I said this in Blondie's thread:
But a disturbing thought occurred to me. New Zealand's Bethel was closed down and operations in NZ are now directed from Australia's Bethel in NSW. I imagine that any documents pertaining to the cases that the Royal Commission are interested in are now on Australian soil. Which to me looks like being a legal nightmare when it comes to trying to subpoena those documents.

Nice to see. WT thinks they're special, but they are still subject to the law.

WTS 2024 Annual Business Meeting ...
by careful in... is just three weeks from this saturday.
the org has been tight-lipped, really, successfully secret about advance info on these in recent years,.
now that these relatively recent changes on dress and grooming, reporting fs time, judicial matters, etc.

Changes will probably be precipitated by whatever current court cases against and government investigations into the WT are happening at the moment. Any obvious smoking guns?
Perhaps they've changed enough over the last year or so to their satisfaction. Experiencing change fatigue? Maybe they're pausing for a tea break, David Lange style.

AWAKE MAGAZIBE'S SURPRISING NEW DIRECTION
by raymond frantz inhttps://youtu.be/ze4q_7_-uo4?si=l0xe0drc5a9urhyt.
so there was a time the awake magazine was printed every 15 days but now since jehovah is blessing them so much the magazine is printed once a year, and here you have the 1st edition for the year , which is nothing more than an informatial of how good of a charity they are to their local community.
so we read in the following box: what we are doing firstly, jehovah’s witnesses promote a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

It is incomprehensible to think somebody would let their child die.
The horrible thing is not so much "letting" the child die as "making" the child die! 😱
Because, ultimately, that's what some have done. 😞

"1914 + 120 years given to Noah to building ark before flood came brings us to 2034"
Blondie, twenty or so years ago, the WT discovered that link* and mentioned it. It led to speculation on here that 1934 might become a new date. It seems to have fizzled out between then and now. Obviously the new GB doesn't have the same appetite for dating shenanigans that previous iterations of leadership had.
Here is a question I asked about it and some links to that discussion back in the day. Just search for 2034 on here for more links.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5139187116802048/what-happened-2034
* I remember reading a 1990s WT or Awake! article suggesting that Noah took fifty or so years to build the ark. I had already thought that they might give themselves some breathing space by using your above calculation. I refused to publish that idea on forums like this because I didn't want to give the Bethel monitors of such sites any ideas. In the early 2000s Bethel seems to have discovered it and ran with it.

"If that happens,,,then I guess the post-secondary education of jws kids is in serious jeopardy.
"Since the magazines are equivalent to a university education."
As someone who is interested in the dissemination of real information, I can't help but mourn the lost opportunity that Awake! represents. What could it have been, if it hadn't been a part of the WT's propaganda arm?
BTW, I'll never forgive them for the 1990s article bragging about how many children died for their blood policy. 😡

What if JWs voted in elections?
by Las Malvinas son Argentinas inall this political banter is exhausting, so i want to ask a question that has probably been asked before, so here it goes….
let’s try to keep this non-partisan - just give your opinion and why you think that way.. i’ll go first.
i think jws would generally lean to the right, but not by a whole lot.

It's arguably compulsory here, but I think you can get an exemption on religious grounds from the AEC (Australian Electoral Commission). The penalty is a small fine; I've never known anyone who's paid it. People usually don't vote because they forget. We've got local council elections this Saturday here in NSW. They're compulsory too.

"Hey, I got a title for a movie about the GB "The Dumbass 8" Lol."
Now that, I'd go and see!
Although it's 9 now. Is that the sequel? 🤔
