knowledge of their inner workings.
*This is true in a rhetorical sense. I once poked my head inside a Kingdom Hall after a meeting had finished, out of curiosity***. I was on my way somewhere else, interestingly after attending a child's birthday party. I've never attended an actual meeting in a Kingdom Hall.
** Is that an equally scary term, or does it make them more cranky than fearful?
*** It didn't strike me as being markedly different from the average small Pentecostal church, aesthetically speaking.
