Adding this: As I always say on this topic, I'll believe that the blood doctrine has changed when they disband the murderous HLCs. Until then, they can **** off! 😡🤬

Blood decisions are now your problem: WT JULY 2025
by raymond frantz inthe following is from the latest study watchtower july 2025, study article 28, paragraph 17:.
each christian must make up his or her own mind about whether to accept or to reject these fractions.
we may find it a challenge to understand this matter fully, but making decisions like this is part of the load that each of us must carry.

Duran: "Nonsense!
"They are not backtracking on their blood view. This is about blood fractions.
"They still say NO whole blood or any 1 of the 4 components. WB-RB-plasma-platelets"
This! They haven't retracted a damned thing! The blood doctrine as it was a quarter of a century ago is still firmly in place. All fractions, no parts, no whole blood. They are simply reminding JWs who might have been reading on here or other places that the blood doctrine might be watered down, that it is still firmly in place. And JWs who know how to read between the lines are being reminded once more of their obligation to die for the cause if necessary. This is them affirming the doctrine while trying to look less controlling to governments. "Exercise your conscience", they say, out of one side of their mouth, and "The blood doctrine is still firmly in place!" out of the other. 🙄

Can someone remind me the reason's you could be disfellowshipped?
by SydBarrett inthe only reasons i can remember are smoking, sexual immorality and of course, apostasy.
there must be others but having been out since 1990, i'm drawing a blank.
i was thinking perhaps serious criminal offenses that result in prison, but then i remembered a brother in my congregation in the 1980's who went to prison.

Just curious about all this. From what I've read on here, what sort of congregation you have very much depends on what sort of BOE you have.
There are reports of Bodies of Elders who are very judiciously active and will disfellowship at the drop of a hat.
Are there more laidback versions, somewhat chill, who'd rather not be burdened by the paperwork that comes with being overzealous on disfellowshipment?

"For sure the "Special Talk" is never really special!"
Didn't they used to have a "public meeting" or "public talk" which was anything but? 🤔

Trump Tariffs started today, Some Countries Caved in early morning.
by liam inusa politicians in charge of the economy for the past 50 years were too stupid to understand how the economy works.
this just proves my theory, that an education on the top tier universities just sucks and means nothing in the real world, unless its in the stem education.
for 50 years usa had zero tariffs on other countries.

"I almost laughed out loud, he paused most of the tariffs again....chaos
'I guess enough leaders were 'kissing my ass"'
I'm assuming that is the point of the whole exercise: to get everyone else to drop their tariffs to something resembling a sensible level.
That would make sense (up to a certain point, perhaps) except for the fact that there is a confusing factor here. There was talk about repealing the 16th amendment and going back to tariffs as the tax base while eliminating the income tax.
As far as I can see, the two approaches would be somewhat mutually exclusive. You can use tariffs as a weapon in a trade war and change them willy-nilly from day to day, or you can set them at a certain steady rate to underpin the tax-take. But I don't think you can do both simultaneously.
Personally, I think approach one was always the point, and approach two was somewhat a bit of idle speculation.
As for Smoot-Hawley, I always thought that it was a hard-learned lesson that would not be forgotten. Hopefully economic conditions are different enough from those of 1930 that history won't repeat itself.

The Big Secret
by finishedmystery inwhen the gb brought a formal end to all the type/antitypes in so many ways it could be said that they brought the religion to an end.
the other sheep/anointed teaching that leads to a two class religion was originally based on two antitypes--the jehu/jehonadab relationship and something about the cities of refuge.
in that 2014 annual meeting talk david splane even specifically stated that the cities of refuge has no antitype.

"In that 2014 annual meeting talk David Splane even specifically stated that the cities of refuge has no antitype."
That's interesting. The GB just aren't trying any more.
Even Chrome's AI overview had this to say:
"In Christian theology, the "antitype" of the biblical cities of refuge is understood to be Jesus Christ, who provides a safe haven and refuge from God's wrath and condemnation for those who believe in him"
Since they try to purge Jesus from as much of their theology as they can, why couldn't they have simply made their organisation the city of refuge? After all, it's supposed to be the Ark, isn't it? The refuge from God's wrath manifested in the Flood, and all that?
Or have they dropped the whole "the organisation is the Ark" thing?

Inviting People to Meetings
by HereIam60 inthe current memorial invitation campaign got me thinking about the few times over the years that someone i invited to a meeting actually came: .
1) once when i was "new", i invited a friend to a sunday meeting.
neither of us drove, so the brother conducting my study picked us up.

What date is the memorandum*? I think the local JWs have turned up to invite us every year since COVID restrictions were lifted.
* It's a business, so we use business terms 😌

WT JUNE 2025 MODESTLY accept what YOU do not know
by blondie inpp.
14-19 just some quote and a few comments from me, very, very repetitious.
the gb seems to think that the rank and file came up the years 1914, 1925, 1975, generation (70-80 years from 1914=1994), overlapping generations.

Of course it's all bogus sect 🎎 stuff. And this is a discussion board, ostensibly to discuss stuff from that particular sect. So we're discussing it. 🎤

FayeDunaway: that's the sort of thing I was expecting.
I'm surprised no-one came into this thread to agree with the stance on the Trinity and other theological points.
